Joerg did a really good job of filming the gardens at the CFS and managed to do it without showing any crowds; you should do more filming, Joerg! I imagine it would be virtually impossible to film the other areas without filming members of the public, many of whom might object to being filmed when enjoying a day out. Then, you'd have to spend editing time, blanking out their faces! Well done, Joerg, you showed the beauty of the CFS gardens.

The trouble is you were in Chelsea full of snobs and overpriced restaurants where people have got more money than sense. I have been to well know famous restaurants and I have not like any of them either due to wait times or food not up to scratch or portions very small. I remember in one famous place my family and I waited about 45 mins to order and thereafter over and hour between courses. Yet near where I live we have a fabulous Italian restaurant where the food and the service is excellent. I also fully understand what you say about Chelsea too small and too much crammed in so I don’t go anymore. I prefer Hampton Court Flower Show more spread out and in beautiful grounds plus more to see. Anyway Joerg lovely video of the flowers and gardens well done got getting those.

I have enjoyed all of your videos, I am with Kristen I had a similar experience this year at the Hampton court flower show, too many people, I was not able to take my time and enjoy the displays, I felt as though I had to be constantly moving seeing nothing but the backs of people's heads. Also it rained for much of the day, my friend and I found an open marquee with some available seats and sat out most of the afternoon. There were limited opportunities to take photos . After saying that, it was something I had wanted to do for a while now. I have been had the experience don't need to do it again. My heart broke for you at the way you were treated in that restaurant. This happened to us once and it makes you feel so unwanted and it is hurtful. To have to pay for a time to be treated that way is adding insult to injury. We were very patient and kind to the server when they came but could not wait to exit as we were 'invisible'. You two are so upbeat and sweet and should have been treasured. The video was full of beauty and I, like you, Kirsten, do not like crowds at events like Flower shows. So I do what you did and go out and enjoy the fresh air while my husband took pictures as crowds do not bother him. The outside decorations were beautiful and they came with no crowds and were free. Sorry a 20 year dream fell short for you but your love for each other shone through. A good teaching video and honest. (hugs)

Oh yes, Kirsten…I’m with you! I don’t mind crowds, but when you showed that first shot of the flower show and how it was wall-to-wall people shoulder to shoulder, I said to Ian, “there’s no way I could enjoy being in that!”
Joerg did a beautiful job filming the flower show! We also love the William Morris display! Hey the display with the waning trees reminded me of Kiftsgate Garden in Gloucestershire. So pretty!
It was interesting to see all of the flowers around other parts of Chelsea that you explored! The whole area was getting in a very floral mood!

My word Dara, the crowds at the Chelsea Flower Show were madness, it was absolutely ridiculous and like that everywhere (what you saw in the beginning). Jörg didn't like it either but he has more patience so could cope more but we both agreed on the fact that we won't go there again. Chelsea in Bloom is so fun and we only saw a small fraction. Should you be in the UK next May, you can do it, it's also every year. We so LOVE the tiered afternoon tray too, it was so beautiful. Hope you're keeping very well.xx

What a beautiful flower show from what Joerg recorded. I am a big gardener, mostly for the the preservation of Monarch's, bees and birds, so this was like eye candy for me to see. I am like you Kirsten, I don't mind some people around, if I feel like I am being squeezed, the enjoyment is gone, so seeing the creative designs of the flowers, artfulness of other items in Chelsea was super fun as well. Gives me ideas for more fun in my gardens, on an island in the state of Maine (US). I truly enjoy your videos, they keep me calm and happy, thank you!

Thank you too for showing the shop displays. I couldn't believe how extravagant they were. I'm so sorry you didn't get to enjoy a delicious relaxing meal at the end, but it was really good for travelers to know about this restaurant. Travelers only have a limited number of places they get to try and it would be a shame to waste one of their meals at a place they wouldn't enjoy, so your information was very valuable to know.

Oh my! As whimsical and delightful as the show was, the number of people in attendance was just too overwhelming! It would have been impossible to appreciate the beauty and the tranquility the garden displays were intended to inspire. Perhaps the organizers might want to consider extending the show for a few days and reducing the number of daily visitors Joerg did a great job filming, despite the crowds! Chelsea 'in bloom' was truly stunning! The town captured the feeling of the show. Thank you Kirsten and especially for the honest review!!
