- LET'S GO TO YORK: ONE OF ENGLAND'S MOST BEAUTIFUL & HISTORIC CITIES// Happy Tuesday, Jörg & I are excited to share our day in York today! We share Fairfax House which is a real hidden gem in the city centre of York and so worth visiting. Walking around York that is filled with so much history you get real Harry Potter vibes. Mind you, the Shambles in York are said to be an inspiration for the fictional Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. It's a city that you fall in love with right away. Of course we show you other famous landmarks like York Minster. Hearing the bells just brings so much joy. We really hope you will enjoy the video and see you again soon. Kirsten & Jörg xx

So many happy memories of York. We’ve only visited once but you brought back such lovely memories. We stayed in an apartment quite close to York Minster and heard the bells so clearly. I think that York is one of the most beautiful cities in Great Britain.I visited it many years ago and it has stayed with me ever since .The York Minster is a wonder, Clifford 's Tower ,the lovely ancient streets, oh ! thank you for showing it to us !

Oh Kirsten and Joerg! What a wonderful tour of York!! With so much to see and do, it was difficult to chose what to film.. but your choices were outstanding! The chimes from the Minster Cathedral were so loud!!! Amazing!! I loved the harp music you chose at one point.. and the sweet drinks and desserts looked delicious! Loved your wee tour of York. Rothenburg is the only German city I've toured. My daughter's husband was stationed in Ansbach and we met up with her for a couple of days before she toured Scotland, Rome, Paris, and Amsterdam with us while he was on assignment. She said we had to see Rothenburg the one full day we had in Germany. Love that you're giving us a peak of these lovely sites in England. I've been to Scotland twice and England once for a total of about a month. There's simply not enough time to see everything I want to see there. Thanks for these tantalizing glimpses.

Here in America, when you visit historic homes you have to follow a guided tour so it ms difficult to soak up the history. Your very lucky to walk around on your own.
At least where I am from it’s all guided.

I’ve been to York, twice. The Shambles was interesting, but I found that going to the places that locals go, and talking to them, you learn much more. I found myself at Holy Trinity Good Ramgate during a bazaar to raise funds for the church. The floor was gradually sinking into the crypt below. As usual a beautiful and informative video. It looks like you had a lovely time!

Our son is in his second year at York St Johns university and we visit him lots and think him very lucky to be somewhere so beautiful and it gives us lots of opportunity to stay there! We live near to Chester and it has a similar feel with the walls and architecture etc but York just feels so much more magical I think. I really enjoy your content and am convinced that I will bump into you in and around Cheshire one day. I’ll be sure to say hello ♥️

When I walked the city wall there was no rail and wasn't as easy to enjoy the view. Quite the drop. What a lovely place!!

I'm glad you mentioned the Guy Fawkes Inn-- I stayed there a few years ago, and they were kind enough to upgrade me to a four-poster suite overlooking St. Michael le Belfrey (where Fawkes was baptized) and the Minster beyond. What a view! I felt like I could their stonework through the window. Wonderful, atmospheric pub downstairs as well. I love York, and it's always lovely to see others exploring my favourite place. I always learn something new. Thanks!

New subscriber here - you do such a good set of travelogues and I appreciate your lovely soft voices! I lived in Germany for a few years and have traveled a bit in the UK. I did find that York is so far my favorite UK destination - much nicer than London! We walked from the city wall uphill to the Minster on Sunday morning for an 8 am service and were able to enjoy the medieval streets with almost no tourists!
Oh thanks so much Lisa! Yes, we absolutely LOVE York too. When we visited 3 years ago and stayed at the Guy Fawkes Inn, we went to the Shambles at 7am and it was totally empty.
York was the first place I stayed with my boyfriend back in 1996! A really vibrant and quirky historical place. Your film made me want to go back again, especially for a dessert! Love your travel videos. Take care both. 🌹🌹

We also stayed in the Guy Fawkes Inn, a wonderfully atmospheric place to stay. They had very good ales, comfortable rooms and very good food. We're hoping to stay there again. Thank you for yet another lovely video, York repays many revisits.

I went to York with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter about 10 years ago and loved it. We walked along the wall which surrounded the city and to the “Minster” which we would call a Cathedral.
What a charming city York is..love the beautiful buildings.
I also love Georgian architecture ...it’s my favourite.

I've always wanted to visit York. The Minster bells hit my heart - I moved from England to Scotland and we don't have Church bells in the Outer Hebrides. How on earth did they build the Cathedral 900 years ago with the tools that were available to them? What about scaffolding? It's mind boggling! Best birthday present ever!!!

I love York. My first time there, I was bridesmaid to my god-mother who married in York Minster. The city and buildings are so beautiful. Also the Yorkiv Viking Centre is really interesting and York during the York Viking Festival is fun. At Christmas time it is lovely to.

Wieder tolle Aufnahmen, York hat wirklich Charme, sehr schöne alte Gebäude. Das prachtvolle Gotteshaus zu Anfang Eueres Videos finde ich besonders schön, da haben Steinmetze wirklich exzellente Arbeit geleistet.
Apropos Käthe Wohlfahrt ... wenn Ihr mal in Rothenburg o. d. T. zugegen seid, besucht doch auch das weniger bekannte aber wunderschöne kleine Städtchen Dinkelsbühl, hat eine sehenswerte Altstadt, mit komplett erhaltener, teils bewohnter Stadtmauer und schnuckeligen Gärten drumherum. Gefällt mir persönlich noch besser als Rothenburg o. d. T.

Absolutly fabulous. Thanks for taking us along. When I went on holiday from WA I went to York but it was Winter and freezing. I lost my two sisters and couldn't find the coach back to Lancashire which I finely did just in time before they set off. I hopefully will go in good weather if I ever get back to UK.
