Had multiple misfires even after changing to new index 12s, Changed fuel pump and filter. Car now runs smoothly. Thanks Dean.
Your welcome 👌 it’s always that, that’s the main issue anyway on a lot of cars and people replace everything. Even me I nearly replaced 10 injectors luckily I done a PROPER DIAGNOSIS which many garages and people don’t do before hand. Now everything is running perfectly 👌 I’m happy and can now enjoy the car. Just a shame these M5 these pumps need changing every 50k and even more if people run them low on fuel
No offence mate, but be methodical with your maintenance and over do bits that wear in a methodical way, it’s not just BMWs either. If you at a minimum met the manufacturers specs you should be right; if it’s a new purchase do it as path of the course. I believe I saw a methanol kit in the background doctor ✌🏽🇦🇺

Great video Dean! I just did my fuel filter and pump a month back and I now have issues where the fuel level fluctuates by around 20-30 miles up and down. Any idea what the cause could be? I can’t tell In the video, but should the fuel filter also have a leveling sensor? The pump and filter I have both have them. Any information will help as I have ran out of petrol once when the car read 30mi till empty.
Can you direct me on what my 2013 328i xdrive BMW needs to fix the display screen - it’s says NO SIGNAL. I’ve tried holding the volume button to reset. Any help direction is so appreciated-
Doc, can you prime the fuel pump with ISTA (bi-directional) instead of on/off of the ignition etc?

Remember doing this on my diesel e60. Took the old fuel pump apart, had a mesh type filter in it which was pretty clean.. Pump was goosed tho
Hey so I have a 2007 bmw I recently bought off someone it’s been working perfectly fine for a month now and yesterday I went to turn it on and the lights do come on but not fully the brake got stiff to. I mention the brake because my car is a push to start so I usually press the brake wen I start the car. I’m not sure why it won’t turn on I’m hoping I have to get a new battery ? The only lights I have on my dash are spark plugs and brake pads but I don’t think that has anything to do wit my car not turning on any suggestions ?
What are the symptoms of a faulty fuel pump? My E60 530i has this annoying hesitation at exactly 3k rpm, no error lights on dash. New vanos and vanos solenoids, new cam sensors and crank sensor as well. Under 3k rpm, the car drive fine. When I power it past 3k, power falls off a cliff and bucks sometimes.
Dean I have just bought a 2010 BMW 323i and what I have noticed is that the previous owner had left the vehicle for pretty much dead. And I have in such a short time noticed and repairs about of issues. But my biggest is the power loss in between 2100-3700RPM's? Do you have any direction or ideas as to what it could be resulting the issue? Any advise would be tremendous.

Hey Dean hoping you can help. Purchased a E92 on Saturday its a 2.5L, 325i 56 reg, auto, 96k miles, MOT passed last week and serviced last week. It was running fine no issues, when recently the CEL came on, 4 times the car slowed down (I drove for 40 mins earlier and it didnt happen once though) and the accelerator pedal had no input, I had to turn off the car, go into park then drive and it works fine. Also when idling it rumbles (not too bad) and the car moves left to right slightly, the revs go up to 1.2k drop and fluctuate from 450/700 revs for apprx 20/30 secs then they settle at 600ish. I unplugged the MAF sensor and this didn't happen nowhere near as drastically at idle with it unplugged, also I have error codes 2D06 29E1 29E0. Hope you can help pal 👍
hello how did you test or determine your fuel pump was bad, I'm suspecting mine is bad as well. I'm trying to see how i can test it. My M6 cranks, but won't start.

👉👉👉Help please: i own 2008 bmw x3 e83 2.0D 4x4 automatic with 145000 km (110000 miles) on the counter.A couple months back i had issues with rough idle. When i would start the engine for the first 20-40 seconds rev's would go up and down with a bit of a white smoke from the exhaust. I cleaned the injectors/new kit, new glow plugs with new module....car is fully serviced, so no issues there. Still when starting the engine i have rough idle for 10-15 seconds (no smoke) and as well while driving form low speed and when it comes to around 1000-1100 rpm's looses power/hiccup...and when i pass those revs all is fine.
I checked maf sensor, i have put new one for the test, same happened...
Is it maybe the fuel pump or something else...PLEASE advice!!!
The previous owner: changed egr, dpf, cleaned turbo. I did a good service...

Hi this has nothing to do with your video.. I hope you don’t mind I just wanted to ask you a question.. I have just got a 2008 bmw series 1 e88. It had a Sony radio in it but I changed it back to a bmw radio but my parking sensor are still not making a noise .. everything is working ok just no noise do you know if it has to be programmed to my radio unit ? Cheers geezer. Been along time since you commented, yeah bro finally got it over a acre of land now. The building has already started I’m probably gonna have the biggest workshop in the Uk and the only youtuber to have it literally next to my house 😂 just wanting for permission which ain’t gonna be a problem where I’m building and I’m building it. You know what I mean like the normal Uk garages only fit a car in IF THAT my workshop is like what they build in the USA I’m having with 2 car lifts so I can’t wait for it to be built. On top of that when I finish that I’m building a drag strip to be able to take the cars on and test after finishing them, which I’m doing later on just for myself to use which should be half a mile long 😂 so I’m looking forward to it all man I really am. It’s gonna change my channel and to be the first on CZcams in the Uk to accomplish that is a achievement on its own. I think I deserve it all anyway I waited over a year for this house and finally got it and now things will get better for me long term. I mean to accomplish that in under 3 years of doing CZcams and to now have my workshop really I’ve accomplished everything. I ever wanted now.

Mental aint the word ! I wanted to be different I didn’t just want a house with a car porch or a house with a small garage I wanted to build big and have land. I know it’s going to get me recognised and show that anyone can make it no matter how small or how big. But I know it’s going to get me recognised by bigger channels a lot especially car review channels as I’m gonna have my own drag strip land something they don’t, but also will try to rent it which I won’t be doing as it’s just for me and my future to enjoy 👌 of course I have my members who will take part and now I’m literally moved only a hour from London finally I’m in close proximity of everywhere I need to be

Ok my E60 has been sitting for over 2 1/2 years nothings been replaced should change the fuel filter and drain old petrol out or is it ok to add injector cleaner🤔

So there is no cartridge filter in line with the fuel lines going to the front of the car, like on the previous shape 5?

was that a bosch brand or bmw pump ?
attach a rope or wire to the end of the fuelpump wiring before pulling it out and you canuse the rope to pull the wires of the new pump back through.
No need it was actually very easy to do and I could get my hands in there perfectly just needed someone to grab it other end, which I did and it was easy no need for wire
Tip if you have to start the car before this job, pull the fuel pump fuse after you have positioned your car then start the car to release pressure in lines
Maybe undo your fuel cap before opening hoses etc.to help release fuel pressure & not end up dowsing your interior in petrol?just a thought 🤔👍
Have you ever done one of these ? If not, then you won’t understand. Opening the fuel cap does NOTHING these are under high pressure to start with. And as I said in the video I had just started the car to move it that’s why the pressure was built up. It happens to everyone when disconnecting the top hose. The fuel cap if that is under pressure that means you have big issues and that ain’t a good thing. The interior is a minor thing which cleaned up well after I mean petrol is a good cleaning agent after all 👌 would rather smell petrol anyday then “certain” other smells

I must say this one was very very tight. try hit it the other way first and then back the other way. if you saw the video you would of seen even I had trouble lol, the only reason the fuel filter didn't was because I had already removed it previously but before that it was super tight.

It’s so hard man 😂 I’m always driving my M135i. But I have realised there isn’t many on CZcams who own there M5 anymore. I’m about the only one who owns a E60 M5 😅 Isit really that unreliable and expensive in the wrong hands 🤷♂️

Ah yes, i changed this and regulator on my e90. Mine was leaking gas everywhere. Definitely a problem on alot of bmws

One side below the rear has the fuel pump and the other side has the filter
cant see a damn thing because of the paper cover and your hands
