Have spent a weekend with both G80 manual M3, and an M2 competition (manual). As a former racer, the M2 is still my preference as its shorter, snd as such rotates better, has better feedback, is not that much slower and overall is more fun. On the other hand, the G80 M3 is a sedan, so you can make 3 other humans lose their lunch while you drive back to work. It’s also technically a stealth fighter by comparison. At the end of the day, there really isn’t a duel between these two. Different tools for different uses. If you’re a true M devotee, the M2 is closer to the original M spirit (think E30). The G80 includes so much stuff, it’s more like a video game - albeit one that can kill you.
Executive Package should include both heated and ventilated seats. Also, I'd prefer a larger (non-motorized) sunroof that doesn't open and has a manually retractable sunshade, same weight more light. AND either fix the front end or fire the designer and fix the front end.
I like this car, but for the price __(fill in the blank)__. There's not too many I can think of that could be this much of a hoot for the weekend honestly, and the 2 door m4 is a bit more tempting for someone who's thinking of being a bit more selfish, like myself. Thank you for the video!
Great review as always 🔥 - I love the new grille - it personally evokes a nostalgic aesthetic of the 70’s 2002tii, as a modern evolution/interpretation of such. The past few M3’s have been eh ok, falling behind the C63 AMG in some ways, but that new M3 seems like they’re back in the game.

The BMW turbo 6 is best used used in a chassis of around 3500 pounds or less. Pushing around 500 pounds more as in the new M3/M4 is iffy. BMW should have probably used a small V8 but the weight would been even higher. Hopefully the M2 replacement maintains the lighter weight and excellent handling of the prior model.

@@timothysmith7478 hehe the 635 / M635 CSi is actually my top fav bmw of all time. In MotoMan’s terms, the first bmw I’d personally write a check for. I guess we can't win 'em all:)
How can you have such pretty wheels and a annoying grille.
I liked your clip because of your content and because the car surely does deliver. But I also have to make the mandatory schnoz comment. :-))) I just can't see it aging very well. On a positive note, I do believe you when you say it's second only to the M2 Comp.
Look at a 1985 635csi. Maybe not as controversial back then but definitely attractive now
@@timothysmith7478 hehe the 635 / M635 CSi is actually my top fav bmw of all time. In MotoMan’s terms, the first bmw I’d personally write a check for. Here’s why I don’t see the analogy: style-wise, that one was the same design as its contemporaries but taken one (aggressive) step up. While today (leaving the grille aside), to me the current M3 looks too generic, almost like a 2000-ish Japanese design, which is not a bad thing per se, but I don’t see it very BMW-esque. Dunno, maybe I’m just oldschool and this is avantgarde.
@@iamteaberryou A parts guy at a BMW dealer I worked at had one and 😘. I respect your opinion
@@timothysmith7478 there was a guy in my city selling his 628 a few years ago. All stock, except for the paint which was ivory with some pearlescent effect in sunlight. The import paperwork wasn’t all peachy so I don’t know whether he eventually sold it or not. Not a 635 but I’m still daydreaming about that car after all these years. 🤍 Cheers!
So cheap in the US... lucky guys!
I'm still not accepting that car's disgusting looking snout!
I'm sorry, no matter which way you spin it,, I can't unsee the ugly in this car. No thanks,
Horrible. BMW lost the plot
BMWs have become too computerized and overstated, and only allowing a stick in the base model M3 doesn’t make sense. And a once a BMW goes beyond its warranty, it’s a money pit.
