      The internet is a great place for people who don't play well with others. They get to terrorize people anonymously. I went to school with these people. This is a teenager thinking he is funny? In the future, if I were you I wouldn't even give a comment like this any mind. The minute you acknowledge it you start to make it valid. There is a saying "Never wrestle with a Pig. You are both courageous and humble enough to admit the mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, no big deal. Sometimes the mistake may look costly but pales in comparison to what we learn from it and prevents us from making a much bigger and costlier mistake down the road. Only people who try something makes mistakes not those who sit on their behinds doing nothing. Keep up the good work man.

For the price you paid you could of got a brand new transmission or just took it to a transmission shop and they would have taken it out for 400 bucks. I remember my money pit Honda Civic Si, I replaced the motor on it three times before trading it in. Got a Acura TL and was satisfied, then sold that and got a BMW and was ecstatic. Since then I purchased another BMW and couldn't be happier. Some of the mods on the Civic was MSI ignitor, NGK spark plugs, Larger injectors, AEM Cold Air intake, DC Headers, High flow cat, Header back exhaust system, Tokiko Shocks and dampers, Eibach lowering springs, front and rear struts, ...etc. And I was beat by a stock BMW 328i in both drag and track. In the drag time my reaction time was quicker as well, still slower times though. We traded cars and yup it wasn't the driver, the BMW once again pulled ahead in the 1/4 mile and got a faster time on the track.
    Bottom line, if your going to get a sporty import, the only mod that should be done to the car is injectors, turbo, and tune for engine, and springs and shocks for suspension. Anything else is a pure waste of money. But from my experience, I'm done with sporty imports.

    Damn this makes me nervous to install an intake. Question, what made you choose a PRL intake considering other brands and type of hardware used for intakes out in the market? Do the metal ones serve as being more reliable and giving more cold air to the car or vice versa? I’m not too knowledgeable in this area so I figure I’d get your input.

    I put a thermostat in backwards once on a Ford 302. Was too busy trying to figure out how the heck u keep it in place to get the neck bolted back over it. Finally I used sealer to hold it. Otherwise try hanging a picture without a nail... Needless to say I didnt notice it was backwards and the car overheated so bad the motor locked up. Good for me it cooled off and has been running fine for 5 years since. Still had me in hysterics. I was like one block from my dads house when it stopped and I just wanted to get it off the road. Everything in the engine is labeled in German. I guess this plug on top of the transmission is the filler.. Ah Ohh. "The power of dreams" ? Are you kidding me? HA! Aside from the fact that the civic R's are super ugly, they forgot to make them all wheel drive! Which essentially makes them a 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4 except the SRT4 looks better. These new Civic type r's are like a front-wheel-drive version of a viper, a bunch of horsepower with no way to control it. Anyone who would buy a Type R Civic over a golf r is out of their mind and in desperate need of slicks on their front wheels. One looks cool as hell and is all wheel drive and one looks like a Toyota Corolla with a broken nose. Honda got on the turbo bandwagon way too late and they relied on their gimmick vtecks for way too long. They were a smart band aid and were basically a poormans turbo. Calm down before you stick your cheeto in the guy's tail pipe.

    Everyone is ignoring the bigger problem with this picture. Since you have posted this video and left your self open to comments from strangers I would like to offer you a bit of kind advice. I am hoping you are aware that if you didn’t have enough money in the bank to cover an $1800 repair then you probably couldn’t afford this car in the first place. In the future I would suggest that you have put away enough money to cover all of your expenses for six months before you put down cash or finance an expensive car. It will save you a lot of hassles in the long run and save you on a rainy day. In the end if something else catastrophic happens to you, you may end up losing this vehicle or may have to declare bankrupcy, in which case others will have to pay for your mistakes. You will be much more able to enjoy this beautiful car if you don’t have that financial cloud hanging over your head. Good luck and start putting away a little each month instead of making things worse by purchasing more mods that you can’t afford. In fact you would do good by removing any mods that you had put on already and selling them and start repairing the financial ruin you are putting yourself at risk for. If you were given this car it still applies to have some financial padding before you start modding it.

You obviously care about other people so much that you put yourself out there to face criticism and embarrassment in order to help, that takes a lot of courage and it suggested to me that you are a selfless individual. You could of took your crescent wrench or alike and started cracking bolts, opening her up a tad. All you needed to do was create some room, some operating space. It was tight down there.
      What You should do right now (and video it) is take a 1/2 drive, with a couple extensions a swivel and the 10mm 12mm 13mm sockets.
      Start sucking things down. Everything you will find is loose, not tightened to spec. Suck that shit down real good.
      Torquing things real good is the key to making everything right and tight.

      Tight. Do I need to write a paper? or put forwards a thesis? Take your wrench and your god given talents and get things tight. Don't go crazy but be very aggressive.
      I'll bet $20.00 that the sensor they put in for you at the dealership was not fastened properly. You will find it is loose. Put the tool on it and crack her down tight.

    I feel for you buddy. I installed a PRL catted down pipe and front pipe on my 2017 SI. I was terrified of breaking a bolt. One of the last nuts I removed was on the exhaust side of the turbo. And wouldn't you know it I broke a bolt on the turbo!! I was totally embarrassed. I had a brand new less than 2000 miles car up on jack-stands. Had no idea how to fix it but too embarrassed to go to Honda. Took me two weeks to find the right tools to drill the bolt out and re-tap. Never done anything so invasive to a vehicle in my life. Well just letting you know there lots of us "mechanics" that make seemingly stupid mistakes.

    • @7jbossm
      @7jbossm Před 6 lety +1

      The pipes are awesome and highly recommended! Most of the nut bolt connects are easy to release. There are two lock_nuts on the turbo though. Just take your time and go easy. Plenty of pre-lubrication and solvent soak. If you feel something twisting and it is not the nut, STOP immediately. That would be your bolt twisting. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

    • @7jbossm
      @7jbossm Před 6 lety +1

      Frankly, the amount of extra sound really surprised me. It's OK. You might think it is great. All subjective. Anyway the gain in performance is what I notice the most. I use a k-tuner and any tune in combo with the pipes is awesome. I did buy from the Vit Viper" and he threw in a Stage 1 tune for k-tuner. Vit's stage 1 custom tune in combination with the pipes produces ludicrous amounts of torque starting immediately down low. Believe me I fear for my stock clutch. I think you can get a down pipe front pipe and tune (stage 1 or 2 ) combo for a special price.

Sometimes it's best to choke up so you won't have as much leverage, makes it so you can better gauge how tight you have something. When I was learning I broke a few things, but never had something this catastrophic happen.

    I think you are using the dirt trap the wrong way. If you put it spikes down the dirt can sit on top of the flat areas around the holes and get on your rag.
    But if you put it spikes up the dirt cant stay on the tips of the spikes and the dirt will go below the spikes and lay inside the holes.

Do you think I’m running lean, messed up piston, could it be just the catless downpipe or something else?
