- The Nissan Gloria Y32 is a luxury VIP sedan that was sold in Japan. This project car was crashed into, I have purchase this project to restore it into its former glory!
Another rainy day means another project 300zx Z32 drift session. I can already tell the drift car handles better after the S13 McPherson strut and suspension conversion, but there are still additional parts needed to improve the overall drifting experience..
We finally lower Tim Civic Si to the ride height he desires!

Don't swap the VG! They are pretty stout and can reliably and easily make 400 with valve springs cams and a turbo. They came in a bunch of nissan cars including the Z31 so there is plenty of after market support. A 71c s13 transmission is also bolt on if you have a manual vg bell housing

if i read currectly, the nissan gloria came with a diesel option being the RD28, which is basicly a diesel RB, so your theory stands correct, you might be able to just drop in an RB
After more reading, turns out the gloria had options all the way from the VQ25-VG30 to the infamous RB25 (neo) i believe

I wanna RD28 swap a 300zx (z31 or z32, don't matter) or any 240/180 I can find, cheap, I also found an old Maxima from the 70s, that would be sick to swap too, but I just have an RD28 with a 5 speed laying around in my house (in my bedroom out of all places)

Just if its hard to find I wanted to say I use Nissan oil filter 15208-55YOA and oem sparkplugs are NKG R BCPR5ES in the VG30I Great vid sorry about the cats

You can upgrade the clutches in the diff so they lock up better
for the oil filter part number in the future keep that wix filter number and any part store should cross it over to any brand of filter you want.

Jgtc cars have completely modified suspension and modified wheel wells/archs. There’s a recent wrx build floating around built with the same styling. Looks cool for sure.
JTCC had 19's and tube subframes that were raised in the chassis. The Primera looked so cool!

Love the content man ! As cool as it would be to swap the VG30 out of that thing. It would be so simple to swap a Z31 manual transmission and stock turbo setup with a simple intercooler system you’d be pretty close to 300hp if not maybe more depending on supporting mods. Plus NAT2 VGs with the T3 turbo sound amazing.

na- 5 spd diff is money! my 2+0 z32 slides soooo damn easy. never have intermittent locking issues. and its also a VLSD
It doesn't matter that you can't preload, research "preload is a myth" on youtube and you'll understand, all it does is to keep the spring tight and not clanking around when drooping, which a helper spring does the same thing, it gets basically fully compressed with weight sitting on it but keeps the spring from being loose when drooping.
Many coilovers, high end ones actually adjust the height directly via the spring perch, with the use of a helper spring, another perk being that your suspension travel effectively shortens the same amount as you lower the car, which is what you want to prevent a hard bottomout from the suspension being mechanically limited, instead you actually make proper use of the bump stops. You won't ever really see an actual race coil with shock length adjustment, usually just spring perch, even for super high end like AST, Nitron, MCS, etc

I have a good idea for an engine swap, a VQ35DE, it's reliable, has options for manual trans, has lots of bolt on mods, and you can find them in almost every Pathfinder, 370z and other Nissans.
You should go RB25DET! 95 and older(y33) Gloria offered RB25s and (y32) offered RD28 (diesel version to the RBs). Also believe the body is the same as the Cedric minus the front styling.
The front suspension set up an engine bay looks extremely similar to my z31 300z

The last time I tried to drift in the rain with a worn out VLSD I ended up crashing into a roundabout and turning my lower control arm into a banana. It started to slide, then it went straight, then the other side locked up and sent me up the curb. 😂

JTCC cars ran very oversized wheels, mostly custom suspension arms, and limited steering travel to prevent the wheels hitting the fenders.
Damn the Gloria looks really clean underneath. Hope you're not planning to run that car through the Chicago winters in the future... would hate to see it get all rusty!

As aZ31 owner my advice would be to keep the VG30 it’s a great engine excellent internals and even in NA form can be Turbo’d very easily also the sound is far better than any 4 banger. 😆😆😆😆

i use a z32 diff on my s13 just swap the rear cover and get the matching diff ears to match the axles
in your case you would need a s13 diff with 5 bolt ears or a s14 diff easy bolt on choise , but any z32 manual NON TURBO z32 diff is the same gearing as the s13 4:08 gearing.... on another note that gloria should have some chassis similarities with the infinity Q45 if you run into any at the wrecking yards
Just a suggestion but I totally think you should put air suspension on the gloria
Especially if you’re just going to daily it also I think it’s just kind of fits with the whole VIP look and in my opinion it’s way fancier and kind of matches the style of the Gloria plus you will not scrape that much so you won’t damage those rear parts but it’s just a suggestion I think it would look sick I’m curious to know what your opinions are you do know more than me when it comes to cars in general so you definitely know what you’re talking about if you don’t think it’s a good idea but I’m curious to see what you think of it
