It's taken me almost four months after open heart surgery to get back on my bike, and there's a very good reason for that. However, it's great to be back on the bike and I'm planning a number of cycle touring, or bikepacking, trips for this summer.

I've found this to be a really useful tool, mostly for checking tyre pressures on different kinds of terrain. For example, using this tool it's very easy to deflate the tyre a bit when on rough ground and inflate it again when yoiu reach tarmac, and all done in seconds. I'm based in the Scottish Highlands and I use a VW campervan to access the great outdoors, where I climb hills, ride my e-bike or gravel bike and just visit some of those places I've never been to. That was a video that gladdened my heart. Ten years ago next week I woke up in intensive care after emergency open-heart surgery to repair a damaged mitral valve. It is surprising how quick the body mends. I was out of hospital at the end of the fifth day and two weeks later I was walking about at the Glastonbury Festival. But it was four months before I was allowed to drive again and quite a lot longer before I could walk up a mountain or ride my bike. The breast bone has long since fused back together but I still get pains in that area when heavy lifting, as I found out this spring when I had to rebuild an old stone wall at my house.
Congratulations on your recovery. I have my operation yet to come. Hopefully within the next month or two. Next year I am hoping for a long bike trip in Europe somewhere. Somewhere where it is relatively flat!!!! Looking forward to your next video.

It's good to see you out and about on your bikes again. Remember you still get fit on your e bike you just go further in the time you have on the bike. I fitted my bike carrier to my tow bar for the first time and transported my bike to a local wood and had a cycle and returned home so now I am all prepared for summer expeditions. I need a bike pump and an inner tube but that inflator is too rich for me even with your discount. Sorry.

Great to see you out on the bike Cameron and you were going a fair pace! I have never really cycled and having just stood down from MRT and early retired definitely looking for a new hobby. We have just bought a Mirider E bike for the van. However like the look of your Trek. Great to see you getting back to fitness.
