That looks like a good option for those on a budget but I have to agree with the previous comment that it is in my opinion better to buy from an independent bike shop so you have relationship to ask any questions or have it serviced and be able to buy spares or get a repair done. When I bought my eMTB I could have saved a good chunk of money online but in the end I bought from an independent shop in Auchterarder and I cannot fault them in any way and would highly recommend them.
I plan on bagging all munros in Scotland and I'm aware a few of them require a long walk in, so I am looking into getting an e-bike. Will check this company out thanks.
Combined with cycle to work and our local bike shop we managed to pick up a Merida eSpeeder 400 for £1400. It's got full Deore kit, carbon components such as fork, seatpost and bars, light wheels and quality Continental tyres, as well as the well known Mahle hub system. It's a brilliant bit of kit, and weighs only 12kg or so. Plus LBS as back up when needed for the 2 year warranty. It's transformed our riding - we're the Highlands too, and a light eBike on slightly chunky gravel tyres is a perfect bike for a lot of riding.
It’s not my sort of bike and for a hub drive it is a tad heavy considering most are coming in at 12kg, 7 kg makes a big difference if you are disabled or run out of power. Mid drive bikes are a far better option for many reasons. The one thing I will say is your far better to buy an e-bike from your local bike store and build a relationship with them as they can make sure you get a bike that fits you but more importantly if anything goes wrong with your bike they are on hand to repair it and get the correct spares. They shall also do softwear updates etc. It may be a reasonable price but sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and I’m not sure if you wanted to progress to a better bike how this would resell.
Nicely filmed review, Cameron. The ergonomically styled flat looking handle bar grips look comfortable. Overall, I think Heybikes are quite nice looking - maybe my wife would like one :-)
@@CameronMcNeishOutdoors The battery is 504wh, eco mode I can get about 80miles, but like all bikes depends on the terrain conditions etc, bike says 113miles when fully charged but would be very hard to achieve imo

I would say so Colin. You'll certainly find cheaper bikes but they will be considerably heavier and with more basic components. And you'll definitely find more expensive e-bikes, going up to about £12K. Hub motor e-bikes, like this one, are cheaper than the others which probably start at about £3K or so.
Each to his own but I find this method of opening an e-bike box offers you access to everything very quickly and gives you a clean platform on which to build up the bike. If you have a better method let's hear about it.

Another cheap ebike is the Vitus E MACH 3, shimano mid drive and a big battery I paid £1600 on sale currently.

You need to brush up on your electric units though, the motor will be 250w not 250v, and the battery capacity will be 360wh not 360w.
I dont know where you are getting most electric hub bikes are coming in at 12kg from as most standard non electric bikes weight more than that.
