People really like to hate on Lars, but I don't get it. He isn't the best drummer in the world, but he is doing just fine for what Metallica needs. It seems as though people have forgotten that it was Lars who started the band, and that he was actually in the stearing wheel back in the 80s when Metallica was at their peak. Cliff was talented and had some great musical insight and James was a riffing master, but Lars put it all together! He had a sense of how to create melodics within the riffs, and when I spoke to Flemming Rasmussen once, he said that Lars made the decisions when it came to the overall style and sound of the albums back then. Whether you like it or not, Lars it Metallica 🔥
he used to be given the best drummer back then in 90s. I remember RIP magazine gave him that award.
Grammatical Erorr Well, I actually think he was above average back then even. When you see him in the 80s, he seemed like a drummer with a lot of potential.... don't know what happened -Still has chubs though ;)
Michael Holmgaard I've always been a fan of Lars. Though he didn't necessarily start the band, as the story goes he showed up to James's audition for a drummer and James thought he was never going to see Lars again but then Lars came back and was like "so guys guess what I got a dude who wants to promote our stuff" and James was like bro. So Lars really absolutely has always been the front runner of all Metallica interests and that's what I love. For him it's about the band and just that. Like you said he IS Metallica.
Also look at how incredibly well spoken he is, I mean he is a damn intelligent dude.
