Great observation. He was dooing this show in Norway for years. Then the Swedes started paying him like eight years back or something to make the show in Stockholm. So he expanded to swedish TV as well as Norwegian, and became a media favorite in Sweden as well.
Then he moved Studio to London a couple of years, and now New York City.
He has had all sorts of people on, Barack Obama, Desmond Tutu, Bruce Springsteen. All sorts of celebs.

he's got a ego as big as the sun!.. and thats one of the biggest reasons metallica has lasted as long as they have, he's a clever guy no question about that.. he's passion and drive is tenacious, the guy never had a professional drum lesson in his life and created the biggest metal band on the planet... thats impressive, i used to be a drummer and yea his timing is not the best but in all fairness metallica never was about that.. metallica was always about being raw strait out the garage and go for it.. 90% of the haters are a bit simple tbh and dont know a fat lot...

I like how subtle Lars is to the fact that playing live these days, wears him and the band the fuck out and is probably the reason why he can't properly do dbass chops anymore. Most people don't know that he's half deaf due to Tinnitus. I'm sure he'd love to be in his 20's and 30's again. The guy was at his peak and could nail all his parts near perfect or even better than the studio versions. It's a damn shame these guys are getting older.
Even ol' Dave Mustaine is having a rough trip with his health. Dude had neck surgery and its fucked up his voice quite a bit and his movements are so ridgid, while onstage.

i am very glad to hear that Lars does not smack his tongue and lips much when he speaks..or at least he didn't here. I think maybe enough people gave him shit on social media that he made an effort to become aware of it and stop. It's much easier to listen to him these days. for about a decade or more, i just couldn't stand listening to him work in sentences around all the focking lip smacking. kudos, Lars!

There was a famous clip from that Metallica documentary film, "Some Kind Of Monster" from ten-fifthty years ago where Bob Rock comes to listen to some of the stuff where the band was working on and they saw Bob standing over the mixing desk and he didn't look too pleased and then Lars asked Rock what he thinks of this music. Then there was long long long pause and Bob says "I would delete that." It was very funny.

Im Dutch and I can clearly hear the L in there, seems like an English language thing where there is way more accent on the pronuncation of the letter L. Not the case in Scandinavian or Dutch. The German L is closer to the English L.

I may be making a lot of fuzz for such a (to some people) minuscule/insignificant problem - some would probably say I blowing it out of proportion, but to start off by contradicting myself in fear of being misunderstood or having an unfortunate language barrier to make matters worse, I reluctantly have to formulate this in english despite being highly against it of reasons I'm about to elaborate now:
To be honest, as a dane, and thereby a proud scandinavian I find it a bit sad, well even disrespectful if I may be so frank, that two Scandinavians have to resort to conversing in english with each other on the false pretense that danish is just gibberish that can't be understood/comprehended and thus being unprocurable in communicating properly - "too much would be lost in translation" I presume is the main reason. I imagine that often most do just prefer the lazy/easy way by switching to English to avoid all the hassle of dealing with listening to danish.
Here is my criticism directed solely at the Norwegian host, Fredrik Skavlan, since he ultimately took the decision to switch over to english and has done so in every other interview I have encountered with danish guests. This is something I have noticed that Skavlan (even as the biggest talkshow in the nordic countries) in particular have failed at or neglected whenever a danish would appear on the show.
I get that danish is a tad, not to say very challenging for norwegians and swedes to understand but still, at least make an effort - an attempt at the minimum. In general danes have little to no difficulty understanding written and even spoken norwegian, swedish though, is a different story, but the scanian dialect is of obvious (geographical/historical) reasons easier for danes to understand.
I find it a little lack of respect on behalf of the danish people that swedes and norwegians in an almost passive underlying way seems to be alienating Denmark as a "foreign nation" in relation to the scandinavian culture and unity and in this context especially the danish language. You know, Denmark being continental and all as to the "real" scandinavian countries on the the scandinavian peninsula. Furthermore as said before, language is a huge part of our shared scandinavian/nordic culture and history, including the danish language equally as norwegian and swedish. But excluding a member from the group, sorta speak in this case Denmark, is just plain wrong and certainly not very brotherly, not something you would expect from your fellow Scandinavians. I know I come off as a butthurt, ranting dane, that's overdramatizing a trivial subject, but that still doesn't change the point I'm trying to emphasize and the underlying problem within.
All the scandinavian languages have their roots in old norse, and it's "only" the pronunciation that our neighbors from north the struggle to understand, if not even mocking or ridiculing the danish language - albeit I must admit, mostly in a loving/humorous way.
    To sum it up:
Look let me be clear, I don't expect nor demand Norwegians or swedes to fully understand danish, but by all that's holy have the decency and respect to give it a shot at the least. Before anyone points it out, yes I'm also fully aware and frustrated by the lack of commitment and effort that danes show in learning or communicating in the other scandinavian languages, but it still doesn't change my point. I'm very disappointed indeed about my fellow scandinavian brethren.. come on guys.. It just come off as rude and arrogant to be brutally honest.
