I love my DR 2020 bastions. I was surprised i took the same size as my GS and Redwings. Smaller didn’t feel. They ended up as one of the best first in my collection

As I gain more experience with cypress I am noticing that it is more resilient than Dublin. I find the scratches and scuffs easier to blend in on cypress. -Phil ps you should change your name to Boot Lord
I was so close to buying these but saw the newest Viberg releases from Gerhard Supply. I snapped up the 2020 Maryam horsebutt instead of the DR Cypress
These are cool, I have the Trumans in the modified 20 last all eyelets, one piece backstay on the in house honey lug sole, 270 flat welt in the Horween Natural Cypress. The boot is very close to a Viberg 310. My understanding of Cypress is it is a short chrome tan and an extra long veg retan and waxed.
I would like to see more cypress I find Seidel Esmonda leather has a similar feel and temper.
I do want a Viberg Halkett pair in my rotation the Du Puy calf versions look great.
I wish they used that style toe cap more. The btc looks to me at least a bit to fancy.
Seems like Division Road gets the best Viberg builds. With no sizes over 12, the temptation to drop a grand or so isn't a factor for me (US 13.5 Brannock).

I have a pair of Nick’s Robert in English tan, not cypress, and after 5 years the color is very close to this English tan cypress. I am wondering how the color will evolve with time. So, I hope you will have some follow up in the future.

I’m lucky enough to own two pairs of Vibergs in Essex Chestnut and Sweet Potato suede. Both are my pride and joy. But these in English Tan Cypress are incredible.
I just love Viberg… apart from a squeak I have in my Essex tans. That isn’t so good, though. What’s your experience of squeaks in the sole construction? Does it go eventually with wear?
@darrenhall7454 Have you tried sprinkling a little baby powder (talcum powder) in the boots to alleviate the squeak?
The squeaks can go away with wear but I find more often than not it’s a permanent feature of the boot!
I believe Cypress is a Chrome Tanned leather with a vegetable re-tan.
