I have three pairs in Seidel Oxblood DS.
This version , an exclusive from Butter scotch LB on a black christy wedge and a 6” on the commando sole. Double Shot is tough AF, people need to stop comparing this to CXL, not the same at all. I’d take this over CXL any day of the week.
I do still like CXL but not a first choice.
The boots stopped at the Boot Hall of Fame before heading to their home.
Those backpacks are beautiful. Oxblood and Olive predator are special kinds of leather. If you're using your pack regularly it'd be cool to see how it ages!

The oxblood double shot leather is one of the most gorgeous oxblood shades I've seen. The leather itself is also super robust. My Truman Captoes in this leather is lying in th closet waiting for its first wear!

7:20: the temper of leather is influencenced by many things!! (apart from the choice of animal) one of the steps where the tanners have lots of control over it even before the tanning, is a process where the hides are treated with different substances like lime and sulfide. these open the fibres and destroy the animals hair (in german its called äscher und schwöde^^). in this process you can navigate how movable you want the fibres to be. also there are steps where it can be controled how many tannins will stick to the fibre structure (the more, the stiffer). things like the type of tannin, the finishing and the fat content also heavily influence the leathers temper. 8:30: to my knowledge cxl and double shot both are combination tanned, which means they get a vegetable retan. when this process is long enough, its brownish tannin colour will penetrate the whole thickness until the blueish chrome tan colour is no longer visible.
I need to stop buying boots and break in the ones I have! Dangit!
Edit: $600 is reasonable for these bags. Not my thing but gorgeous and totally worth the price. If you ran a weekender duffle, I’d pay up front for something like that in this burgundy double shot.
These are hands down my favorite Truman boots. I'd love if Truman had a MTO plain toe Upland Oxblood. Instant buy for me.
These were my first Truman’s and I’ve been hooked ever since! This might be a hot take but I’ll take double shot over CXL any day. It’s thick and hefty yet supple, and the depth of color and pull up is amazing! These boots started my Truman love and now I’m on 4th pair and still counting😬

I was so exited when Truman had the cognac horsebut, however there were no speed hooks. Why would they not have them as an option? And now the cinnamon horsebut the same way. Would be tempted to have a local cobbler put some in, but they don't have the good hooks like Truman(or my Nicks).
I think they mentioned on IG there was a shortage of speed hooks from their supplier so they had to go with regular eyelets. I agree, no speed hooks, no bueno
If there is a shortage, then why have there been several batches put out with hooks recently? Instead of Instagram they should have a pinned comment about it on their main page.
I have these in commando sole, but will be honest I kind of like the Eugene sole a little bit more.
Recently received my pair of Oxblood and I was extremely underwhelmed by the color. Not a whole lot of red and a lot of browns. They fit beautifully though...
Keep wearing them they will lighten up and show their oxbloodiness in time

I liked the other last better. Wider at the waist of the vamp or whatever. They have some new versions that I think are pretty, but they don't want to do anything like taller shafts and other features now I guess, so I don't know how he got a wide width and such because I never notice any when I check the site and have three pairs that are all a bit too narrow or something that look nice but don't fit as well as I would like.
Seems like the bag should have a belt somewhere on there. I can dream that I would have some use for such a leather knapsack, but I pretty much don't even use the other ones I already have that cost way less at least.
I guess if I was paying a significant amount of money for one, I might want more custom details, but then is most at some camping store will be one of three designs? Big difference between backpacking vs. driving to some spot and then carrying stuff half a mile or whatever.
I messaged them. Everytime they'd have a sneak peek of an upcoming leather that I wanted, or released a batch that I wanted that wasn't available in my size, I would email. I believe these were not made in my size. Upon receiving my email, they offered to make me a pair (I happily agreed). They do seem to be offering more customizations in their upcoming releases though.
Think I like more than the Iron Rangers.
