    In Malaysia, after 17yrs (since Richard reviewed it) Perodua Kelisa still hold a very good high value for a second hand car. It is all because of its reliability, good gas consumption and simple yet practical look

    My neighbour has one of these things. He's had it from new in 2003 and it's now done over 170,000 miles. He's never had a problem with it and drives it all over Europe (from the UK). He did have after market air-con fitted. He loves it.

      @@BibiMizrah It was reliable, but the only issue I had was with the drive belt because it used the alternator as tension it would sometimes become loose even with brand new bolts and was a real pain to get to. I would get rid of the car just because of that honestly.

    I have to admit, I really wish I bought this car when it first came out. It is so well built that 120,000km mileage in it can easily be achieved, I repeat, EASILY. In terms of pricing, if you’re complaining it’s too expensive I suggest you buy a motorcycle because you’re a cheapskate. What really surprises me is that in 2019 with all the modern looking cars appearing on Malaysian roads, I slowly begin to appreciate the sleek understated looks of this car. Of course, the stock rims are horrible but you can easily swap that out for others but other than that, I think the car looks quite minimalist. If you want to take a step further you can swap out the radio with a DVD player to give it a ‘modern’ feel and better halogen or LED lights for night drives. To those who got the chance to own one, I can only say that I’m so envious that you had the chance to drive a reliable, well built and handsome car 😢

    spot on about depreciation - when represented as a %age of the original purchase price however if you pay £x for a car thats the most hard cash you can lose. So yeah a Polo may lose less as a % of purchase price than say a Punto but when FIAT dealers have to bargain hard to sell you one then you lose less in hard cash when you sell the FIAT.

    LOL.. I never realised Hamster would even conceive of driving such a vehicle now he has the Top Gear bug and flies to the studio in his own chopper (albeit a really really crappy ancient looking one that I'd probably refuse a lift in for fear of crash landing) Haven't been in this particular P'dua but rode in another and it was horrid. This one I guess looks pretty similar to a Micra so isn't too offensive and equipment sounds decent for the money but I ask myself why I have not come accross one recently in the cheap car ads and the answer must be they are crap and all scrapped

    • @eccIefechan
      @eccIefechan Před 10 lety +1

      Well, they hardly sold well here and were probably mostly bought by pensioners who hold onto cars longer than most, so I'm not sure if they've all been scrapped. Having said that though, I saw an 03 reg one in a scrapyard in January 2011, less than 8 years old!
