    I had this car. It is insane. It is extremely responsive, as soon as the traffic light turns green, you pull off in a few micro seconds leaving all those big engine cars behind for the next 100 yards. The engine noise makes you feel doing 100 mph in a rally car when actually doing 30 LOL.

    I have one in red from 2000. I named it Raketten (Danish for "the Rocket")
    People allways think I mean sarcasticly, but I am dead serious. The acceleration in this tiny car feels almost as strong as it did in my BMW 320i. :-D

    I have a 2005 Cuore. It has no airco and no powersteering. All that power goes to the front wheels and i can tell you i leave most GTI far behind at the trafficlights. I love my Cuore who we lovingly call "The Bobmobiel" :)

      I have an 1999 one, the same one as this. It is still surprisingly fast at the traffic lights, and I often leave a lot faster cars behind me. I do not have a lot of luxory as well, but I drove faster and newer cars and I do not feel I am missing much with my version of the Bobmobiel.

    Had it's predecessor L500 as my first car since junior year of high school up until college sophomore year. Even smaller than this L701, and quirkier with a manual transmission and bare bones, it was a fun little machine. Not to mention it was the lightest car in the local used car market.

    A pity the UK never received the related Classic Mini-inspired Daihatsu Mira Gino, though now featuring more potent 85-108+ hp 1.3 K3-VE engines from the Daihatsu Sirion otherwise known as Blue Turd spec for any MCM fans out there or even the 127-138 hp 1.3 Turbo V3-VET unit from the Daihatsu YRV and Daihatsu Terios (assuming it fits in easily).

    • @RavenAii
      @RavenAii Před 8 lety +1

      No to mention the conversion from FWD to AWD. Surprisingly this car has tons of mod that the owners can do. As far as I know there are several YRV turbo conversion done at my place and the engine fits perfectly in the engine bay with slight adjustment to the engine bay bracket and crossings with suspension tuning to accommodate the larger and heavier engine. With weight just under 800Kg it is kinda fast with the 1.0L EJ engine. Planning on getting the K3-VET in the future to put it in my car which is a Perodua Kelisa and already 11 years old with the same EJ engine since it was bought.

      It's a beast of a car. It goes very quick on the motorway. I do lots of motorway driving from London to North of England. It never once broke down and definitely feels more like a 1.4 litre car rather than a 1 litre car. Especially for a car which is 19 years old.

      Mira (L700,Cuore/Kelisa in Japan) had a type called ``Mira Gino'' that looked very similar to the Mini of the 1950s.
      When Daihatsu was pointed about the similarities by journalists and customers, they responded by saying, ``We made it look like our company's 1960s Compagno.''
      However, when the 2nd generation Mira Gino(L650, known as Trevis in EU) was released, it looked so much like the 2000s BMW Mini that Daihatsu exposed the lie themselves.
      Japanese journalists and customers slipped and fell to the floor, following the traditional reaction of Osakan comedy.
