In this video, I raise a snarling panther face from a silicon bronze sheet. This is part of a larger project that will be featured in a future video. 18 gauge bronze sheet metal is first raised hot over a ball stake to create a bulge. The rough features are then formed over various stakes, then moving to punches and chisels and finally to a pitch backer to create the finer detail. The fangs were formed from the parent sheet and pushed forward, cutting away the background. They were then welded from behind, shaped with a grinder, and a filler plate was then formed and welded in from behind to create a shape with full coverage but a lot of undercut depth.

The big fangs add something quite demonic to the appearance. Looks awesome!

Neat work! One thing that stood out to me (as a cat person) the ears of a cat would usually be down and back when making that kind of face (think hissing) which made it look a little odd to me expression wise. The craftsmanship is still incredible!

Thak, if you're going to kick this habit of yours, you're going to have to make a cod-piece to even yourself out. I suggest a dragon, a rooster, or a codfish.

Traditional bronze used 10 per cent tin as its allowing element....silicon bronze uses silicon instead of tin...similar result
