I approve of your "window smithing". Looking good!
Its crazy how many times you have to refit and recheck before its finally in the right place. I learned that the hard way the first time I welded a panel an inch off. Nothing Is permanent until the very end!
as long as you're willing to keep cutting and welding todo es posible!
It was so satisfying watching you clean those glass window strips without snapping one. It so unusual to see young people demonstrating that level of careful dexterity. 🙏 live long and prosper dudes! 🖖
Wow, good job! You made 50 year old windows look like new🎉
“A dumb robot” 😂😂 I don’t understand any of this but I enjoy listening to you 🙂
Solid work brother. ✌️
Pure vida!
GREAT CAMERA WORK COMPOUNDED BY AWESOME CONTENT,tanks for sharing...
Good job amigo. 🤙🏾🥳
Thanks fam!
I'm jealous of your jealousy window fit
After your extreme roof replacement, it has to feel incredible to have that fit confirmation from the louvered window! Looks fantastic and will definitely be referencing this video when I go to rebuild my louvered windows!
It was certainly a big relief. Now I am just waiting on the back order windshield seal to test out that fit!
Lo tienes todo amigo un gran auto y una gran compañera éxito y esperamos más vídeos tienes un nuevo fan
Gracias Carlos, me siento muy afortunado de tenerte esta companera.
Sodie Pops give you the confidence to finish any project.
Couldn’t have said it better my self
You guys are crushing this resto
Just trying to stay consistent!
Your workmanship is amazing 😃
Thank you so much 😀
If you cut the corner off the glass seal they fit better and a little easier to put together.
I did try that on one and it worked but I felt like cutting the seals was a bad idea, but honestly I don't know how much water would get through that part of the window either way
Nice work
Thanks!
Great video. I found using fine steel wool on dry glass is an awesome way of removing the old crud on glass. It's also made great way to clean a windshield of bugs before applying a glass treatment. Steel wool Must be dry though. The glass is super smooth afterwards.
I gotta give that a try! Thanks for the tip
Watching this, I'm glad I didn't go that route. Just cleaned mine up and polished them. (my seals were in much better condition.) Awesome job - great content.
Lucky! If my seals weren't all dry rotted I would have just cleaned them up too lol
@@VangabondersA little at a time - it will come together. Thats what I keep trying to convince myself of. Just spent more time and agony then should have been possible fixing a rear vent window and getting the glass in place
That was a fun video to put together! Good work, one less problem to worry about. 😁
You got that right!
Great job on the window even though I can't stand those things!! I find them unsightly, they rattle (maybe not as much when rebuilt) and they obscure my vision. Thanks for another great video!!!
I honestly loved their usefulness when I lived in the bus, hopefully they won't rattle with these new seals
Yes - very popular in downstairs toilets back in the sixties 😊
damn good job, I did my otter seals and looked at the work needed for the inner seals and said "Nope". I hand / dremel polished all my aluminum, and I wish I would have found that boat aluminum acid. Overall though my Jalousies look "okay" but not as brand new as yours. Maybe I will do this repair but probably not until I want to go through the pain of repainting my bus. Also be careful installing your Jalousie after you paint because they have sharp corners and can easily scratch your new paint job, ask me how I know.
great work
Thank you! Cheers!
If you cut the corner off the glass seal they fit better and a little easier to put together This was the most un-fun part of a Westy resto that I did. Broke a glass too
🤗👌👍⭐
You're a window glazer!
haha is that what they call it?
Quick heat with torch and pb blaster will get out screws as well may take 3 or 4 tries just don't strip the screws. Not that I'm disassembling a window as I watch this. Ps polishing a 50 yr old jalousie window sucks alot !!! Damn nooks and crannies
Great Content, thank you 👍
Glad you liked it!
You should buff the frame since it’s aluminum

Well done, that was quite the process. Quick question. Are those windows more sought after than a regular window. ??? I have both so 2 options
I'm not sure if they are more sought out but I certainly like them and found them very useful when I lived in this bus
@@Vangabonders Ok. Makes sense
there was a dude on the samba ( i think ) selling jalousie hardware kits for like 10 bucks. All new screws....if you want those to be new also
Thanks for the heads up! I’m gonna check it out for my other rebuild and may go ahead and change the screws on this one. I’m definitely doing stainless for the inside one!
Great video ! I’m currently trying to do the same I’m on the rebuild started trying to get the 3 windows built back up but can’t get the window frame to go back on with the glass and seal it’s super tight and the glass feels very thin ! Any suggestions?
Have you tried using glass cleaner to lubricate it? That’s the only way I could get them to slide together
@@Vangabonders I’ve been using silicone spray with no luck whatsoever did you start with the top or bottom or the sides ?
I did the bottom then the sides and then the top. Make sure they're facing the right way @@318ismash
@@Vangabonders that’s the way I’ve been trying bottom first , just have to keep trying! Cheers for the reply
This was the most un-fun part of a Westy resto that I did. Broke a glass too!
Did it break when you were taking it apart? That’s scary. Glad we didn’t have any accidents
@@Vangabonders it broke trying to get some of those screws out.
