In this home improvement project I'm removing a bar and building a bedroom and bathroom. This family has more kids than bedrooms upstairs. A lucky 14 year old teenager is going to get to have this awesome basement.
Bro this guy don't need any help ! Now that's a real worker right here !
Just really nice to see an honest handyman. Keep up the amazing work great stuff !!!!
Your videos are very educational, and I reeeeally hope one day I get to be as good of a handyman as you are. Thanks for sharing.
Whenever I'm leaving a dead cable in the wall I like to twist the conductors together and wire nut them. That way if in the future someone is doing a remodel or something and attempts to energize this cable it will immediately create a dead short, otherwise they may end up leaving an open air energized conductor in a cavity just waiting to cause problems. Do this on both ends of the cable and label it something like dead 1 or dead A, if you do this on a separate cable dead 2 or dead b etc.
My cousin's house burnt down from a bathroom fan. They are pretty dangerous and should have their own switch. They should only be run when needed. I suspect it was dirty or left on for too long, not sure, it was years ago. Anyway, I would suggest both switches, but that's just me! Keep at it handyman, old vid but this one is awesome so far.
Oh, handyman, I need you to come to Buffalo!
Man I wish I had all the skills as you do to do this stuff myself! Save tons of money for sure.
Damn! At the dump in my county the most expensive material is “Construction Waste” (what you had) and it’s something like $50/ton. What a difference
Love watching your video's!!!!
Hahaha Says "Let's go this way" and proceeds to take out a sledge hammer! Ah, Priceless
Matt James he's having too much fun on demo lol
Yeah I saw the hammer them his face...
Haha!
The look on his face after that second kick is hysterical 😂
hahaaa
On two different houses, I've had a basement doors cut out by a guy with a gas motor, stationary circular saw with a two foot or so blade.. It was water cooled, and bolted to the outside foundation wall, and no dust that came inside. I don't remember the cost, but it seemed very reasonable at the time (40 years ago).
Just stumbled on your videos, love them! Subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more projects.
Thanks for taking the time to say hello.
man i was just getting intreasted at the end with the plumbing. no just kidding the hole video is awesome. Can't wait for part 2. looks like a fun project.
Thanks.
What is your favorite thing to do out of like carpentry electrical and plumbing? For plumbing do you use pex i noticed in a lot of your plumbing repairs or adding water lines you use copper just wondering if you use pex at all or not?
I use pex a lot. I use all pex for the hot and cold lines to the shower for this bathroom. Before I went to college I was an electrician. Electrical work is very easy for me. A remodel like this one is what makes the money. Sanding drywall has to be one of the worst jobs. If I could pick just one thing to do It would be some kind of cabinet building.
Good job 👍 I enjoyed it
It's nice to see someone not take a sledge hammer to everything, these reality flipper seem to think demo needs to be destruction when just taking a few screws out is easier and less mess.
First, I like the videos, and you do good work. Second, I do similar work to you what you do, and I really wish the jobs went as fast as what your videos make it seem. Haha. With fast forward engaged, you are putting a lot of time and work into 12 minutes of video.
Thanks, Most 10 min videos start out around 1 hour and 45 min of video footage. I try to condense them down to show the highlights.
Do you help your customers with design or do they mostly just tell you how they'd like it?
I try to stay out of the design.
Love your channel man, keep you the good work. You make it look easy.
Thanks
I like it
Love your work! I have an ask. Have you ever done a job with the removal of a built in acrylic bathtub? I want to remove one and install a stand alone with the water spout coming out if the wall. Can't seem to find this job anywhere
Holy crap! $73? That was a $5.25 load here in NM.
The classic shake off the dust...lol
Hey man that’s cool
Was the height of the bathroom exhaust vent, as well as the adjacent (dryer) vent up to the local code? I was less than a foot off of the ground. Won't snow block it?
I like to project to learn about handyman
Do you save up scrap copper? I do, I have a mountain now.
What do you do when you want to take walks down but the drywall was painted with lead paint
Nice video, specially the cam knocking part! What kind of wood do you use for the framing?
they are called framing studs. Just 2x4s from Lowes. they are called out as white wood. Its some kind of pine.
When you hit the table with a sledgehammer and the camera fell for some reason I thought that was the funniest thing 😂
Great video , What do you use to edit your videos ?
is this like a crawl space under a basement? I don't think I've seen that before.
Yes. In areas that have expansive soils a concrete slab can't be put down as a basement floor because it would go up and down to much. This house has a structural sub floor above the dirt.
Dude my brother blew his MCL and ACL kicking like that.
+Ronald Lopez was he a trained ninja?
Don't worry, be happy!.he and mayhem are going on a date if he keep it up.He's good at just about everything except safety.but let me make this perfectly clear .I never want to see or hear about anyone getting hurt.
At least didn’t blow out his nut 🥜 aw shit
How much do you charge for this work to add a bathroom and closet? I am currently interested in incorporating this to my basement but would like to know the general ball park figure
Ball park is $20,000
Lol when the light came up with the bar top xD
hahaha,, 1:59 "lets go this way..." CRASH... "son of a..."
Love your vids , very entertaining and I leavened something new today . Keep it up
Cool. Thanks for watching.
lol lets go this way/ bruce lee dance/ hahaha meet sledge hammer lol fatality
New here but good work
How long did it take you to do all the work
This was about 3 weeks. I told the customer 4 weeks. I always tell them it will take longer then I think in case something comes up.
The Handyman awesome worknman. I also work alone so i was just wondering. Thanks for your videos
Does this basement have a crawlspace?
It does. The expansive soils in this area do not allow for a slab on grade floor.
The Handyman interesting. We want to redo the basement and I believe we have that issue. Hmmm so we have to make a sub floor?
крутяк коллега
LOL at 2:29 i dodged
Wasn't expecting cave exploration
Wish you could do something about the audio.
Its in the works. Mic should be here tomorrow
Why don't you and mayhem do a commercial together, lol.
With all due respect to his lovely wife, this guy's a hottie! Like "if Hugh Jackman and Robin Thicke were related and this guy was their brother" Hot! 😀😁😂🤣😃😄😅
Thanks
I did have the bronze to say that'!!! I so agree! She is a blessed woman!
Lol 10 minutes into project and he finds a rats nest of Romex
Remove the bar and put in a bedroom?? Clearly a chick made this decision.
Who else was sad too see the bar go ?
