I’m so appreciative of the people that take the time to timelapse renovations. I’m literally sitting on the toilet watching a guy renovating a restroom…
😂 Thanks, appreciate it!
FINALLY SOMEONE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO HAVE THE SHOWER VALVE AT TH ENTRANCE TO THE SHOWER
Makes all the difference!!
For a first time you sure knocked it out of the park. Beautiful! And done right, too! 👍
It's not something everyone can do. The fact that you always had the right hand and power tools for the job indicates you have been doing handyman work at least for a while. And that's great! We as a society are in desperate need of folks who can work with their hands.
My dad was a mechanic and worked on everything from airplanes in the Navy to installing the turbine furnaces in steel mills. He fixed and remodeled everything at home. He was proud of his work and I was proud of him.
Don't sell yourself short....not everyone could, or should, be doing what you accomplished. 😊
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!
Beautiful work. Congrats.
I just...I don't understand...Are you a Plumber AND Electrician too? How could you have possibly done all of this without formal training? I am new to your channel (precisely just 1 video in and promptly subscribed at the end of that one) so maybe you describe your background or vocation in another video. You gave me superwoman confidence after that first video that I too could build a floating bed, but now you're installing pipes and drains? Seriously, you can't have learned all of this just watching other channels! I nearly wept watching this video. Just, so stunningly masterful!
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment, I really appreciate it. Bianca and I did a Q&A awhile back where we answer some the questions regarding our backgrounds, but to summarize: we are both accountants by trade. I have been doing DIY projects for the past several years learning along the way with no formal training (just CZcams haha). I recently quit my consulting job to work on this lake house and social media full-time. While Bianca still works a 9-5, she helps out where she can so you'll see her from time to time in the videos. I still have a lot to learn myself, so glad you found the channel and you can learn along with me!
@@GoldenKeyDesign what was the size of the room
@@muhammederoglu3292 Roughly 6x10 feet
You don’t have to be a plumber to use a sharkbite they work but we use them for small repairs but not a whole room behind drywall and places where you couldn’t ever get back to it not the smartest idea
🎉😮Shocking the skills we acquire when we’re forced to and/or cash strapped with our backs against the wall!!! 😮 one of my favorite songs says “Country folks can survive.”
This is better than many seasoned contractor's work. Beautiful!
Wow, thank you!
I watched the entire thing at .75 speed. Then I watched it again and took notes. Nice work.
😂 Thanks for watching! I actually have a whole series breaking down each step with a dedicated video. Check it out!
@@GoldenKeyDesign I know! I'm going through them now while literally texting my girlfriend about which bathroom to start first. I don't know where you are, but in Akron Ohio the quote for my 8x10 bathroom for a "pull and replace" was 55k. Ridiculous. I've done a couple of bathrooms, but it's been more than 10 years and I remember it wasn't all that difficult..aside from breaking up the concrete floor.
@@nickbailey202 I'm just outside Chicago, IL so not too far. And wow, that's crazy money. Good luck with your project!
I finished my bathroom remodel earlier this year. Also, learning everything from the internet. Mostly CZcams videos. I'm really proud of my bathroom and glad I did it myself. You did an amazing job. I'm a little jealous, but it's also clear we're working with different budgets. 😂
Wow, your first time 🎉
Looks great. The only criticism I have is the ceiling. Moisture will escape between the wood joints and cause mold above. Other than that big thumbs up man 👍
Thanks for the feedback 😁
AWESOME!!!!
And I love the lighted mirror, wow!!!
Love this!! The mirror and wood ceiling are so unique! Great work 👏🏼
Thank you!
Really nice job
Absolutely beautiful! Looking forward to watching those 10 episodes ❤❤
Thank you! There's a ton of great info packed in there
Great job !! Cool vid
Great design style and impressive results!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Well done man!
Holy cow! What an amazing job, you are a very talented guy!
This is awesome. Also rly like how you ventured to use PEX for the new water supply lines. You prepped and put down mesh for the concrete leveler. Heated floor too. Everything you did was just top of the line, primo work. Probably won’t even find most contractors to be as detailed.
Good reason why so many people can't be contractors is because we're perfectionists and would never finish the job! Lol
Thank you for the kind words and that is very true! I find myself nitpicking others work when I don't do it myself haha
This is professionally done. Good job
Gorgeous! I love your choices.
Thank you!
Love it. Fabulous job👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😊
nice work!
Another amazing job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much 😊
Great job
Can’t believe I just sat here and watched all of this 😂🔥

Thanks. I'm awaiting more videos.
Wow such beautiful bathroom!!!! ❤

Love your transitions and B roll in this video!! Impressed with your vision from start to finished-I would hire you in a heartbeat 😉
Thank you, appreciate the kind words 😁
If you are not a pro contractor...you should be! Excellent job!
😂 Thank you! Really appreciate it!
Really awesome video! Love the design so much
Thank you so much! I have actually been a long time subscriber of your channel - ever since your first bathroom remodel video went viral. Congrats on your CZcams success! You put out great content. I see you started your own remodeling business too - that's awesome. I might get there someday
@@GoldenKeyDesign Right on, thank you! If you go down that route I have no doubt you'll be successful
Excellent work. Amazing.
Thank you very much!
Wow amazing!
Thank you!
Great work! You worked your tail off. Quality video production on top of your craftsmanship.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Glad you noticed the quality in both the production and craftsmanship!

You know what? I really like your attention to detail! Meticulous work=excellent work! Nice to watch!
Thank you so much Jai! Really appreciate the kind words 😁
Great persistence and awesome hard work on this..... from the husband
I love this. I personally would have added a handheld shower head as well but I love that rainfall shower.
Thank you! I did add a handheld spryer in my more recent bathroom renovation project
Awesome work
Thank you, appreciate it!
Amazing! It takes a lot of pride to do this project. Salute to you sir! 🫡
It really does haha! Thank you!!
Man that bathroom is a beautiful room.👍😁😃
Thank you!!
Wow!! Just amazing..
Thank you so much!
That’s looks so good man.
Thank you!
You made it look so easy
It’s honestly not too hard. Just takes some confidence
Great job on this video! I subscribed and will definitely check out your other ones. Learned a lot of great ideas, my favorite was using the 2x4s when placing the wax ring/toilet down so the seal is perfect. Can't wait to try that!
You are apparently a natural at all trades. Beautiful work.👍
I wouldn’t say a natural haha! There’s definitely a learning curve to most of the trades but now I’m finally getting the hang of it all. I appreciate the kind words though, thank you!
Good job man! 👏
Keep doing your thing!
☝️ ❤️
Thank you, really appreciate it!
Absolutely amazing and beautiful....so so impressed with your skill 👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
You weren't kidding when you said, DEMO!😮
😂 Yup! Down to the studs!
GREAT JOB!
Thank you!
nice work.
Thanks!
The process and results look more like a pro job than a DIY. Nice transformation.
Nice job!
Thanks!
You’re amazing… your craftsmanship is definitely better than some of the pros 🎉❤. Turned out great
Thanks so much 😊
This is just absolutely Beautiful!!!😍 You have a new subscriber!!
Thank you so much! And welcome!
Nice work bud
Thanks 👍
I typically work on cars and I know nothing about home remodeling. But by watching this video, I think I’m going to destroy the downstairs basement and give it a shot
I've done quite a few bathroom remodels myself, so I was very SHOCKED at the end, when you said this was your first. You definitely thought everything through before you started and did a great job. Besides the quality of work, I love the design. This is the first of your videos I've seen, so now I will go through the others, and see the details. Well done.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind words 😁
I was watching this and my thought was the same as yours. I honestly don't think this is his first remodel. if you look at the whole project there are a few things that you can see how you can tell he is not someone that is a DIYer. He had a dumpster to get rid of the garbage. Where I am from you need a permit to have one of those. It is a lot easier to work with pex and Romex cable. the way he sealed the shower was well done. If it is his first it was done pretty well. It might have been his first, but I don't think that he is your average CZcamsr. His garage looked like a work shop. He is definitely a contractor with very little drywall experience. It did showed.
beautiful ❤
Beautiful
Thank you!
This guy is professional he did everything with precision awesome luv it.
Thank you so much!
Waw amazing job …helps a lot
Thank you so much, glad you found it helpful!
Wow 🤩 literally amazing transformation❤️😮💨
Thank you, appreciate it!
I just watched your videos on TikTok and I have to say that you guys have done some wonderful work! Keep it up! Kind of giving me some ideas of my own for my future home/safe haven 👍🏻
Also you’re the first channel that has ever given me a reply back and that warms my heart🥹 so I genuinely thank you for that🥹
Just for that I have subscribed and turned on my notifications👍🏻🥹
@@charlessantos2110 Thank you! I try to reply to every comment as long as they aren't super negative haha! Glad to have you a subscriber and part of the GKD Crew!
This is a project I was thinking of tackling, but after seeing all of this...I am a little intimidated. :D Love the tiles!
Thank you!! And you can totally tackle this project! You got it 😁
You’re pretty talented dude
Thank you!
Learned so much even without voice over. Amazing use of painters tape for caulking
Thank you so much!! Glad you found it helpful 😁
the end product is fucking gorgeous, tremendous job bro
Thank you so much!
I love this!!!
Thanks!!
This is insane! I’m sure a contractor would’ve cost a min of $30,000. Way to go, i actually think I feel a little more discouraged to tackle my own bathroom remodel cause you did such a professional job! 😬
Thank you so much! You can totally do your own bathroom. Just takes some confidence and willpower. You can do it!
You are spot on, I have a 5x8 bathroom shower over tub. Bids were $30-35,000 and I would have been required to purchase all the finish materials, as in tile, showerdoors, vanities, toilet, etc. Probably would have been another $5,000 easy not to mention any other issues.
@@user-iq7en1lg3i Check out the other videos I did of this bathroom series. I have a breakdown of each step in the process
@GoldenKeyDesign how much for everything total in cost?
@@ManFromNowhere89 The materials for this project cost $3/4k
Amazing Job good!
Thank you!
Nice
Hell of a job
Thank you!
Bro your awesome
Thank you!
Well done. You make it look easy. I would be nervous to even do demolition on my own. Now if I would have done 1-2 of these type of projects, I would feel better about tackling it on.
It sure wasn’t easy, but a huge learning experience. The next bathroom reno after this one will be much easier haha
Wow so cool . Cheers 🥂
Thank you! Cheers!
Impressive
Thank you!!
Another W for CZcams trade school lol I salute you bro 🫡
Haha, thank you!
Thank you! Nicely done. Love everything about the video. Just wished that mine would go as fast! lol and so is my Girl lol I would have liked to see your electrical for the mirror…
a lot of work, finished product looks like a million bucks. before photo of the bath on the shelf is a nice touch.
It sure was 😂 Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Definitely an upgrade
For sure!
Love it! The only thing I would be concerned about is moving that duct work into the floor. If the basement ever floods, it’s all going to drain into your furnace🤣
This is actually on the main level. The duct was previously a floor vent under the window. I just moved it outside the shower area
Perfect!! The only thing I would change is i would install a black lou instead
Thank you and great idea!
Remarkable! I’ll be watching the cement application to the wall; very nice! I have to mention the toggle light switches… one is beautiful Lutron with the claro plate, but the other one is generic and is not the same shiny white as the rest and also the generic switch does not even fit right. I know is small detail in otherwise fantastic job, but because everything else is so nice, this detail stands out so very much. I hope you change it; it will bother you every time you see it.
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! It might just be my camera because the switched appear the same color in person. I will look into fixing the alignment
Say fam, you got that boy looking riiiiiiggggghhht. God bless you and yours. Keep that content coming.
Thanks!
Best videos on CZcams.
Wow! Really means a lot, thank you!
@Golden Key Design well earned my man. And not just your design aesthetic, but your editing too.
Thank you for noticing! I try my best to keep the videos informational but also entertaining and snappy
Love the layout and design! I'd love to watch more of your videos :) I'm a little worried about the open floor joists/ rafter area above the shower for long term water damage. Moisture and steam can go through the butt joints without a vapor barrier. Just something to keep an eye on in the future unless I missed something?
Thank you! And yes I may add a vapor barrier in the future
