In this video, I am going to show you the best label printer according to the Low Voltage Nation Facebook Group. Be sure to subscribe to the CZcams channel and smash the like button if you get value out of these videos.
The LVN Army has spoken and the most widely used and feature-rich label printer is the Brother P-touch series.
    Some key features are:
    Database/CSV File
Being able to print via a CSV file, especially over wifi with their mobile app. This saves a tremendous amount of time on larger projects, especially when combined with Fluke certifiers and testers. Brother actually has partnerships with Softing, AEM, and Fluke to make this process seamless while working off of a centralized database.
    Serialize
This is great for smaller jobs and allows you to quickly specify the number of drops. You can then print off cable wraps, patch panels, and wall plates.

Been running the Epson LW-PX900 for over a year now. Absolutly love it. I save a bunch on cost of the lables (little waste) and have a lifetime guarantee. I think the biggest drawback for some folks will be that it does not have wireless capablilites. For me, not a big deal, but for others, I can see this being an issue.

I have the same model. I am amazed how good it is. In love with it haha...Design speed functions everything is just what i wanted. PC software is also very good for design of the labels and working with databases.

I have a PT-E500 and the biggest drawback for me is the uploaded templates are unable to be saved if you edit them on the label maker. My question is, on the E550W , if used with the iPhone or android app, can I edit and save uploaded templates from the label maker to my mobile device.

I haven't used the app yet but so far so am furious about the 1 inch of tape that this machine wastes before each print. WTH?!

Very slow and expensive for anything over 25 jacks.

Very slow? have you used the serialize and database functionality? You can easily plow through hundreds of drops with cable wraps, faceplates, and patch panels. The cost is quite low too.

@@LowVoltageNation We have used database files and serialize for printing labels for the last 20 years for low Voltage work that's nothing new, all over the world. Some handheld printers have a use but they are not cost-effective of 25/50 drops.

What’s the difference between the orange and yellow version?

I'm actually not familiar with the yellow version... I've used the yellow brady and dymo label printer.
