New AC Delco Ultraguard oil filter review

- The AC Delco Ultraguard on first look appears to be a well made filter. The only thing that I had a problem with is the filtration appears to be the same as the Regular filter which is built also very well. The rest of the filter seems very well made, I would use these filters if they were not to expensive for the filtration inside. I'm sure it's fine and should do it's job. Bought from Rockauto $10.85 Canadian price.

"Funky writing" = also for China sales market where GM has large operations, and also makes some vehicles. Filter made in US, date code would indicate on 11/29/23, pretty new. UPF upgraded from standard ACD ecore nylon tube to louvered metal. Louvers are fine, Champ Labs been using them for decades. Always more louver openings per area than holes. Media cellulose based, a blend at most. AEM adbv, still rubber like nitrile. Not sure if you, but someone burn tested, and burned as rubber. UPF-R a decent filter, imo.
Thanks Faxmen, the filter is good filter with thicker cup and heavier steel than the regular 48. I would use it if it was a bit cheaper, I have a standard Champion filter coming up I will compare the Ac Delco to.
the first 2 digits are the year and 333 is the Julian date am I right? Thanks for your help
@@budblack3588 Props bud, you decoded it. Interestingly Champ hasn't and doesn't always use that date code format. Sometimes it's non-Julian, straight forward read.
Looks better than some , quality materials but a bit messy 😋
Thanks Looney, is a good filter but I would save the money and get the standard AcDelco which Is much cheaper and inside about the same for Filtration.

it is made by Champ Labs, it is not a bad filter but the built quality needs to be improved.
