Yes, the audio isn't great in this video... this was my first time trying to record with my GoPro in a long time aaaand, I need a microphone. Time to figure that out, I guess lol.

Great car. A classic.
Hi max! I have a same year intrepid with the same paint and wheels with a beige/gray interior instead of black. It’s my first car and I love it! Mine actually has almost 112,000 miles on the clock but it’s still going strong and looking brand new! It’ll be cool to see content on this! Life is crazy!
I always liked the Intrepids. I’ve actually been wanting to get one of them or a Concorde or LHS. I enjoy the videos. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Please don't buy an Intrepid! Me and my mom both bought and both cars died at 100,000
@@MrGary33333 where both a 2.7? If so that’s why.
@@WTMNNJR Yep,both 2.7
@@MrGary33333 they died because you didn't replace the water pump and engine belt on an interference engine. You should change them every 60k miles.
Excellent car! I never have problems
Great video, Max! Just a note that might help for your Lexus:
I noticed at 12:10 that your Keyless Entry system is switched ON. This is next to the left and right mirror controls that are above the trunk and fuel door release switches. If you switch it off, it will reduce a good amount of battery drain while the car is sitting.
You can also unplug the CD Changer in the trunk, if you're not using it. The light for the catridge button uses up power.
These probably won't solve the issue entirely, but should make a difference.
Thanks for the comment! I'm pretty sure the battery's just about done in it, honestly. I never really had issues with leaving it for any amount of time before about a month or two ago, but I will keep all of that in mind at least until I get around to getting a new one haha
I have one of these for almost 6 years now it's been an awesome car only had to do a fuel pump and an alternator and its got 188k on a 2.7l, well kept one owner who was my aunt. Too bad it's been hit and run. I do several 500 mile 8hr trips a year in this car and it's super comfortable
GOLD WITH BLACK
Whether this car is reliable or not depends on how the owner treats it. To have a success story, follow the method "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and be meticulous on the details. Flush the transmission fluid every 30k miles ONLY with ATF+4. With a 2.7l that is 18 years old, change the timing chain and water pump sooner than later. Change the oil no longer than 3000 miles (not 5000). I would traditional say use synthetic but it might leak like crazy given the age of the gaskets. The other items are usually just standard maintenance of tie rod ends (do both inner and outer when any of them need it).
The fact that it feels SO SLOW, is because it makes all that 200 hp and 190 ft-lbs of torque at such a high rpm. The 3.3 only had 161hp and 181 ft-lbs of torque and didn't feel half as weak because it has it at a much lower rpm.
The 3.5 versions are fun as they have the HP and torque down low as well and a LOT more of it.
I appreciate your review and am impressed that you found the seat more comfortable than the Lexus. You should try sitting in a LHS or 300M sometime as those are even better.
Yeah, the removal of the Dodge badges is Daimler cost cutting. They were penny pinchers.
I bought a car from a guy who treated the car like crap and I'm now fixing the things he destroyed that's what makes it true
I like it!
Be careful because the waterpump can fail and the car can die very quickly. Also the 2.7 can also have oil sludge issues if not maintained right. I suggest replacing the water pump every 40k.
Have had a 2000 Chrysler Intrepid 132000 and 0 issues iver 22 years. Must be because it's Canadian. Still looks new. I guess it's a unicorn.
You look like Dead from Mayhem🤣👍
The 2.7 was the worst possible engine to have in that vehicle. The 3.3, and 3.5 were much more powerful. The 3.3 was probably the most reliable and still pretty darn peppy.
The intrepid with the 2.7 engine will not down shift easily or get out of its way. I believed they did this to save the engine if anything. Definitely change the oil to full synthetic and have that water pump replaced soon enough and you should be a happy camper.
The 2.7L engines are known to be trash. I have the 3.5L HO in mine. It's been troublesome, but I bought it used with 150,000 miles on it. I've had it for 6 years or so, and have only put about 12,000 miles on it. It's been in the shop a lot, but usually just for small things. MAP & MAF sensors. Camshaft Position Sensor. Alternator. Alternator belt. I had one transmission issue. A line fell out of place, vibrated against something else and ultimately broke. I consider that a freak accident. I've had no other issues with the transmission.
2.7
@@samarch2189 fixed
That's low mileage. My Intrepid with the 2.7 has 244.000 Miles. Engine runs flawlessly but it does have frontend issues. I've had it for 7 years and I love it. The 2.7 is faster after 2500 Rpms. That's how it was designed. It wasn't designed to be a fast car.
Is that true that needs Synthetic Oil? I've heard issues about oil sludge.
That 2.7 Liter and its internal water pump🥴 2 Lawsuits and YEAH Watch out for that waterpump and check your oil... The cooking will sneak up on ya🫣
Slow? I have no complaints about the ability of my Intrepid 2.7L to accelerate to the 70 mph speed limit on the highway within the space of the entry ramp that was designed back in the 55 mph era. For highway trips my Intrepid is comfortable at even the 85 mph limits out in west Texas. It's not a 1/4 mile racer, but it never pretended to be. To address the absence of badging on the Intrepid, be aware that my 2004 Chevrolet Malibu also lacks badging on the body. That was a style across the industry at the time.
You'll probably want a new gas cap. Bet it's worn out, causing an intermittent evap code.
I keep running mine on full synthetic oil (my Intrepid 2.7 just hit 178,000 miles). Also take a look at your coolant air bleeder. These tend to dry rot! I was stranded 7 hours from home because mine gave out unexpectedly. I replaced mine with an aluminum one and haven't had a problem since... you might want to do that before it leaves you stranded even if it looks okay on the outside...for now!
Try, a 3.2L, i have one and itdoes pulls me back to the seat, many mustangs have eaten dust
compare 2 Lexus, they both have 4 tires. end of comparison.
Easy fix
Car is heavy
invest in a good clip on mic, srsly the sound quality is one of things that makes or brakes the video like this
What a hunk of junk. I leased one brand new and after 1,000 miles the CEL came on
i want it lol.
Это баба или мужик???
