Most of tgese cars have v8 motors. Only tge two door tahoes and yukons have tge 6 5 diesel motors well somevof them

13:40 “ that’s pretty much it for back here”??? You failed to notice how nicely upholstered the back of the bench is because it opens in into a double bed that is more comfortable than any sofa bed I’ve ever been on. But a note for people who have this fan and don’t know how to open the bed. You have to kind of pull a lever on the right bottom corner in the back and as you pull that lever, you need to push the seat back forward and lift the bottom of it up and out otherwise he will break a weld on that seat. I have seen kids pull that lever while they’re sitting in the backseat and think that it reclines partially that is actually jamming the hinge and latch and forcing the seat into a position that is not intended. Growing up with this fan it is a damn shame that we don’t have something this nice for families today. I don’t want to put them in a church van with vinyl floors. By 1995 van had deleted the rear bed and came with less luxurious carpeting and more of the standard carpeting found in a Taurus or Escort

To me the 74 was really the last of these big land yachts. The 75, 76 and definitely the 77 just weren't the same.

The gas supports for the hood are readily available, and the engine is filthy. Engine bay does not present well.

There's supposed to be a black plastic cover which hides the radiator and AC condenser. It goes all the way across, and was known as a "sight shield " .

There’s absolutely no way that an iron block 5.3 truck engine makes 600+HP with just a blower. It either has around 400hp (like the LS2 TBSS) or it has waaaay more than just the blower

When you started that engine it sounded to me like the main bearings were worn a bit. The 4.0 needs premium oil and more maintenance than the V8s. A lot of people found 10w40 and 15w40 was better for them than the suggested 10w30.

Obama would buy a 2000 if it were about 2000. 96-98, really pretty decent machines. I used to think more of the 4.0 than the 5.2 (318) but I realized in the fuel injected engine's the straight 6 and small block V8s get about the same mileage if the 302 in Ford or 318 Dodge doesn't actually get better but with more power. (MPI 305 better than the 4.3 in GM). You have to buy a carbureted engine before the 6 actually was a gain in mileage but still it wasn't much. I mean if you want a 92 F-150 300 six 5 speed with 3.08 final you might come in with just a smidgen better mileage than a 302 with 3.55 final and automatic but you'll know you left a lot of power on the table for very little mileage gain. The 302 has about the same low end torque profile as the 300 in the injected engines but with the 302 you can pass a slow mover. It's the same here with Mopar. The six comes with a 42re and the 318 in jeep the 44re.. the difference is in the clutches and frictions basically. But now if you wanna modify for more power you want an obd-i. Preferably past Renix but before obd-ii. The map sensor on mopar was adjustable. The computer data tables are based on vacuum signal on SD injection. It's not impossible to overcome on obd-ii but it is a little more expensive and you might need a speed shop's help. I personally like the newer Dodge transmissions. Starting in 1999 the Grand Cherokee transmission behind the 4.7 was a big improvement. The 99-2000 can be software upgraded to the "5 speed" (haha) that the 2001 came out with. But for the home mechanic up to the 98 is easiest to work on... when it comes to things like the heater core and blend door actuators especially. I'd kinda like to see a new hurricane 6 engine apart from one of the late models. The tech "analysis" can't be trusted because they always suggest new as improved even when it's a downgrade. I learned all these things 20 years ago and I don't forget this kind of data very quickly. I still say our modern domestic SUVs are for people who want something to work on and the Japanese stuff (made here unlike the domestic stuff) is for people who don't want to work on something.

I love Toyota's consistency...even now, 30 years later in 2024, they use the same exact lock and unlock chime (1 beep for lock, 2 beeps for unlock) for all of their Toyota and Lexus vehicles. I even remember it being on some of their Scion vehicles when they still had that brand.

Later models had the Rover (ex Buick) V8, in 3.5, 3.9, 4.2 Litre capacities.
