A good cold air intake really makes the turbo sing in a 7.3 like that. Really no noticeable performance gains but definitely a noticeable difference in that whistle !!!

Yes, it's pretty peppy with the manual transmission and tuning. The high tuning will, likely, cut the engine life some, if gunned very often, but it does look and sound good. I have a 1999 stock tuned. It's okay, when I get into the turbo, but not quite this good. However they are tuned, you can hear a 7.3 running from a mile off. 7.3 diesel is loud from factory.
After owning a 6.0 I’ll never buy a 7.3 again. Nothing to do with reliability, 7.3 is far superior as far as durability. But nowhere near the near power/acceleration of the 6.0
7.3’s are so overrated. 6.0 is better in my opinion. Faster, easier to work on, the main problems are known and easily identified. Makes a ton of power easily, trans are super strong (05-06 6.0’s not the 03-04) the drivetrain and suspension are really superior over the 7.3 drivetrain and suspension. Sounds wayyyyyy better. Way better mpg! Tow more ! Just overall more reliable than a 7.3 the shitty 6.0’s we’re the ambulance engines used in 03-04 in 05 the reengineering of the engine was phenomenal! I’ll get some haters on this comment but that’s okay, keep your slow laggy 7.3 that has 3 trans swaps, 10 radiator and water pump replacements and head gaskets jobs lol 😂
Stock turbo?? My GTP38 doesn’t sing quite like that. I stilll have the stock exhaust but none of my friends straight piped 7.3’s sound like that. Course they are all auto

Ford doesn't even make the 7.3. Ford can't even take credit for that motor. But Ford does make the 6.0 and 6.4, and those are complete fucking GARBAGE.
International made all 3 of those motors. Ford didn’t start producing their own diesel until the 6.7. The 6.0 and 6.4 are what killed Ford’s partnership with International/Navistar.

@@SavageWhiteTailhunterI’ve driven them. They have good power but there’s so many stupid things in the way they’re designed. Two piece oil pans that are known to leak and you’ve gotta pull the motor to get them off, a lot of them have two alternators making it like 9 or 10 pulleys to try to route the belt back around with no room, I’ve seen injector issues on the early ones also. Cummins may not be as powerful but they seem to have fewer problems and are way easier to work on, especially on the side of the road. You’ve actually got a chance to fix a Cummins in a parking lot. There’s not a lot you can do to a Ford besides call a tow truck. I think they’re cool, I like the power they have, they’re just not for me.

The 5.0, 4.6, and the 4.9 inline 6 are all Great motors but lately Ford's motors have been complete garbage. The 3.5 echoboost is absolutely no good. Way too many problems. The 5.4 Triton is the same. Absolutely garbage. I have a 99 Dodge ram with a 24 valve 5.9 Cummins and it does have its problems but not as many and power joke or dirtymax.

@@tommybragalone7943being a zf6 super duty helps a lot too, they were rated at 275 vs 250 for autos and 215 max for obs trucks.
