    By FAR the best episode so far! And you're so right how much harder it hits to see Ahsoka as a Padawan in live action vs in animation. I was literally just talking to my dad about this and his immediate reaction was "She was just a baby!" Child soldiers. That's what the Padawans of the Clone Wars were. What Ahsoka was. And why she's still so deeply affected by the Clone Wars to this day. I also really liked the lesson that Anakin was teaching her her about how Jedi evolve and change depending on what they need to be at a certain point in time. I've struggled a lot with how the Jedi of the Old Republic were compared to different periods of time, like the High Republic. But Anakin is right. The Jedi may have had to adapt to different situations, but they were still Jedi. And so is Ahsoka. This hit just as hard as her infamous "I am no Jedi" line in Rebels. Ahsoka IS a Jedi! Now I get why they were putting the word "Jedi" in all the trailers. Because no matter what she thinks of herself, she is a Jedi. And Sabine will be a Jedi, too. Because even though she's not like the Jedi who came before, neither was Ahsoka, or Anakin, or Qui-Gon. She'll be the Jedi needed for the time she's living in now. Part of the Legacy.

    • @ladygrey7425
      @ladygrey7425 Před 10 měsíci +9

      Exactly. Sabine only blocks *herself* from the Force. By letting go of her own guilt and self-loathing over the genocide of her people and the death of her family in particular, of her resentment towards Ahsoka and even Ezra for "leaving" her, she will become as her ancestor Tarre Vizla was, and as Grogu is - a Mandalorian Jedi.
      It is interesting just how much the trailer cards apply to both Ahsoka and Sabine. Warrior. Outcast. Rebel. Jedi. They are these things and so much more.

    • @mikaelacash3791
      @mikaelacash3791 Před 10 měsíci +3

      @@ladygrey7425 Yes yes yes! If Sabine can just manage to let go and forgive herself, I have no doubt that she'd be able to tap into the Force! I mean, remember back during the final season of Rebels where people were tossing around fan theories that Sabine might be Force sensitive? It seems like so many people forgot that was a theory that was going around for a short amount of time, considering how now everyone is being so shocked about the fact that Ahsoka is training Sabine as a Jedi now.

It's like kreia said, "if a lightsaber ceases to function is it still a lightsaber?" "If a jedi/sith cannot touch the force can he or she truly be called a jedi/sith?" If we look at the answers to what in universe were called "Kreia's Conundrums" I think we'll find the answers to weather sabine is ACTUALLY force sensitive or not. Here's a link to a video on kreias actual philosophy and a complete critical examination of star wars from beginning to end. It's a good watch.

    Just like what Dark Side Yoda said to himself. The DarkSide is everywhere and everyone has their own inner darkness. It’s up to the individual if they want to embrace it. Turn away from it or balance it with their inner light side.
    Even Ahsoka tasted her own inner darkness but chose not to strike down Vader which she did dislike.

    • @KryyssTV
      @KryyssTV Před 9 měsíci +5

      The lesson Anakin was trying to teach though is that the Jedi need to learn to use the Darkside without losing control to it so that they can be what the galaxy needs them to be.
      As he marches into battle you see him appear as Vader showing that the act of warfare had nothing to do with being keepers of the peace or anything to do with the Light. And even Ahsoka needed to be taught her lesson by both Anakin and Vader since either one by themselves wasn't enough to get through to her.
      That kind of flexibility and ability to adapt is the lesson Anakin was trying to pass on to the New Jedi Order and cannot be achieved without mastery and use of both the Dark and the Light.

    Well said. Before this episode, I knew Ahsoka still had guilt from her past she needed to let go of. What I didn't consider, is guilt she may have held in being afraid of giving into the dark side of the force because Anakin did, or even because of the damage incurred from her training during the Clone war.
    You did another fantastic job of working through all of this. Because in reality, do the Jedi really have to evolve blindly to the times? Good episode which shows how the Jedi stopped listening to the will of the force for the sake of evolving to the times, and how much it cost them.

    It really was not a shock for me. I was well aware that Ahsoka was just a child during The Clone Wars. It was always on my mind as I watched those animated episodes and one of the things that made me question whether the Jedi Order was really a force for good or not. Ahsoka's mental and emotional scars from a life of war and conflict and her yearning to no longer have to fight are central to her character and it's important to understand that about her. I think it's part of the reason she's so beloved by the fans, because we all still see her as that child that was thrown into a war and then shaped and scarred by it.

      Jedi's way was not to pamper the Padawans. While Younglings had a more theoretical training, it was believed that, once reached the age of 13-14 (for humanoid races), an apprentice could follow a master and see what the world was really made of.
      Certainly they didn't foresee a galactic war, but even in peacetime a Padawan could live dire situations. Like the apprentice of a oriental wandering monk could live.

    It was an excellent scene! Like the Mandalorian, Boba Fett and Obi Wan spin offs, Ahsoka is another amazing series giving background and depth to the Star Wars universe. It certainly painted a more graphic picture of how young she was and how much it affected her. But also how Anakin was in fact the chosen one, who was redeemed by the force with the help of his son.
    As both film and TV have changed and continue to change in our society, it's great to see these very detailed shorter segments than trilogy movies every 10-15 years that tell the pivotal points of the overall story. All good stuff!

    I think why she didn't turn was more simple than that in the end. At this point she KNOWS Anakin/Vader are long dead. At that point in the fight she was already given the choice of 2 options; live, or die. She knows where she is from prior experience, and she knows what making the right choice, or wrong choice will mean. And I honestly believe she went Dark for a second just to feel IF the power was as cracked up to be as she's been taught; if you really become more powerful than you can possibly imagine so to speak. It's in the brief second with Vader's blade to his throat she knows it's not; she knows Anakin is lost, so even with more power she can never bring him back even if it meant "killing" Vader. So she tosses the saber and Vader backs up knowing "HE" lost, closes the eyes and Sky Guy is back. And we all know what happens from there. Gandal............ I mean Ahsoka The White emerges and mind melds like Spock with a galaxy jumping space whale off to find Ezra. I truly hope Huyang is earning a lot of New Republican credits for all this. Parts for a 10,000 plus year driod can't be cheap I'm sure. 😅😅

    What is interesting here is how Anakin openly identifies that the Jedi were not taking part in the war as peacekeepers as many within and without claimed but does not condemn the Order for taking part. He even appears as Vader as he marches into battle indicating that the act of warfare is firmly rooted in the Darkside not the Light.
    Given that saying Ahsoka doesn't still understand and then immeditately drawing upon the full power of the Dark Side seems to be saying that for the Jedi to protectors they need to embrace both the Dark and Light so that they can rise to any challenge.
    This is not dissimilar to the ideology that Luke adopted in Legends as he too attempted to strike that balance - as did Jacen (Syndulla) Solo.
    Funnily enough, if Anakin can successfully guide the New Jedi Order into accepting the Force in its entirity then it'll prevent the extremes within the Force that cause the rise of the Sith because the Order will itself embody the balance the Will of the Force constantly tries to achieve. He will have fullfilled the purpose of The Chosen One.

      Right, Anakin wasn’t going to kill her even after backpedaling to beginning of training as Vader. She passed the trial, even resembling Luke in her refusal to give in.

      well she didnt actually lose, or they just didnt show us the outcome , because she was going to lose eventually 100%, it seems she wanted to like suicide and save vader cuz she break the platform before the energy blast hit vader. which indeed saved vader that day or he would be dead . she was all in fight or die but chose to save her master in the end@@johnwebb4499

      It truly does! I have watched the flashbacks so many times now and every time I watch them I appreciate them more and more. I initially thought the message was Ahsoka needing to overcome her fear of turning into Anakin, a powerful and dangerous individual who brought death and destruction in his wake just like Baylan Skoll said her legacy was. but it was more, it’s also about overcoming her guilt in thinking that it is her fault Anakin turned into Darth Vader because she left the order and him, to understand that she is more than just a soldier, a warrior, even a Jedi, that she can become everything good that Anakin Skywalker could have been because of all the things she was taught by him and the Jedi. We tend to focus on the bad more often than we ever focus on the good.

    Ahsoka is the best SW we have gotten since Disney bought it. If this isn’t a wake up call to Disney to make Dave Filoni and Jon Faverau as the leaders of Star Wars in its entirety….Idk what will.

      Sorry, but normies are confused by this show and barely anyone but hardcore fans watch it. It's like people wanting Andor to be a wake up call to Disney but never watching it.
      The most watched show was Obi-Wan, so they looked at that and said, okay, make more stupid shit like that, they seem to like it 😂

    Nah I think you’re reaching on the Ashoka sith eyes bit. Her eyes looked the same. Sith eyes aren’t like mood rings, changing when you get mad lol. Someone who is consumed by the dark side displays the yellow eyes. Unless they’ve changed it and consequently cheapened it’s meaning. I def don’t put it past disney. And the whole idea of the Jedi adapting to the times it’s kinda nonsense imo. That presumes a generational model to their institution. But we’re talking about an Order with people like Yoda and other Jedi that live hundreds of years and have seen wars before. The Jedi weren’t meant to adapt and shift roles with the times. They were meant to be the Jedi throughout all time. But they failed in the clone wars in part because of the manipulation of Sidious and their own self assurance. Filoni is just trying something new with Star Wars but i don’t think it fits. But it’s certainly a better attempt than the BS “sequel trilogy”.

    You dont need much explanation. "Fear is the path to dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering".
    Anakin was show her that the gear she has to be a soldier is no longer required. Fear then was an act of survival, not commitance to the darkside. He showed her the difference (as well as several other things) by simply asking her- do you want to live?

      I wouldn’t say she was close to turning dark, but she was definitely thinking dark side thoughts at the time. She was angry and aggressive in that moment. Whether her eyes actually turned or it was just a reflection it makes for a good visual motif either way. It was her moment of choice to either embrace those dark side thoughts and feelings or to let them go, and she let it go.

  • @0420Diamond

    Some people think is the reflection of the red lightsaber made her eyes red. However, how'd you explain black outer of the eye getting smaller than before and Pupils are smaller as well. I think the student is the same as the teacher angry and still feels betrayed by the order Anakin had to bring out that anger in her showing that emotion to live otherwise she would have died in the waters. She had bottles up all those feelings are anger somehow now since she did she is Ahsoka the white. I don't think it was the refle tion of the red there would have been a hint of blue as well but there was not.
