Mould 37- Revealing Mystery Moulds I found on Gumtree

- This is the series where I reveal what is inside these pottery moulds I found on Gumtree.
The story goes, I found a listing on gumtree for pottery stuff. When I arrived the seller said 'I have all these pottery moulds would you like them as well?' and I said 'why not'. On the way home, I had the brain child to do a social media video series revealing what each mould is.
The mystery is in the fact that I had no idea what I had said yes to, some of the moulds are labelled and easy to tell but some of them are a little more difficult. The beauty is that all of the plaster moulds surprise you no matter the presentation of labels, titles or identifiable surface inside.
So come join me as I dive into this series and share the mould fun. I would love to hear any information you may have on the moulds and to let me know any stories you have that the moulds remind you of in the comments.

Wow Shelby, your duck army is extraordinary. Coloring them with a scattering of flowers is genius. The colors and variety are so pretty. I think you should do a series with the under color and over-lay flowers. Love them. 💜

Idk what it is about it, but I love how the paint is super smooth but you can see each layer like they stand off the underneath layer. It's very visually pleasing to me.

You have a flock there, otherwise known as a duck army. I had a big smile thru-out, because I’m happiest when you paint in your style. Perfection! I think my favorite is the duckie with the big blue flower on her head. It was also very nice to see the mushrooms in the kiln. I swear, when you opened the kiln, sunshine poured out. Quack-a-doodle-doo!
I thought of a fun idea, do a piece where the colors are randomly generated! That could be fun.

You're just so adorable because you just are so surprised so surprised every time you do a unmoulding and block unmoulding and you wouldn't go ahead and unload the kiln. I just love watching you.
The ducks are SO precious! Could you tell us sometime about your under-glazing supplies? Are the brushes you use specially made for underglaze? What are they made of? Is there a sponge in your water bowl? How thick is the underglaze straight from the bottle? When you paint, I'm always amazed at how it stays put where you place it and doesn't drip or move unless you push it with your brush. You've got me hooked on potter, and I need a crash-course!! OH! I've seen this pair of duckies at my local goodwill. Looks like these were sold as "paint it yourself" bisque ceramics back in the day (70's-80's). They're terribly cute.

I love these! I just came home from a fun night in Manhattan, and one of my highlights was seeing these two pigeons standing one-legged on a ledge, getting ready for bed. While these are much cuter than some grungy city pigeons, I love the parallel of a cute little bird pair. What a fun coincidence!
