To clarify what I said in the video, the company that installed it didn't suck. They just took way too long and cost too much. The first company I tried to have it installed by was the one that sucked. They held my guitar for a week, didn't touch it and then got an attitude with me for saying I wanted it back.
To the hundreds of people who have asked how to buy it: there's an interesting little website out there called Google. The first search result for "sustainiac" is the official website. I'll let you figure it out from there. - Hudba
i love how people call you homeless and you have upwards of 5 grand in guitars and that sexy mesa boogie in the background
Dude, I just realized you're actually linked on the Sustainiac page for a demo. You win, good sir.
Great Job! Of all the sustaniac explanations yours was the best. You nailed it on the differences in the 3 modes and how they sound. Really appreciated you do this.
AMAZING GUITAR MAN, I LOVE AVENGED SEVENFOLD, AND I NEVER HAVE BEEN SEE THE SYN´S GUITAR IN THIS COLOR!! ITS BEAUTYFUL!!!
BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE!!!
kasey roberts 3:50
lol. this was funny.
I legit stared saying his name in my head and stopped at 2 times lmfao force of habbit
I literally 5 years later got notifications about replies lmfao.
That guitar looks like a Dark Souls weapon
hahaha
Gabe Jertberg it looks like it should come with a shitload of vengeance shirts and axe body spray. cause you'd have to have that shit to want to own one.... some dude tried to trade me one for my Parker nitefly so I came here to see what it was about. literally the ugliest guitar I have ever seen... and he owned two lol
We get it, you don't like the guitar.
Neil you got a shitty taste in guitars I see
*Synyster Gates is typing*
This was such a great demo I got all lusty and broke down and bought the Guitar!!! ^_^
Nice explanations of the tech. Nice demo of the tone and features!
Thanks Sean. Without this demo I would have guessed the Invader was too death metal for me.I like "heavey modern" rock but I also like blues, clean, and classic rock (AC/DC, etc)
Thanks for taking the time to do this! Cheers!
Either buy this or become Gary Moore, the man who could magically somehow hold a note forever with nothing but his hands and a Les Paul.
Be real we all know Gary moree had his Les Paul j-tagged
RJ Maksym Not at all. Les Pauls have been known to have crazy sustain, and Gary knew where to stand to get the most sustain in relation to his amp. That's a perk of playing at super loud volumes.
M. Goetz les pauls are way overrated
@M Shadows I remember my friend in high school had a brown Yamaha lets Paul clone....played better than my other friends $1000 real Les Paul. The neck was really fast
@@fastbike6764 I had a 70s Ibanez lawsuit les paul and thing was better than 70s les pauls
This is still the best Sustainiac demo on You Tube! Congrats and you SOLD me!
Why is there so much hate in the comments? I came here to learn about the Sustainiac and got what I was looking for. If you think you have a better guitar or you can make a better video, then buy a Sustaniac and make your own video. Until then, STFU and appreciate the time this guy took to make the video and help others. I publish drone tech videos on my other channel and it takes a lot of work to script them, set them up, get the lighting right, shoot them, do re-takes, edit them and then put yourself out there for people to make ignorant comments. Give the guy some respect.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU. I was worried i was gonna get the wrong options when i ordered mine, but with this theres no problems, thanks a ton! :)
Epic guitar.
Epic hair style.
Keep rockin' bro!
I got the black/silver Synyster Gates Schecter off guitar center that has the sustainiac in it and it is such an amazing feature. It really makes harmonics scream and the fundamental mode is the most helpful thing ever when you need to hold a note for a while. Love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Good vid and licks bro. Thanks for the detail and vid quality. Sound quality is good too. KEEP IT UP!!!
HOLY COW!!!! thanks soo much for bringing back memories when you played Gates's lick in the tours!!!i knew what it was from the first note!!!!:)
I put a new one too think that might of been the problem but it wasn't it they said that they just installed it the way sustainiac shipped it out to them. They're gonna call sustainiac and ask what they are suppose to do to fix this problem. Your video will help out a lot cause they said they've never seen a pickup like this so obviously they don't know how and what it's suppose to do. Thanks for making the video!
This is awesome and exactly what I need. VERY COOL
Hey man, I gotta say this is a pretty awesome demo ! Now I just want that guitar.
Bloody good demo, mate! Goodonya!
I getting this installed on my Les Paul tomorrow! Haha I can't wait!
Nice review it was very helpful! I have a £250 guitar which is currently my main one as I've only been playing a few months although I would love to deck it out in future with some better pickups, a Floyd Rose and locking nut and tuners and this sustainic pickup and I'll probably find more I'd love to add.
okay sean butler. finally i know what is sustaniac for, certainly for that 3 switch harmonic and 2 other modes work for. very good review keep it sustain sean 👍
6:06 Till this date, it is not found
Cool review man
Man i just went an bought the custom black one, and now i really want a pick up like that, Video gave me chills loved it what a boss
Love the description
The synyster custom looks gorgeous with that pickup
thats so cool! ive been curious about that sound for years now! i can get it with an Ebow but the guitarists ive seen never used one so i was really curious! thats a really cool guitar! i was tempted to buy an A7X guitar once!
Very Cool Dude. I do Guitar demos and just tried the sustainiac yesterday. You can see it on my channel 5stagger. Thanks for making this video. I had no idea how the sustainiac works and now I do. Uda man !
awesome pick up, guitar, and guy. Thanks for the video mate :D
Nice demo. I'm glad you caught the 'neck pickup trebly sound' mistake, and the last thing you said was hilarious. I have just installed a sustainiac for a customer, as well as a Graph Tech Midi and Acoustiphonic pre-amps. Still trying to work out a few bugs - combining three different pickup systems is not easy.
Later.
Now i know how gates get that crazy sustain and harmonic sound from his solo :D thanks for the review dude
This guitar is amaaaaazing!
Nice man, thanks for the explanation!
Awesome! And very informative. That strap is boss!
Just got it installed in my inane ict700 iceman. Sounds amazing.
Very cool thing man, and nice guitar too.
Awsome..just put mine on layaway.Im not really a avenged fan but it only took 5 minutes playing around with the sustainiac and the tremolo and I had to have it.the guitar sings for any genre, metal to blues. harmonics fly off the neck for dime bag stuff. And amazingly,it sounds nice on clean, for more jazzy type playing.
Basic and to the point. Thanks for Video
dude finally, i knew that solo syn does he uses those switches just i never really knew because i have a Syn Red and Black Custom but i need to get the Sustaniac on it still but been trying to do that solo but not possible without it that i see now thanks man :D
Love the guitar
thank you for the info bro!
I don't see why there's so much hate in the comments, I mean, this was quite a good review. I didn't know at all how Sustainiac system worked and now I do, isn't that the reason why we all came here in the first place?
Also, what's the problem with he showing his face? He's fucking talking to the camera, I don't get what's wrong about showing his face, and he actually shows the guitar when he has to, so, is really that bad?
Anyway, thank you for uploading this video, it helped me and I'm sure it helped a lot more people :)
Thanks for your help.
since you got a floyd rose, and a sustainiac you should do a dime-squeal video, I'd like to see how long that could carry
Wow i remember watching this a while ago, finally i found it!
this amp is just awesome..
Ur guitar is AMAZING
Thanks for posting!
hello mate, i love your demo! and i keep watch it all the time because i love the sustain sound from your guitar... by the way, what kind of amp and setting did you use?
thank you for the info 😀
Man..I LOVE the white version of the Syn Gates guitar like you have here. That would be the one I'd get if I were in the market for a new guitar!! I would get the sustainer in mine as well!!!
Nice stuff dude
Dude, very nice vid! I want a Syn Custom S BAD!!!
Nice vid bro, got a sick schecter with sustainiacs and didn't know how to use them properly - real helpful. Btw 9v batteries are way too expensive lol
I got a question for ya dude. how long does a 9v last on your sustainiac? and are you having to buy new batteries a lot or do you just recharge them?
You play dame good man good stuff.
I bought mine from a different website before it was available on Amazon.com a couple years ago. This guitar simply looks and sounds amazing. The Duncan Invaders provide that Synyster sound that you are looking for. It is extremely comfortable to play with the jumbo frets. The only con about this guitar is that the gold finish on the knobs that your strap attaches to wear down to silver over time.
here is the link to it in case anyone is interested:amzn.to\15iCjYG
this guitar is fucking awesome, man! It's a perennial eargasm every time I hear it!
@60millionaire
I do not know, you need to ask them!
And also, ordering it from the website isnt really that hard, you just go there and fill in your billing info(credit card) and address and they'll send it to you.
And btw, there is a new Schecter Synyster Custom-S coming in January 2012, it has the Sustainiac already installed! Cause installing one into a guitar will decrease the value of the guitar by half because of the cutting and drilling, But not on the new Custom-S since its factory done
It is NOT feedback, it's basically doing what an ebow would do. It makes the string resonate, like he said, until the battery dies.
Question: I've been thinking about getting the Sustainiac installed in my old Ibanez guitar. It currently has a Seymour Duncan pickup (Holdsy model) in the bridge. If I get the Sustainiac installed in the neck position, do I still get to use my Holdsy in the bridge? Obviously, I'm going to want every feature I can get on the Sustainiac & will need those switches installed. Thanks for any inputs.
Dude, that is a dream guitar, damned!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey man, got that comment when I was at my birthday party last night! Thanks!
i just got one. awesome
4:18 thats awesome man ive always wondered how the hell syn got that harmonic sound at the end of a note. like in the song so far away at the very end.
nice sound bro...!
@TheBoredGuitarGuy : you can get it installed on pretty much ANY guitar from strats to les Paul, a Parker fly...ECT
YA DUDE THAT WAS SICK
So how does it behave clean or slight breakup? Do you always have to play in headbanger mode, or can you plan clean notes that hold for extended periods?
You know, you don't always have to bow down, we hear your explanation quite well. No need to see your face that often, really.
You know, you didn't have to leave this comment, we were able to watch the video with no problems, no need for this input really
I would have loved to have hacks when I started playing 25 years ago. lol
Nice! How much was the sustainer system including the install/retrofit?
And, are there any guitars on the market that come stock with a sustainer?
did you have that sustainer installed? as far as i knew the white and gold with the built in sustainiac had gold inlays while the older model without the sustainiac had white?
This is so fucking awesome and so fucking worth it. I want the black with red stripes one, with the sustainiac. It costs about 500 euro more, but I see it's well worth. Thanks a lot for this review, best on youtube so far, btw. Finally someone who bothers showing how it actually works, which is really important, because now I see it totally different. Before, I though "I'm gonna buy the custom simple one, what's the huge deal about the sustainiac?". But it actually makes a huge difference :D
I'm wondering if this is used in the "Flying in a blue dream" intro. Can you upload a video playing it?
Its just so groovy!
If you have a Active guitar, such as my Hellraiser C7, do they need to install an additional battery pack? Also, where is the best place to get them? Thanks!
Well done. Needs me to get one. :-)
Hey dude, nice vid, can you tell me if the fretboard is flat like a les Paul or convex like a Strat? Picking one up next summer.
Both Joe Satriani and Steve Vai have guitars with a Sustainiac pickups in them and have used them on numerous occasions.
@deven98
Oeps, i said they dont sell it seperately, i mean, they dont sell it to other shops except when its already installed on a guitar, to buy it seperately, you need to buy it from their website.
Years ago I use to get guitar player magazine and they came with a little plastic record of the hottest players and demos of new devises. this had to be about 15 years ago. one of the records was a demonstration of the Sustainiac not sure but I think it worked differently. what I mean is that it was more of an vibrating unit on the head of the guitar. I wondering if this is a modified version of the design Enjoy your demonstration c];-D
@crazya7xs
You can buy it from either their website, or ask your local music store to buy them for you, and just let them install it. You can also install it yourself, but the thing is that you need to drill in the guitar, so yeah, i would recomment you to give it to a music store to do it for you!
What kind of guitar tech did you take it to for installation? I want to put one of these in my tempest custom, it sounds awesome. Nice video, dude.
One question: if you get it custom installed, do the micro switches have to be there? Because I can't see myself getting used to them there, I'd prefer them closer to the bridge
That's pretty fuckin sick dude! I think you did a good job on the explanation, didn't sound stupid. Don't be so hard on yourself!
I have a question. I planning on buying a guitar with an EMG 85/81 configuration and a Sustainiac at the neck. So, the neck pickup (EMG 85) is essentially a single coil pickup with the sustainiac turned off, right? Won't that effect my tone while using the neck pickup? Aren't single coils noisy?
Its no way to get aby other pickup neck when You have sustainiac. It have to be on neck position.
your Schecter Synyster Gates Cutom w/ Sustaniac + the strap look like Angle seriously bro it look soo fucking awesome :')
HOLY FREAKING CRAP DUDE I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
this a little delayed but around how much did it cost to have the sustaniac installed into this guitar? I have the purple and green one and am thinking about getting it installed
Dead skin mask by slayer did that way before that band. Also he use fernandes guitar picks ups I think
Its made by Levy's (i caught a glimpse of the logo when he leaned over). I believe its called the Levy's MSS71GC 1 1/2" Carving Leather Guitar Strap w/ Western Buckle in White. However i have found that it is difficult to find in White. The most common colors are black and tan but it comes in like 8 colors.
loving the avenged sevenfold fretboard inlays
coolio bro! Nice gizmo!
I have an Synyster Standard and I want to have the place for the battery, and put this front pick up and all this, It is possible and how is the cost ?
Hey Utube! Shean great demo. How much did you pay for the whole installation?
yo this is awesome! Your the king and as a a7x fan i get pissed when any changes are made in anyway on there sound but this is awesome and i want to know more! i am my self picking up a syn custom here in about two weeks maybe you could help me get that syn sound?
7:00 Lost Without You eh? :D great review man, great job.
Hey i was wondering when the sustaniac is just on i heard the low e string kind of just rings constantly, is that true?
Thanks for the video. I was thinking of getting a Fernandes Sustainer pickup vs. the Sustainiac. My question is: What type of bridge pickup do you have? Do u need an active bridge pickup with the sustainiac?
