I'm 60 years and my friend turned me on to you guys two months ago. When I listen to Bat country I was hooked. I've also been playing guitar for 30 years and trying to play some of these songs are so difficult. You guys sound great, so I went out and bought me a few albums and now I listen to you guys everyday. The music is just an amazing collection of Melody chords and rock and roll. God bless you guys
these guys are awesome! a lot of people take them for granted because they had that emo thing going on and are a more mainstream band but they're great musicians!

I feel like you can tell when someone has a natural talent for something, and he clearly doesn’t, like guitar was not his thing, however it shows that time, effort, and hard work always wins, and he made guitar his thing
just a youtube commentator just a youtube commentator everyone has something that comes natural to them, for some people, playing guitar just kinda comes to them, Gates was not one of those people, it didn’t come natural, he had to work long and hard to get just that good, not to mention how good he is today

I bought my first guitar at the end of 2021 and I find it very difficult to learn but I keep it going, no matter what. It gives me hope that some day I'll be able to perform at least half of what Syn and Zacky do. And I admire every lifelong guitarist that I see, because it's now clear for me how hard it is to be good at playing, you're awesome bro! FoREVer 🤟🏻
@@emanuelfreitas1684 Guitar is one of those things you have to be really persistent with trying to learn and also knowing that yes, at first, you're going to sound terrible and it'll be that way for a while. Just keep challenging yourself and you *will* get better. It's really easy to get discouraged but just keep pushing through
He was named one of the top 20 shredders by revolver magazine. There's a few. But none that are as clean on their licks show after show, after show! Just my opinion tho lol
chewygooch1 to be honest he is pretty sloppy compared to some of the virtuosos like jeff loomis, petrucci, etc. don't get me wrong he is very good but he is pretty low on the list in terms of technical skill. however people like him because he has a unique sound that totally distinguishes him from other guitarists. everyone here needs to listen to some paul waggoner. that man sounds better live than he does in studio which is saying something because he is perfect in studio

most of a7x is metal, and what isnt metal is also amazing. it doesnt matter what genre they are, they r just the best band out there right now. and syn is not only one of the most technically skilled guitarists out there, but one of the most creative. his solos are unique, not just typical metal solos. this is why he deserves to be idolized

They were required back then to do that to their nails in tutorial videos since the quality wasn't great. It was to help make sure the viewer could see what fret they were on.
In my opinion one of the best guitarists out there at the moment. Very technical very fast and most important he writes some of the most melodic stuff out there. Yea vai and malmsteen amaze me but not enough to buy their records.
Syn wrote incredible solos, especially on Bat Country and Avenged Sevenfold. They were melodic, worked great with each song while also having a lot of metal influence and speed. He's an incredible live player, plays great. Iron Maiden is in another era. If Maiden came out these days, they wouldn't stand a chance. As their recent record sales show. Syn's playing is up to date, better. Maiden is stuck in the 80s.
The solo was very unique when this came out. It actually reminded me of Christmas music. I didn't realized it was double tracked. I thought the rhythm guitar was syncing up.
