When you get your double signal across the small inner coil loop try going back and forth from east to west as you move the coil forward and back north to south direction..if it's a coin the double repeating signal will stop in about 3 inches..if it's a can or sprinkler the signal will stretch farther about 6-8 inches...but I still dig them because sometimes it's a row of coins

I did but no longer have these 2 machines. I hear the 10 inch adds very little if any depth but does of course increase sweep area.
