    note for this machine: if you want to find relics, lead and copper spoons/copper items ring up as aluminum/zinc... pennies/silver dimes are 10cent, i usually only have the coin signals on tho

    Hey buddy, I got a video title for you, "Emotional Damage!" Thanks for the real video, those TikTok ones upset me (treasure every where). I learned that I do in fact need a Pinpointer after watching your video and that if I make about $1 a day in change, I should have my $70 Bounty Hunter IV paid off in about two months. Sure I won't be able to pay my bills, but at least I'll be happy.

    I found a Walking Liberty half dollar in my yard a few days ago with my Bounty Hunter 202. It rang up as a quarter and I did the "lift the coil" test and almost didn`t dig it because it was picking it up high above the target and I thought it was trash.

    4:30 looked like two targets adjacent to each other, you should've rechecked with the coil for a 2nd target after you removed the bike valve. Also, might as well notch out zinc because you're already losing gold by eliminating your iron and foil.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  Před 8 lety +2

      Thanks for the tip man...definitely a habit I should pick up. I also gold prospect so dont really go hard for rings. I get my gold fix that way. Most parks around here are pretty trashy. Without discing out iron and foil and tabs I would be there all day.
      Some zinc signals actually end up being coppers...plus I figure is I leave zinc and nickels Ii might still get lucky without have to go bonkers with trash.
      I am mostly in it for coins right now...if a rings shows up...so be it. But not my priority.
      Thanks for the replies man...very helpful.

    Hello 'TheHunterGT' ! I have a Teknetics Eurotek Pro with the standard 11" DD coil and I'm really disappointed with the recovery speed of this machine. I know it doesn't help to have the large coil (but) on almost any recovery speed test video, even the smaller gold and nugget coil doesn't really solve the slow recovery speed problem with the newer ones either and maybe you have a similar problem with your new-style Lone Star too?? The recovery speed or lack thereof, with the newer 1st Texas detectors in general, has been an issue with those MD'ers 'in the know'. As you probably know, high recovery speed is (very) important at trashy parks or any other trashy site for that matter. This is a very under-respected necessity that (many) detectorists don't take seriously. BUT it's one of the most important, if not, the most important abilities of (any) detector (regardless) of the brand and/or model. Depth (is) important but recovery speed is at least, (equally) important, if not, (more) important than just large coils and raw depth. In fact on (ANY) detector, the bigger the coil, the harder it is for (any) machine (regardless) of the brand/model, to detect multiple trash-next-to-goodies. AND, contrary to the over-popular, WAY-TOO-PREVALENT belief, coil size (doesn't) matter. This has (nothing) to do with the depth of (any) machine. The transmit power of the machine, sweep height, discrimination level, along with many other factors, determines one's success rate. So what's your assessment of (your) machine in terms of recovery speed as in the case of nail/dime/nail/dime testing where the nail is actually touching both sides of the dimes on down the line. Have you ever done this ultimate test with your new-generation Lone Star yet TheHunterGT ?? Thanks. Sincerely, Greg.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  Před 8 lety

      +Prairie G I do not think you are wrong at all Greg. The recovery speed is not wonderful at all on my Lone Star Pro. It will absolutely struggle a patterned nail/dime/nail/dime setup. Although I do not think it is slow enough to frustrate me personally, as the discrimination and unmasking on it is pretty good, and makes up for the lack of speed. It will still beep on the dimes and ignore the nails....which in the end works fine. If the speed is not fast enough to hit each target...at least it picks the good targets to hit and ignores the trashy ones. I just swing it lower and slower in trash and make sure I walk 360 around the target looking for repeats. Then I do small 2-4 inch sweeps to make 100% it is a viable target and semi-pinpoint it.
      The LSP beats my BH Sharp Shooter 2 in speed...so there are slower machines. However...my sons $60 Gold Digger absolutely destroys it as it is crazy fast. My Garrett Scorpion was quite fast and beats it handily as well.
      In my opinion recovery speed and separation are more important than depth any day of the week. Depth is really the last item on my list where I live. Colorado hard pack hits silvers all day at 2-6 inch range. No need for a 14 inch detector out here unless relic hunting...and I'm just not into that as of right now. Coins and nuggets for me....and those can be found plenty in the 1-8 inch range.
      While the speed of the LSP is not great by any stretch of the imagination...I feel is make up for it with the disc and separation/unmasking capabilities.

    • @conan6908
      @conan6908 Před 6 lety

      That's unfortunate. It seems like, from what you're telling me here, BH has 'shot itself in the foot' (again), just like they did with their (older-generation) Time Ranger, Land Ranger, and Discovery series. They are just way too slow. Too bad BH and to some extent, Teknetics does this. They develop and build a great i.d.-type detector but then they don't take that darn lag time out of their digital models. Garrett also has this lag problem with the AT Pro and so, I would think, also the AT Gold. The Teknetics and I guess, the more expensive $200+ BH models seem to do better though on recovery speeds/response times to individual targets right next to bad or good targets. Believe it or not, their Tracker IV doesn't really have this annoying lag problem and isn't really affected negatively by iron or disc'd-out trash bits next to a good target. I found much of my best targets with my little TK IV. Not a 'depth king' but not the worst out there either. It's a mid-depth detector. The Tracker II is more expensive and feels more substantial but doesn't go as deep as the TK IV.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  Před 7 lety +2

      I have never used one but hope to do a review on one soon. Pretty familiar with the platform. If coin shooting a park or school run the discrimination until a nickel sounds good. Dig it all above nickels. If you can figure out the notch feature on it try to notch out in between nickels and zinc pennies.
      For a relic site just dig anything above iron. Listen for those high tone pops. Best of luck with it.

    Hey Buddy nice video thanks for the lessons. I'm new to this and have this exact detector and I'm wondering if you could answer a question. When I find a coin ( Even just testing it on the cement ) , my beep sounds like yours but it's also accompanied with a garbled lower tone as well it's nowhere near as clear as your sound. Any idea why that would be? Thanks from Vancouver Island B.C. Canada..

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  Před 6 lety +1

      It might be due to the Canada coins having steel inside of them? The detector may sense that so try to give a low tone which is steel and iron. That is my best guess.
