    I know it's a old video but I bought the SS2 @ big 5 yesterday. The combo kit with all the accessories and actually found a 6.3 gram gold nugget this morning here in Nor Cal. The Pin pointer actually works very well. I was thinking it would be as most people have indicated. But I don't have any trouble pinpointing in the plugs or hole with it so far. I've only used it once having just gone this morning for the first time in at least 10 years. So hopefully it will live up to it's opening day performance. But only time will tell. I paid $219 for the detector and combo kit at Big 5.

    I have this detector and love it. It works great. Good fir a beginner too. Not good to go out and buy really expensive detectors as a first detector. First day I used this detector it was accurate in detecting what I found. Also the digger wax perfect size for my hand. I have smaller hands than most woman my size. I’m five foot three and wear kids size 3 and 4 shoes too. But I would not say the digger is
    Only good for kids. I would say it’s personal preference. It does detect gold and silver. This is great motivation to go get exercise and it’s great for getting out during covid and having fun

    I own two of these,got one for $20 at the swap meet new in the Big 5 box with the accessories and my first one at Walmart for $50 on clearance...they are very easy to use and I find coins and silver rings fast in the parks..gets a little tricky when multiple targets are together..I don't usually dig the low tones because 99% are pull tabs so I'm probably passing up some gold jewelry every now and then...and yeah it sucks for small gold...I have a Gold bug 2 for that.

      For coins and silver rings to 5-6 inches...there is not much out there that can touch a Tracker 4. Very fast machine with decent separation and unmasking. For many people...it is all the detector they will ever need.

      I doubt they will ever release a true gold machine under the BH name. They will leave that to the Fisher or Teknetics name (all 3 owned by First Texas Products). The Time Ranger "Pro" at 19khz is the newest Bounty Hunter release...and based off the F19 (G2+). It is likely as close as they will get to making a gold machine under that brand.

    I've been thinking about getting my first metal detector so have watched many review videos. I have come to the conclusion that most detectors can't distinguish between a pull tab and a gold ring. Considering the atomic structure of the two are at almost opposite ends of the scale and with today's technology, this surprises me. Maybe someday someone will invent a detector that compares mass to volume. Then you will have a detector that can truly discriminate

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  Před 6 lety +3

      Thom Vogan When that day comes that detector will cost $20K. Until then they will continue to work based on cunductivity. Gold and aluminum are very close there.
