Growing up with a Viet mom, I didn't even question the chopsticks because thats _exactly_ what I would've done lmao
I'm not Asian and I do the same thing. They are also great for flipping bacon....
One of the very best ways to have a beef roast. I grow and pickle my own pepperoncini peppers just for this recipe.
Dandruff flake potatoes! Perfect description... The recipe sounds super yummy.
My husband calls them potato fakes.
I know that stuff ain't real - they make me poop like a boat motor. Instant mashed? More like instant diah-.
that and instant, forgive me Lord, tea.
@@charlesmangum3108 Instant tea? I've never heard of such a thing but the British in me(several generations back) is offended at the very notion. Sounds dreadful.
pet dander
I don't know who doesn't like potato skins mixed in a little with the mashed potatoes. It's more tasty that way.
Also that final product looks so good 🤤. Will have to try the recipe sometime soon
Yeah! And that’s where most of the minerals live, too.
I dont
For what it’s worth, I leave the skins on apples when I make apple pie. It’s quicker, it keeps the minerals in there, and my family likes it. I don’t think anybody notices that there are peels in the pie.
depends on the type of potatoes. Red Potatoes, its amazing, russets not so much
Skins are the best part and have all the nutrients!
As an Italian, I love when I heard you can never have too much garlic. 😁
If you watch Jackie Chan adventures: Uncle Approves this message
"You can never have too much garlic" are words to live by!!!
I don’t garlic on fish, though
I’m not Italian but I agree!
@@gareginasatryan6761 I garlic EVERYTHING lol😂
My wife makes this and it is the best! She loves it because it is super easy too.
I love making Mississippi pot roast. I also make Mississippi chicken by using chicken bouillon and some corn starch instead of the au Jus. I add lots of pepperoncinis. I like to make it in my pressure cooker if I don't have time to let it cook all day.
Make this about twice a month, awesome. Eat the leftovers the next day on some Hawaiian rolls with mozzarella cheese, yum. Two meals 1 crockpot can't beat it.
😋
I would watch Talia make a PB&J.
I definitely would too
But would it be deep fried?
Try PB&J French Toast 😋
@Timothy Mckee Don't you dare mention Air Fryer in this channel. Respect the south.
as a carnivore from Mississippi, I love all of this. who cares if it was quick and easy. it was also damn good!
I'm litteraly the same way. Born and raised here, always have been a carnivore
Yall, dont be scared but... it's got a vegetable in it.
This is perfect timing because I'm going to make a crockpot roast for Christmas day, so I don't have to cook all day!
Great plan. I'm doing the same thing. Easy clean up too.
Save a step and a knife and just put the whole stick of butter on top of the roast and walk away. It'll be fine trust me!
Me too
Never a truer statement: there's no such thing as too much butter

Talia - can't thank you enough for this recipe. Made it this past weekend and it was the best Pot Roast I have had since my Mom's over 50 years ago. And so simple to make.
"wash your hands 'cause now you have raw meat juice on your hands and that's gross." .. .. hahaha,.. that was too cute.
I use about double that amount of butter and heavy cream instead of milk in the potatoes. Talk about heaven on a plate.
That looks really tasty, when I die I hope my Nanny has a pot roast cooking in heaven, I miss my grandmother’s cooking so very much
Talia’s Korean side totally comes out with the amount of garlic she loves & uses.
And I’m TOTALLY here for it.
Oh Talia, looks SO yummy, and the pot roast looks good too.... LOL Merry Christmas !! According to Southern Living, Mississippi Pot Roast was the invention of Robin Chapman, a mom from Ripley, Mississippi who stumbled upon the creation in the '90s when she tried to make her aunt's pot roast recipe less spicy for her kids.
Thank you for sharing so we don't all have to look it up! Merry Christmas 🎄
@@jenna6149 Merry Christmas to you and yours..
Discovered Mississippi Pot Roast two years ago. One of my favorite meals.
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤️❤️
My mom just made this for dinner 😂 But she throws the potatoes in with the roast along with baby carrots and cooks it together
I made this for my son, his gf, and I and it was phenomenal, my son had 3 helpings of it, so I'm glad I doubled up on everything!! The gravy this makes is almost sinful!!!
"Why are you using chopsticks"? Talia's Asian mom enters the chat..😄
My wife and I’s favorite pot roast! We make it often, but we dump the entire jar of peppers and vinegar and use an entire stick of butter. Also, a really good veggie to add to the crock if you’re laying off carbs is radishes! They absorb every bit of the flavor of the cooking jus.
Thanks for making me smile throughout the whole thing. Love you guys! Merry Christmas to everyone!
We called them, "Country potatoes" with the skins. You can cook about any type potato that way if you cook them enough time and smash them up well. Best tasting to me and more nutrients than just potato starchy...mm...stuff. LOL Merry Christmas to all the IAST group.
My two crock pots are like family. Small one and big, they take care of us, we take care of them. There's nothing like a venison roast cooking on a cold winter day
I follow a ton of cooking channels on CZcams and Talia's Kitchen should DEFINITELY be its own channel
Because this is so delicious and easy, my neighbor made this two days in a row. That's how quickly it disappeared. Luckily, he shared. He added a few personal touches - sliced onion, a few carrots, and the small potatoes all together. Also, being the impatient type, he cooked it in one of those insta-pot/pressure cooker jobs. Now about that garlic on your potatoes - wow! Though I can hardly cook without garlic, that's one heckuva lot of garlic! Looking forward to more recipes from your kitchen.
"Literally a child could do it" ... sounds like a great recipe to get kiddos started on learning to cook.
PS: "au jus" is pronounced "oh zhew" ... in French 'au' is pronounced 'oh' and means in. Literally 'in juice'.
It always amuses me when people use "au jus" as a noun. "Where's the in juice?"
When I see Talia Lin in a video, it's always a winner!! 🥰😇
I usually hate watching cooking videos but something about this lady keeps me entertained. def making this tomorrow!!❤️
I'm sending this to my husband. This is great.
The best part of this video is eating something much worse and imagining what I am eating is actually amazing stuff shown in the video.
Never heard of this recipe. I'm born and raised in MS, all my family for 200 hundred years. BUT, I'm gone make this! SOON! Wow!
Merry Christmas and happy new year Talia! 🎄 We love you! ♥️🥰
Talia. BEST fun YET! Love it 😄
See cooking can be so much fun when someonel like you is doing the cooking. Thanks for your great cooking videos.
"Why you using chopsticks?" My favorite part is the fact that Talia is quite literally using those chopsticks for the exact use they were originally intended! 😂
Talia, I’m ‘new southern’. No hiding it, I don’t have your beautiful accent! I LOVE watching your cooking videos. There’s nothing I would like more than to learn some of these southern dishes! Please keep making them!
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!❤️❤️
I've made this twice since I first saw the video. MOst excellent and now a family staple. Cheers from North Carolina
Talia, i used your recipe and made my first ever pot roast. It was the bomb. Thank you.
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤️❤️
All that powdered garlic made my head spin, there's no way I could handle that much! The rest looked doable tho😉
I know! I saw how much came out first and thought, "oh no! It's ruined!" Then she kept adding more 😳 To each their own!
@@liliesandbuttercups well I guess we could say bless their heart for eating it and not saying a word no matter how much milk they had to drink! Truth be known they probably switched it out😄
My jaw dropped when I watched her add even more garlic powder. A little of that stuff goes a long way, so there is no way those potatoes were edible after that much. Everything else looked tasty, however, seasoning aside.
I will definitely be making this. It looks so good.
Mississippi pot roast would be really cute for a grinch themed Christmas dish roast beast .

Love it...only roast I make.
I just finished mine for my sons birthday dinner today. I do slow roast it at 250 degreed over night though. Same difference really. Delicious!!
Btw please sear it. It makes a big difference to me. Its a depth of flavor thing.
We cook ours the same way but we dump the whole jar of pepperoncinis, with juice, into the crockpot (or smoker in an aluminum pan).
Also, made it by cubing up a pork loin instead of the chuck roast and it turned out fantastic too.
We add the pepper juice too! Makes a lovely gravy that way.
You should add some liquid to the slow cooker. It's not good to cook a roast dry like that. I use about a cup or so of broth. When I'm making pepperoncini beef, I just dump in the whole jar with its juice instead.
I’m loving Talia’s kitchen! Now I’m hungry!
“Cause there’s no such thing as too much butter.”

The morning after Christmas can be a bit too quiet and unexciting. Finding a new Talia's Kitchen episode revived the excitement of the season. Thank you!

Going to try this thanks. Normally I get really bad anxiety and have never made mashed potatoes but these seem easy enough. 🙂
i JUST bought 4 packs of Mississippi Roast for our Christmas dinner!
i use cubanelle peppers. cuz i've been practicing the best flavors for my family.
I got a new Crock Pot for Christmas and I love pot roast so I am going to make this. Talia, you have so much charm and its great fun watching you cook. I never thought to use those peppers and ranch seasoning so you broadened my horizons. Thank you!
One of my favorite things to make 😊
My family LOVES Mississippi pot roast. We put two whole sticks of Kerrygold Irish butter on top of the roast to make it extra yummy.
Live alone, rarely cook , but I do have a crock pot I rarely use. I've GOT to try this!

This is a great recipe. I can't wait to try it.
That looks really good! Thank you Talia 😃
Keep the series going, love it!!!!
I made this and my friends love this. I added carrots and potatoes to the crack pot well. I also left the roast whole and didn’t shred it but the flavors were amazing.
Add corn bread or homemade biscuits to sop up the juice.
Mississippi Pot Roast is GREAT!!!!
Looks and sounds yummy! Good on you, Mississippi!
This is a must make! This looks delicious 😋
I've made this for years! It's insanely good!!!
Best roast we've had in a long time!
No onion? I guess that makes it Texas pot roast if you add a small onion (chopped) and a bag of baby carrots to the pot roast. Yours looks delicious though Talia. Thanks for getting up early to show us a finished one. Pro move!
This looks so good and I am so excited just seeing Talia cook! I cannot wait to watch this with my husband!
Made this just yesterday...so juicy rich and savory! Had it for breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurt..no kiddin..try this y'all!!
That looks absolutely amazing!!!!
I make this all the time. It is so easy even my son can make this with no problem. It originated with Robin Chapman in Ripley, MS. By the way you can substitute stew meat for the roast.
Spot on. Love it.
You are AMAZING in the kitchen!!! (We love you.) 💕😎💕😎💕😎💕
That looks very tasty! Can't wait to try this out! Great video Talia! More please!
That looks so good! My daddy was a Mississippi boy. My grandmother and great-grandmother were Mississippi born. They never used Instat pots! LOL!
Thanks Talia! Look yummy and so easy. Keep these videos coming! Made the shrimps and grits from your video. Tasty!
I will have to look at the past videos. I need these kinds of recipes.
I made this for the first time on Sunday. It was so good!
I’ve been making this for years. It’s SO delicious and super easy.
That was so good I tried it a while back so so good thanks
Looks delicious! Thanks, Talia!

Tried it. Was phenomenal.
This is one of my favorite recipes.
Just made this recipe - delicious! Recipe is definitely a keeper. I put carrots, potatoes & Brussels sprouts in the pot to cook along with the roast, whole meal in one crockpot! 😋
Talia way to young (she younger than me) to be my granny and they all passed away but she now my spirt granny. She also the new leader of this channel.
Side note I'm in AR and my great grandma used to make something real close to this. She just added a boat load of spices with the packets.
I add part of the brine and all the peppers, yummy

Tried this once. One of the best tasting roasts I've had by far.
Yummy, I can't wait to try this. Thank you for sharing.

I was so hoping she would just stick the butter stick in there standing up when she said birthday candles ! My husband and I both enjoyed the video thank you so much!
One potato, two potato, three potato, four.
Talia's grabbed the Garlic,
We'll need to add ten more.
This made me get out of bed and head on down to the Jitney Jungle right past the Dollar General
I've done this pot roast and it's wonderful.
Easy and tasty! Looks great..
Even I could get that right. Great suggestion Talia.
I made the deviled eggs for thanksgiving and it was a big hit! Thanks Talia!!!
As a single guy whose idea of cooking is Chinese Takeout... I love Talia!! I'm going out right now to buy a crockpot! 😄
