I don't know that it is exactly a parody so much as a slap at the snobbish self proclaimed elite cooks who basically say their way is the only way. My great-grandmother raised five boys farming in Georgia by making 12 dozen biscuits every morning in a woodburning stove. Had frozen biscuits existed back then she'd have probably lived 20 years longer. Never apologize for a good frozen biscuit, and for the record Sister Shubert is my favorite sister.
@@rnptenafly 12 dozen sounds accurate. A breakdown: That 12 dozen was most likely a whole day's worth of biscuits, so at 3 meals a day, that's 4 dozen/meal. With 5 boys & great-grandpa to feed (& not counting what great grandma herself ate), that's 8 biscuits/person/meal. They didn't specify a size of the biscuit but I imagine that they were on the smaller side. Out of that 8 biscuits/person/meal, each person probably took 2 or 3 to snack on as they work/play. Farming is hard, sweaty work (especially in the Georgia heat) that burns a lot of calories. Combine that with the natural metabolism & exuberance of growing boys & all of a sudden, making 12 dozen biscuits a day to keep them all fed doesn't sound that outlandish! lol

Just a suggestion. I helped my mother fix BLTs for breakfast about a month ago. Yes, toasted white loaf bread and fresh cut tomatoes with mayonnaise. When cooking the bacon, parchment paper was used instead of tinfoil. The bacon doesn’t stick to parchment paper and I really don’t think the sheet pan needed a wash. Not trying to be critical, but just save a little time.
