my mom owns a jelly and jam company, mostly selling at festivals. Every time she does an event in the South, she always sells out of her Mountain Dew jelly.
The recipe is actually pretty simple. Get a couple of 2 liter bottles of Mountain Dew, put them in a pot and slowly boil them down until you have a syrup. Add the proper amount of sugar, and pectin, and bingo! You have Mountain Dew jelly. I'm sure the recipe is somewhere out there online. If you guys can't find it, just let me know and I'll ask my mom to give it to me so I can put it here.
The fact that I live in Tennessee and seen my husband add Mountain Dew to tequila and drink it without flinching but acts grossed out when I do ginger ale instead is ridiculous.

I found this out last month myself! If you live past a certain age and drink Mountain Dew, your pancreas AND your heart, do indeed try to beat the crap out of you!
Lol. Very true! Of course there's a lot of sugar, but people also seem to be forgetting the insane amount of caffeine in it. Personally, I always felt that there was more caffeine in Mountain Dew than in other 'normal' sodas. I don't know if that's true or not, but I DEFINITELY felt more amped up after drinking a MD than other sodas.
Well I like using mtn dew in my pico de gallo you get extra spicy peppers and dew all the normal stuff but then add a bit of the few and it kicks it up like 10x like a sweet and spicy thing going on
This inspired me to try a Mountain Dew for the first time in decades. I remember why I liked it at 12 and also why I grew out of it. It's cloying, and a little goes a long way. Like Oprah.

Dew, ginger ale, and Sprite are great mixers for almost any hard booze, also should have tried an Island Dew instead (basically a Long Island Iced Tea but with Dew!)
A Code Red Mtn Dew Float made like a root beer or orange float is da bomb!!! If you add a drizzle of chocolate syrup in the glass before adding the ice cream and Code Red, you get a chocolate covered cherry. Then there’s Code Red with Vodka...Yummy!!! Can ya tell that I love Code Red? I shouldn’t drink it because I’m diabetic, but Diet Code Red or Diet Caffeine Free Mtn Dew is hard as hell to find, and when ya need your caffeine and can’t stand even the smell of coffee, you go for what you love.
