  • You Have to stay tune to the end of the video to see the night video of the fire coming from the turbo prop
    The purpose of the video was also to document the RPMs of the propeller
    There are several videos of just starting and stopping The whole system.

    There's nothing more beautiful than watching and hearing a turboprop startup. So awesome! I remember sitting in my dad's Kodiak every morning doing cargo runs in Alaska. My favorite part was always a startup. So cool to see it in RC. Thanks for sharing!

    i dont like staring into a plane of rotation lol. i would love to see a tear down of one of these see how substantial the power take off is off the turbine to spin such a big prop like that

    No, the propellers go in the right direction you can see the leading edge awesome turbine gotta get myself one of those😂👍🇨🇦

    Just on video which isn't very exact I'm seeing a one to two millimeter wobble in the tip of that spinner cone. Not sure if it's mounted incorrectly or the shaft is bent but you should deal with that before you have a catastrophic failure!

    Beautiful! Those look to be Porter exhausts, is there a Porter in the mix?

    How is the low speed rpm resolution for landing? Is there a significant delay in spooling up response if a go around or small fine adjustment is needed to land?

    • @warbirdmitchell4510
      @warbirdmitchell4510  Před rokem

      Oh yes, just like a jet you have a three seconds spool up. Actually, a turbo prop is probably more like 4 to 5 seconds so there is a little bit of a delay in RPMs when you push the throttle forward. You just have to know you’re landing and know that if it doesn’t look great, go ahead and go around it don’t take the chance or have an alone runway, helps as well.

    Is a turbo prop worth it performance wise over a piston if you're still fixed pitch? There wouldn't be one fixed pitch full size turbo prop in the world. Or is it mainly for scale purposes not performance

    • @warbirdmitchell4510
      @warbirdmitchell4510  Před 2 lety

      Well we’re talking about a model airplane here so it’s about the fun factor not the performance factor like an a real Full scale airplane
