    I am a Aerosmith fan but I have to admit that the Aerosmith+RUN-DMC version is a fun blast like the FAT-BOYS+Beach Boys Wipe Out it's just a fun song.

    I remember when this video first came out. Mixing genres of music was mostly unheard of at the time so it raised a few eyebrows. When it did hit the waves, it had a whole new sound and broke a few barriers at the same time. Good job, Run DMC and Aerosmith.

      @@Vaisin Sure, but not as big as THE ROLLING STONES! The Stones started out pretty much when The Beatles did (early 60s) and had hits all through the 60s, 70s, and part of the 80s.
      Also, I remember reading an article about the movie, "This is Spinal Tap," and Aerosmith was pretty sure that Rob Reiner based Spinal Tap on THEM (Spinal Tap even sits in front of a record store vainly trying to promote albums with mirrored covers to no one at all; have you ever seen the Aerosmith's "Done With Mirrors" album/CD?), so compared to Zeppelin, the Stones, etc., yeah, I can see how even people not in the music industry could think of Aerosmith as derivative.

    This version with Run-D.M.C. and Aerosmith is the absolute best version of "Walk this Way." Watching the music video is amazing! Loved it when it came out and still love it!

    I remember DMC being the laid back quiet guy of the group who was always just chilling, kinda like a man of few words. But we you see him today, on tv or CZcams doing interviews this man speaks with so much fire and passion that you can't help but respect him.

    I remember hearing this here in Australia for the first time and playing it for my friends. It was all over the radio and within weeks every second person was wearing the iconic RUN DMC t shirt in black. Such a legendary song and 2 legendary bands.

    Run DMC / Aerosmith collaboration helped shape 90's alternative rock. Listen to Sneaker Pimps, Garbage, Stone Temple Pilots etc, they all use hip hop beats. Even industrial rock / industrial dance samples hip hop.

    This version with DMC is one of my favourite songs ever, and I'm coming from the rock-end of the music spectrum. Those DMC boys totally made this, and the official video was fantastic.

    VMA's 9/9/99 with Run DMC, Aerosmith, and Kid Rock is still one of my all time favorite live performances! Chris Rock was hosting and made fun of Kid Rock when introducing him, but seemed to become an instant fan during the performance!
