You have to make sure the Zoom glasses are lined up with your Kinects Lens
and re-calabrate.

Yes it sounds like the Zoom will work in your set up. In addition, we recommend the Kinect with Zoom installed be placed below the TV so as to not affect detection of the floor. We highly suggest you also watch and read our set up guide and more at our website

Nyko is just amazing. Yeah they messed up with the original intercooler for the Xbox but they learned from their mistakes and have been damn near perfect ever since. The Intercooler S/ Charge bases/3DS Battery Pack have all been fantastic. I love Nyko products and I am buying this day one. I have no doubt in my mind that it will work perfectly!

I have it and it gives you the desired effect.
The lenses have a fisheye effect and will place a black cutout around the 3D depthmap... So I'd say it's usefull if you want to stand really close to the kinect.
@Savci008 The Zoom seems simple enough, but each lens had to be finely tuned, and the casing specially designed to provide the compatibility and performance our customers demand. There are also several patents being taken out by Nyko on the Zoom.

@crackzattic Yes it will. The Zoom provides a wider more expansive viewing angle for the Kinect Sensor including vertically. Results will vary from game to game though and for best results be sure to calibrate the Kinect Sensor for use with your daughter before she plays.
@BonesBelieber1424 It depends on how spaced out all 3 players are, but if you stand closer together your results should be between 6 to 8 feet.
@SVOddball Your distance from the Kinect with the Zoom attached will vary depending on the software requirements for each title. However, it is about a 40% decrease in the amount of space needed to play. For some games that means you can about 4 feet away.

The Zoom will not warp the images of your Kinect but in same cases you will see a black ring around the photo that is the edge of the lens. This does not interfere with gameplay however. The Zooms is made of plastic, and is designed to minimize weight so as to not stress the motors on the Kinect unit.

@climbd45714 It varies from game to game and how the sensor is used in the software but in some cases, yes, you can be 3.5 feet away from the sensor and still play.
@sonicgen20 It depends on the game, but you can get up to a 40% reduction in play space needed.
@slade6alpha The black corners are normal and do not impede or affect the tracking ability of the Kinect.

@AngryCrowTakesFlight No. The Zoom for Kinect does not hinder the accuracy of your games in any way. Your Kinect will still work as normal, just you'll be able to play up to 40% closer with the Zoom attached.
Update: I can get it to work, if your room is especially dark, it has problems. Increase the ambient light in your room and it works relatively well. I replaced some bulbs from 85w to 100w and now I can play.
@doomer yes the Zoom reduced the play space needed for both single and 2 player games on Kinect.
So will this help with height at all? my 3 year old is a little too short sometimes and the sensor losses her. thanks
GO NYKO! Freaking Microsft never thought of this when they released the kinect. Not everyone have space to play. The playstation Eye zooms in and out since launch, just saying -_-; now i can play my dance central yay!
How can i tell if the zoom is working? i just hooked up my kinect and i used the kinect without zoom for a bit. Then i attached the zoom, corrctly, with the system off. When i used the kinect after it was on it didnt look like the image on the bottom right changed much. i can only stand about a max of 6 feet from my kinect. i tried doing the face recongizer with the zoom attached and could barely complete it because of unavailable space. How do i really know its working?
The Zoom seems to have a 50/50 with people, some people hate it, others love it, doesn't seem to be an in between. I personally love it, I can now play in my itty bitty room....
you fixed the battery life of the 3ds, then the play space of the kinect. can you turn water into wine?

@EverythingJackass The Kinect does not affect accuracy of the Kinect either positively or negatively it simply allows you to play up to 40% closer. Hm, very interesting. My only question is why didn't microsoft think of this? Hopefully this will make the tracking of my body a little better, I'm a very big and tall guy, and I'm usually backed up against the wall so the sensor can see all of me.

@rubix4d Please watch our quick setup guide on our channel as it addresses this issue. Please make sure to keep your hand flat and towards your torso and make sure your head is visible to the Kinect sensor when in menus

I simply can't get mine to work. This is disappointing because with the lens, it's pretty much the only way I can play kinect.
@Johnnyboyinthehouse Bought one just recently myself and was amazed at how I could easily play my Kinect games. I had to literally stand with my back against the wall just to play some of the games I had. Works great for me. Love it.

...I love having my kinect but seriously do they need to make all kinect commercials look so gay with super giddy people that appear to be high and smacking shit in the air. If anything I think the commercials make people avoid the connect because they make it appear to be some gimmick.

My Zoom for kinect is terrible. I've followed all manuals, tried all angles, tried above TV, below TV, and the only effect I get is to get unrecognized 50% of the time. The game performance is poor, unresponsive. This is a downgrade to my kinect sensor. Even in a confined one-step-size playing area without your product is 100% better to play than with it. I'ts easier to play with my back stick to the wall than with zoom attachedt. That produt just makes kinect stupid.
