When the US invests in Latin America, no one say the US is taking over Latin America. When China invests in Latin America, people said that China is taking over Latin America. It is called double standards.
When U.S bombs the Middle East, no one bats an eye. But when, Russia does the same, everyone loses their minds.

All these Chinese investments won’t do anything, they are just building roads, railways and ports in order to extract resources from our countries. In the maps of Chinese infrastructure projects shown in the video, you can clearly see how literally all investments in Argentina and Bolivia, and somewhat Chile and Paraguay, were connecting the lithium reserves (some of the largest reserves in the world of that mineral) with the port of Buenos Aires.
South American countries should grow by themselves, but in a common way. We should invest in each other’s countries and integrate our economies more. That doesn’t mean simply closing ourselves to the exterior, but just doing it carefully. Our countries aren’t that strong nor have any leverage by themselves, it’s easy to take over us and manage every aspect of our economy and political decisions

Just came back from Mexico City and I've lived in China and Taiwan before. Yeah, DiDi and Chinese phones were everywhere. Not surprised. I've owned Xiaomi phones and laptops before and they're an amazing value. Apple, like in China, is still seen as a status symbol for the upper middle class who can afford it. Also Chinese metros are some of the best I've experienced. America doesn't produce affordable high quality tech or modern metro systems. Couldn't even pass an infrastructure bill. Western countries intentionally keep under developed countries and developing countries on a horizontal path that guarantees the West keeps its legacies. If you keep them poor and promise them freedom, they will never become a threat. No country in the world operates a charity. They invest or loan base on profits. China providing these high risk loans are at least moving some of the countries ahead by providing much needed capital that no Western countries are willing to offer. China wants a developing region that it can help grow through infrastructure building. As these countries become free of Western debt, China benefits by establishing businesses that will feed into the Chinese economy. For Latin America China is an alternative to Western colonialism that thrives on the basis of WIN-WIN COOPERATION. Latin America is quickly becoming more independent of Western exploitation. The colonies are becoming a political power block.
