China's tech influence is rapidly taking over the world. This scares the US because it could mean declining American influence. The West doesn't trust China's 5G technology. But who will come out the winner?

Yes, I laughed so hard when I first heard that the USA was accusing Huawei for spying several years back, because US tech companies had been data mining on their customers for years (Facebook, Google, CZcams, Microsoft, Apple, you name it). And let's not forget that US has this agency called CIA whose purpose is to spy on other countries. It's psychological projection where one is doing all the bad things to others and then suspecting others would do the same to him.😂

We've normalized the idea that American tech companies should have global dominance and never be challenged, while they swallow upmapps and technology from other countries and US developers alike, and become a global oligopoly. China did the right thing in protecting its tech industry and while it may be reoressive, it ultimately allowed China to compete with the US successfully.
And all the people coping, fet over yourselves. You can talk about cheap Chinese products (despite the fact that all your shit is made there, from low end to high end stuff), but the reality is, this is good for the world. While apple had an advantage selling in 3 major markets and still could not sell as much as Huawei for 3 consecutive years 2018-2019-2020 and that's the main reason why Huawei was banned. This is first most a matter of arrogant pride in always wanting to be first in everything. That is called "American Exceptionalism". Second, it is a matter of protectionism of American tech companies that are lobbing extensively to create an anti-competitive environment to keep their huge market share and increase profits. Maybe there are concerns about cyber-security in there somewhere, but you can be sure that since the US is actively doing it to everyone, that it assumes that it can be done to us.
Regardless, China will continue to move forward and there is nothing that the US and the Collective West can do to stop them. 3. I think that American companies are afraid to loose to China. Because honestly their innovation it’s just out of sci-fi films. Sky-trains, safe subways, and all the robots. I haven’t seen any other country to exceed this much in such field.

very nice video and very objective. loved it. Well I think the one who might lose, is US if they decoupled from China. China might be hurt if they decoupled from US, but as we can see, China might struggle without the US, but China will replace US market or even Euro Market by new south Asian market, South America Market and African and MIddle east market. At some point US with all of its action about security, which for me, is basically an excuse to fight against China to keep their hegemony. But if we look carefully, China have already started to decouple with US in many domains (Aeronautic, Cars, Food, Semi, High tech...). It's just a matter of few years before China will be self sufficient in almost all high tech in almost every domains. all other which is energy and food (because population is huge) they have already secure it with south America, Africa, Middle EAst, and South Asian countries (they starting to cancel order from US, Europe, Australia..) and China have already switch their economy to high tech instead of low end market. they have already start sending manufacturing of low cost asset to countries such as Cambodia, VietNam. on the other hand, all European and American companies that have decoupled with China are struggling a lot. Company such as Dell, Qualcom, Boeing, Micron... are loosing so much money. US politician forgot to always mention that they can take all technology locally into the US, biggest market is China. so even if they build factory there, it's a question of to who are they going to sell it? For the moment, no one can replace China market. Maybe India in a near future? But african countries seems to be the land of Russia and China now. and Middle east, seeing what's happening in Palestine, show why US is not very welcomed. Decoupling will be a huge mistake from US, but I think this is going to happen. China has already started as they don't want to be like Russia seeing their asset being taken.

That 3/4G signal you got is most probably Huawei base stations, these are the gear that #10 wants ripped out. The only reason why many rural areas in the West were finally getting connectivity is due to Huawei and ZTE which are now mandated to be ripped out and replace with Ericsson, Nokia or Samsung stations which were the main reason in the past why rural areas had so much difficulty getting connectivity, due to cost and commercial viability which the pricing of Huawei and ZTE allowed the rural providers to make it economically viable to provide these services to a sparsely populated area with a small user base.
As I understand it, for 5G, the main advantage of Huawei is really upgradability where you just plug in a 5G module into Huawei’s 4G stations so you don’t have to buy brand new everything while the competitors require brand new everything. The security narrative just got the biggest WTF a few weeks ago where Huawei was blamed by China hawks as the reason why HAMAS succeeded in the attack on Israel, they were using Huawei equipment so Mossad failed to intercept the intelligence, oh the irony of that statement. The IP theft narrative breaks down on 5G as Huawei holds the most number of patents on it, iirc 40% of all 5G patents are owned by Huawei, so I guess Huawei stole from themselves.
This silliness doesn’t help anyone and is slowly creating a divergence in tech standards. It will only end up with North America, Australia and most of EU+UK with 1 standard and Asia, Africa, and Central + South America with another standard. End result is a lot of head banging against the wall for engineers globally and end user PITA when going to different parts of the world.

When people talk about how the Chinese government funds the EV or tech industries, they solely refer to the public dollars that go to Chinese companies while keeping silent about the subsidy for Tesla. Indeed, the Shanghai government subsidizes Tesla with $85 million and low-priced lands. The beneficial policy was so progressive that many Chinese domestic manufacturers were jealous. Of course, the Shanghai grant is not without conditions- Tesla needs to satisfy its commitment to production capacity and employment to local government. Remember, the construction of Tesla's Giga Shanghai started in January 2019 and began to operate only one year later, which secured 500,000 EV production in 2020. It is a win-win solution: Tesla guaranteed its ambitious production capacity while Shanghai prompted the upgrading of EVs. More companies and technologies would have enjoyed these opportunities without the trader war.

All American car companies can spy on its occupants, so another clear case of security risk.

Chinese tech will likely have great price/performance compared to western technology and even compared to other Asian countries. And then yes, China's tech could be overtaking the world. I think it's good with tech progress but there also needs to be competition, so for example it would be good if Japan or maybe even some western country keeps up with the progress. The U.S. tech industry is declining I suspect because of lack of manufacturing capacity.
