    Wow! My grandparents had an '81 Signature Series with those wheels. I remember they took quite a bit of time to clean, but it was worth the effort. It would be a labor of love to restore one of these. Well done!

      I was eyeballing that blue one in the background. I LOVE that color, very unique shade of blue and IMO with the Roadster top/Carriage roof the Mark Vl look much better because the opera window is covered. To my eyes this makes the car look much better. There was also a special model (can’t recall the name) that had I think just the C pillars section of roof covered in vinyl and a band ending where the quarter windows Had coach lamps too and the few I’ve seen were that shade of blue. Might have been Emilio Pucci Ed but can’t recall

      @jakereal3604 The video for the blue one will be uploaded tomorrow evening. It is a Pucci. I think the other model you're thinking of is the Two-Tone Bill Blass.

    Such a great restoration on what must now be a rare car. I never paid a lot of attention to these years, but my cousin bought a new Mk6 four door and drove the wheels off of it. She was a realtor and put 50k a year on her cars. she always had good thing to say about the Mk6. The trim and vinyl top on that car must be a bear to get done properly without bending or denting trim. Kudos to him for the patience it had to require. It is really nice.

    You know, even if I could afford a Rolls Royce, even a brand new one, I'd still get one of these Lincoln Mark VI's. I had an 89 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series. I miss it so much, but it kept nickeling and diming me every single week. After 23 mechanical parts replaced it still needed more work. I think it sat too long. It had 29k original miles on it. I'll never forget $50 for an alternator though, and this was back in 2019. That is VERY cheap for an alternator. Maybe someday I'll own another classic Lincoln. I had a dream that seemed very real, as if I was stuck in the early 1970s period. I heard, felt, smelled, and seen everything in that time frame but the location seemed unfamiliar to me. I do know I was driving an early 1970s Lincoln Continental sedan in that dream. This is alien to me because I was born in the late 1990s. That was so cool and hope to have another dream like that again.

    I wanted to make mention on the hidden lights. I often hear people mistakenly refer to the systems as “Pneumatic” this is incorrect as pneumatic mean under air pressure (sometimes hydraulic using a fluid typically oil). To the contrary these work on absence of air or vacuum. When turned on the vacuum from the closed door circuit is released from the system and air rushed into the system as vac bleeds off and that’s the hiss sound we hear. Often people confuse it to air itself being used to operate the system,it’s not. To my knowledge no car ever made uses actually pressurized air. Only vacuum , electric, or manual operated. Think Opel GT, 1930sCord etc.

    By Silicone, does Jacob mean WD-40 to be sprayed on the Vacuum Canisters?
    & are there any solutions to failing digital instrument-clusters? Surely someone might be able to restore them, thanks!

    • @jakereal3604
      @jakereal3604 Před 10 měsíci +4

      NO!!!! He means silicone. You can buy 100% silicone spray. Another tech tip I can tell you esp if you live in an area that gets below freezing us to spray all your door seals with silicone n spray. Do this late Fall before the snow comes then 1-2 more during the winter on nice days. This will keep your doors from freezing shut if you have rain and temp goes below freezing Or if snow is on the car and it melts it the day and temp later drops to freezing. Your doors will open no problem!!!

    • @tonyscarcare5657
      @tonyscarcare5657  Před 10 měsíci +2

      No, not WD-40. An actual silicone spray to be spayed into the headlight vacuum storage tank. Then, when the headlights are turned on, it pulls the silicone throughout the whole system. As far as the electronic instrument panel, I don't know anyone who works on them. I've never had an issue to be repaired.
