We're tearing into a brand new build this week! And before you ask, YES! We are still plugging away at the twin turbo Chevelle. We should have an update on that soon, along with more progress on the supercharged LT4 K10!
But until then, we're starting on this bagged 1965 Lincoln Continental build! While the Continental have been iconic cars since they've rolled off the factory floor, we want to do something to make this classic car something truly wicked! So we're yanking out that crusty stock block that's been powering this Lincoln and putting in a 7.3L Ford Godzilla motor! These motors make some good power stock, but of course we're going to be stuffing some performance parts in it a bit further down the road.
We're also upgrading the suspension on this Continental with a full RideTech system, to put this frame on some better suspension, and upgrading the air management system with some Airlift Performance parts!
There are some big changes coming for the interior of this big body classic as well! But we'll get into that more later. For now, we gotta start yanking out all the old moldy parts to start building this beast up!

It is absolutely disgusting how excited I am for this project.
It's just awful how sick this thing is going to be! lol
🤔
You're not gonna make a mess in your pants, are ya ?
Disgusting huh 🤔? Interesting!
As long as you’re not, like, soiling your underwear it should be ok.
I just love those stock seats and interior
It's not that important but the car was not orange. That's the factory primer each car is sprayed before color. Like a red oxide primer. The motor was not a factory 430 (maybe a 390?) Excited to see this come together! We make custom lighting for the exterior if it fits the build let me know! Good luck
Thanks for the info! We always like taking guesses on what's been done to a car before we start tearing into it. We'll definitely keep you in mind for the lighting! Thank you!!
That stock motor is probably a 430 or a Lincoln only 462.
@Classic Stang brn nope because it doesn't have the power steering pump mounted to the front of the crankshaft which is how it came factory. Very difficult to work on but they usually lasted about 20 years or so before it crapped out.
Both my parents worked at Ford. I grew up in those cars. '57, '59, '61,2,3,5,6,7,8, you get the picture. You're right about the primer. They used the 430 until and through '65 then went to the 462. '68 began with 462s and finished with the 460.
A lot of people think the rear doors were called 'suicide doors' but that term originally came from cars with the front doors being hinged at their rear. At the time there was a lot of people being corrected but there is always a lag period while a car goes from just old to old and cool/valuable where so much info disappears. Also, many think the rear doors were hung at the rear for easy access, look sexy, something different, etc. The real reason is that they always knew they wanted to make a convertible edition. That meant those MONSTER doors could not be hung from the front. Imagine no 'B' pillars extending up to the roof to support them. A half-stub B pillar wouldn't do the job so all they had left was to hinge them at the rear. The '65, in my book, had the least attractive grille and most boring dash. You'll have to adapt a power steering pump to that engine that also fulfills the coolest and strongest windshield wipers ever made - they also ran from the same hydraulic pump.
@@crazyoilfieldmechanic3195 , yeah I know about the ps pumps, but I had a 68 Mark lll with a 460 that had a crankshaft driven ps pump.
It already came in looking bad ass, i can only imagine how awesome its going to be when u guys are done with it
It's going to be a whole new car once it leaves!
‘Godzilla engine’ for a Godzilla car. Out of all the classic cars in my opinion, this body style is a monster to work with. So many secret components where rust can hide especially. I’m curious about the sunroof and the build quality?
You guys are geniuses; it’s overwhelming the work that you have ahead and I’m excited about this project.
Excited to see the progress!
Looked like it already had a beast under hood
Very cool project, old school cool with new technology and horse power! Love these vintage Lincolns my family had a ‘65 and a ‘70 both huge behemoth cars that floated down the road!
Thanks, Mike , Andrew and Dave.
And thanks to Jegs!!
They are definitely boats! That's what we love about these old school cars!
Man I love these cars! I look forward to seeing all the top notch mods you guys give this car
We're really excited for this one! Getting to do something different than trucks is a nice change of pace!
There's always something gangsta about a black Conti. I really dig this style a lot. Can't wait for seeing what you guys have in mind for bringing this beauty into the 21st century! 😎😎🤘🤘
We're stoked that you're stoked! We can't wait to plop this motor down into the engine bay!
I love S2S because you guys give us cars like this. So wild!
That's how them fedex trucks be fast with them 7.3 godzilla motors
Great video. Here in Brazil the interior anti rust protection on older cars was that same red we saw in 12:25 ... today there are some wash primers in a kind of yellow though. Keep up guys!
We're beginning to think that's what it is! This car has definitely had some work done to the firewall though!
Honestly the only engine I find fitting to swap. Lincoln’s are always know to have big engine
This is one of the biggest ones we could find!
I love the lighting in the shop
Great workmanship
Thanks so much!
Awesome build. Hope yall are changing the cam and rollers from stock they are notorious for delaminating and messing alota stuff up
The top end is definitely getting overhauled!
Ok, I love the old Continental, but I REALLY wanna see a 7.3 in a new Continental with AWD 🔥
An AWD 7.3 Continental would be sick!
This is one of my dream cars, can't wait to see where this goes
I bought a ‘63 continental after my freshman year at college. It didn’t survive the 500 miles drive home. That was 20 years ago. I’ve wanted another ever since. This is like, almost exactly my dream build continental! Will sub to follow this fs
Brad and his dad are making a widebody Lincoln continental. with with the suicide doors it’s going to be a sick build I like you guys as build also
This build is sick
Thank you!
This is my new favorite from the S2S crew, I picked up 66 convertible 2 weeks ago.
Good Ford engine in Lincoln 😎 no other engines/mark mixed 👍
I’ve always thought these cars are so awesome! I’m looking forward to watching this build ! Much love guys keep up the great content!
Thanks so much for the support!
Beautiful car. Makes me miss my all original '64. It was a two owner Texas car that I sold when I was stationed in Italy. Will definitely be following this build.
There's always one that got away! Welcome to the channel!
Awww yeah! Another sick build! You guys just keep outdoing your selves.
I'm already in mid process of a 7.3 Godzilla and transmission into my 66 lincoln continental.
Waiting on custom suspension from TN. Should be fully built by mid this summer
10 speed transmission.
Challenge excepted! Lol.
Would love to see what you did with the front end to get it to fit. Yesterday was our first to lower the Godzilla into the engine bay and we were like ok this is gonna take some work.
LOTS of cutting. Firewall had to be customized, Scotts hot rods has been making the front end suspension in TN. The transmission is a beast compare to the old original transmission. Unfortunately, will end up customizing the hood a little to fit it due to the intake or purchase a low profile one. But will be glad to share pictures and video when it's done as well. Got everything under a 2021 ford f350 to go into this.
Bro id love to see longer episodes! 15 minutes just doesn’t do these cars justice. 30 minutes to an 1hr (understandable if thats unrealistic) with all the details and bloopers. Everything yall do is just awesome!
We would love to make longer episodes! We wouldn't mind trying to fit extra details in it, but we try our best to cut out any unnecessary fat from the video so that it still flows well without being boring! Maybe we'll try to put out extra episodes that have all the outtakes and extra footage in them!
@@SalvagetoSavage they flow awesomely!
Oh man, can’t wait to see this build come together. New wire is gonna be fun. Would like to see how you all tackle that
We're going to give you as broken down of a break down as we can with every step!
One of my favorite cars. I'm loving this so much
Glad you enjoy it! We got another episode coming out on it soon!
Love those Lincolns they are bad ass!
They're sick cars, even just stock!
Wow!!! You guys have a lot of work in your hands, but I can’t wait to see the build process and the end result.
Thank you so much!
I'm sold on any Conti content on any channel lol
I used silver paint to paint the underdash of my 1966 Mustang (I think it was called Argent Silver, it was bright). Made working under the dash nice and solved the paint issue. My car was originally Silver Frost and later repainted to Springtime Yellow. I did it in a custom Supra Red paint.
6:41 - I love how jacking the car put it at pretty much the stock ride height.
It makes it a bit of a pain to get it on and off of the lift though!
This Lincoln is wild, perfect motor for a perfect build.
We're so excited to rip this thing, and it doesn't even have a motor yet!
Man, I need that interior for my slab...I'd even pick it up from wherever y'all are.
We'll let you know when the take-off pieces go up for sale!
The need for chop coming out of that exhaust is a MUST
We need the lopiest cam!
That's awesome love them old car's
That car is Gangstar AF
It's going to rip too!
I like the amount of patina on this one. 😄👍🏻
That is absolutely one of my favorite old school sleds. It’s just a simple body line and the suicide doors are awesome. I can’t wait for these upgrades and see it cruising
Thx Joey. She’s gonna be a cruiser for sure! One Bad bitch
Can't wait to see what you have planned for this car! 😁
Wonder if the owner is interested in getting rid of the chrome? Would be cool to see one of these with a more modern styling. Maybe same window trim and drip rail delete you did for the Cutlass.
Love that the jobs just keep rolling in. You guys deserve all the attention you are getting! 👍
Thanks so much for the support! This thing is definitely getting a whole bunch of modern touches, but we're still trying to keep it true to it's classic look as well!
My 2 cents,,, if the chrome is in good condition, leave it be.
If it's nasty, sure, black it out. That car has so much chrome it would be an absolute fortune to have it re-done. You wouldn't just be plating the bad pieces. You would be doing it all just so everything matches. I've done a couple of cars just plating the bad stuff, and it looks horrible.
That being said, it would look really bad ass being blacked out. Or that spray on black chrome finish. They did one on Counting Cars, if I remember correctly.
B pillar delete is a must !!
Right? It's definitely killing the vibe once you open both doors!
That continental is in the realm of my dream car. Such a clean car and the suicide doors make it so much cleaner. Wish they still made cars like that
They are absolute boats though! The only chance of getting a car that big is to get an SUV now!
Get in, Coppertop!
My dream car! Will be awesome to watch this build progress although I'm a little bummed when I heard bucket seats I love classic interior!
We liked the interior too! But there's no way the motor and tranny are fitting in there without cutting into the fire wall, which means we need a center console and bucket seats!
JEGS is one of the companies that earn a spot on my laptop lid. :)
This is one of those cars that needs no body modifications. Very subtle things like lighting, sure. But nothing else. It's perfect the way it is.
I always think of these as a Mafia boss car.
You got that right!
First car I thought of when this engine came out! Hell Ya glad to see it!
We got another episode coming out for this one soon! Getting the engine in here wasn't as easy as we thought it would be!
Really nice Lincoln
Thank you!
This car is just so beautiful
Definitely an amazing base for this project!
Sweet project.. looking forward to bell ringing on notifications 🔔
Said it before, saying it again, editing to engineering… you guys rock!
Thanks so much for all the support! We're so happy you're as excited for this build as we are!
Interesting to see and will follow the build. We're almost finished with an aluminum headed 460/E4OD swap on a 61'. The front frame rails and transmission tunnel are not nearly as big as the rest of the car.
Luckily the owner wants to do bucket seats and a console in the front which should let us build out a decent size tunnel!
If you think that 7.3L Godzilla is a big engine (which it is LOL), wait till you discover that Ford made a 18.0L all alluminium V8 for the early M4 Sherman tanks (Ford GAA). 500hp and 1100ftlb at 2000rpm, but it could reach 5000+RPM with some work.
It's a common engine for tractor pulling in europe and it fits like a glove on 4th Gens like this one
Great! Now we're going to have to track down an 18L! lol
no idea why you don't have more subs. this channel is amazing
We really appreciate all the support! We're stoked you like the project. Share us with some of your friends!
Cool project. I will be watching your channel to keep up with the progress.
Welcome aboard!
Thank you for letting us go on this journey with you. I wonder how much all that wiring weighed once you got it out the vehicle.
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
Control is in your right foot son!
OK, this build will ROCK. S2S is awesome.
We're so stoked for this one!
Dream car dream build love it. Big hello from cape cod Ma 🤙
Definitely a good one to be cruising up the coast in!
should keep the dash original and interior would be bad ass that way
interior definitely has to get cut up to fit in our transmission! But we're going to do justice to this old interior!
Very nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome looking car, can’t wait to see it with that Salvage to Savage twist ;-)
We're pumped for this build!
Brooo this is absolutely SICKKKKK!!!!
We're stoked for this one!
Dax Shepard, need to update the Lincoln
Y'all are killin it
Thank you!!
love
Lincoln
Since i was 12 this has been my dream car. That was 30 years ago and still I'm gonna find one
These cars are iconic! We're just stoked to be working on one!
I love this car I can't wait to see this one done
It's going to be a serious tire shredder!
Bloody hell you could almost fit 2 of those engines in that cavernous engine bay!
Don't tempt us! We might just try! lol
This car gonna be badass when you guys are done with it.. can't wait for the episodes of the car..
We're so glad you're excited for this build!
Looking forward to this 👍 would love to live in the states and work on cars like this 👌 subbed 👌
If you ever make the trip to south Florida, make sure to try and stop on by!
@@SalvagetoSavage thank you 😊
I'm not a Ford fan. But I do appreciate these projects. I'm pumped to see the end result...
We're just fans of everything fast and low!
Because this is my favorite and dream car, you earnt yourself a subscriber, good luck with the build look forward to seeing more of it
Welcome aboard! Thanks for the support. We hope you like this one!
Was pretty awesome to start with, but I'm sure with the S2S magic, it'll be even awesomer!
We're excited for this one!
You boys have got some balls 👌🍻
Thank you!!!
Gotta have a wrap around rear seat 😇🤩🤠!!
Haltech still my fave flag on your walls. I love Scott should get him on your channel sometime. Tho he is on an important island in the middle of the ocean lol
If he ever makes it over then we definitely will!
Building a model of a 65 LC. I will definitely be trying to match what your build looks like - Love it!
There's nothing like a slammed LC! Good luck with the build! Tag us in any posts you make so we can check it out!
@@SalvagetoSavage Will do! Thank you.
The Green Hornets Black Beauty!
Be carful changing the interior.. hard to top what it came with stock.. we get excited to modernize everything but the reason it’s cool and lasted.. is cause it’s cool!! That’s a liquid lunch car from the day! ps: lov that guy Andrew!!
Interior has to be changed up! It's the only way we'll be able to fit the transmission under the floor pan!
It's hard to top a bench seat in some of these cars? Serious? It's cool because of the exterior. I have never heard of people saving a car strictly because of it's interior.
@@tomthumb1498 no disrespect meant TZC if you’ve never enjoyed a long time spent in one of these or a pre-69 caddy you might not understand. EVERYTHING is metal and beautifu. The men who built them used a pencil an paper to design and the craftsmanship went from there. I have installed Dakota Digital dashes only to go back to a fully restored factory because it’s kinda better. The reason these cars have stood up is because of that. Maybe I’m wrong.. just hard to beat a rare classic.
You guys Rock I love this car!!
Thanks so much!
@@SalvagetoSavage any time. Your videos make my day
😬😬 that interior IS pretty clean, especially the seats, and I hear "we're tearing all of that out...." 🤦♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏾♂️🤣 I sure hope it's gonna be an upgrade.....
That’s a beast!
We're so stoked to stuff this 7.3 in there!
if the lincoln paint color names are the same as the ford ones. that reddish color was called Emberglo. My 66 mustang was the same color from factory.
The 65 Lincoln continental is my favorite old boat cruiser classic car, my grandfather has one wasting away a few hundred yards from my house he won’t let me touch and it kills me more and more every day
Sometimes you just gotta make grandpa mad and restore a car! lol
Nice project- I’ll be following this one ! I’ve been working on a 66 sedan for a friend , there definitely one big ass car ! This one is getting a custom interior (but keeping it looking kinda OE), sound system work , trimmed out the trunk w/a big tub w/storage where the spare would have gone , completely re did the power windows ( i have a bank of Watsons Streetworks relays under the rear seat , made new switch panels w/billet halo switches & ground switching the relays - BIG improvement! ) & on and on 😎. Look forward to seeing yours .
They are absolute giants! Hope you like what we're doing to this one!
@@SalvagetoSavage yes they are ! I also have a 66 DeVille convertible that’s getting interior, stereo up grade (i did it 20 years ago , ready for new stuff), Dakota gauge cluster (used a Chevy II , they don’t have one for this) & vintage air system . Those big ass cars take up my shop 👍. Have a good one
Absolutely awesome guys..... but what about the DELOREAN?????
Needed this ty so much ❤💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
no! Thank YOU so much! We really appreciate all the support!
That Slab doe, lets go!
Slabbin it!
Anyone else get a wave of anxiety seeing all those wires? 👀 She's in good hands though.😁
Ohhh yah, it was a nest and most likely a hazard. But Andrew is gonna have that girl all wired up better then ever
dream car vibes .... stock but still a beauty
These cars in any shape or condition are dream material!
Oh heck to the yeah
another good vid. Mikey
Thank you!!
We’ll have to see about the wheels your putting on it, because the one on it now are 🔥
We love the steelies! But our last 3 projects were rocking them. It's time to switch it up!
Another project!!! Come on, I thought you guys were going to retire after that last one 😎🇦🇺👍
We have too many crazy ideas to stop now! lol
I wish the interior could be kept but I understand moving to buckets as bench seat can definitely get a bit scary.
Plus we need to modify the cab to fit our new transmission under!
@Salvage to Savage are you guys gonna change the door panels and dash too? 😬
My dream car😍..thing is sooo cold . ultimate pimp ride
Glad you like it!
