My brown LTD Landau Brougham was a fully loaded 76 4 door 460 4B carb with chrome trim on all the body lines along with fender skirts and everything was going just fine until I trusted the wrong person with the engine. He stripped the threads on the fuel pump by not fully bolting it down and he monkeyed with the carb so that the engine would not idle down. Because he left the fuel pump hanging halfway out, it ruined the engine. I really miss that car. Please take care of this one.
I was cleaning on it today, and it definitely looks better. I still don't think I wanna leave those bars on there, though. Thank you very much for watching and commenting!

Great LTD! White letters on a set of Cooper Cobras with the Crager’s and keep the top the same and the bars!! It’s different but they look great!! Hell,,I’d even leave the pipes too!! Great car,,enjoy it!
Oh, I don't know. I can't live with some of that stuff. This it gonna take some serious thought. If I go white letters, it will probably be BF Goodrich TAs.
Nice addition. Wagon looks great. My friend had a new 74 Wagon. Same Ginger- Barnaby Jones Color. Added Appliance wire wheels with blackwalls. Looked pretty good back then. 8-Track Car!
That 74 is sooo cool if I had any more space I would be trying t buy it from you I really like those big Fords from 64 to 78 , congratulations on a one of a kind find
BTW we love the Chrome dress up on the accelerator and brake pedals. Just a beautiful car and very classy design. We can not wait to see when it is all detailed out. Roseann & Dan
Car is amazing, amazing there’s no rust visible, good thing you’re going to take the interior apart, take the carpet and seats out, blow everything out good, including the HVAC with an air chuck, the car is really amazing, diamond in the rough?
Thanks, Dave! I sure plan on taking it apart (not the headliner!) and cleaning the crap out of it. I get started on the outside today. It's definitely looking better.
Thanks for the update on the station wagon it came out looking great! I bet the underneath of the 74 you just got is just pack with dust! Just know you'll get it cleaned up good as new but it's going to take some time.
Thank you! I think you'd be surprised at what the underneath of the LTD looks like. I was actually shocked at how clean it is. Yes, dust, but so much of the original primer still there.
Great find Tony! I am with you on the black walls. I don’t care for them on any luxo barges. I have installed many many tires on these beautiful cars during the 15 years I worked in a tire shop and to me the narrow whites like you have on the Lincoln are the most tasteful addition for those cars. The heritage of the Cragar wheels would cause me to leave them on. The colour, was to me and still is, perfect for the 74 LTD. Definitely agree on hiding the tail pipes.
Great LTD, 1973 and 1974 were a huge improvement in quality. My parents had a 71 LTD from new, which I inherited in 1974, at 12years old....lol. They then bought a 74 LTD Brougham new. I inherited it in 1979. It was light blue with blue interior and vinyl top. The deluxe wheel covers are the same as you have on the wagon. I loved the 71 LTD styling wise, but the 74's with electronic ignition (on the optional engines) and better rust prevention happened to be better cars. Ours had the 400, interval wipers AM radio, whitewalls, A/C and tinted glass. Later I found the invoice and it listed for 6,600. Which was pretty expensive back then for a Ford. I traded it in 1981 for a 79 Thunderbird. I have regretted it ever since. I liked the T-bird but it just was not as substantial a car as the LTD. IMO the Cragars are great on their own, but the brown is begging for some turbine style's like the wagon has. Agree on the landau bars. IMO they look good on some of the late 60's T-bird's.
@@tonyscarcare5657 I ordered a base 1973 LTD 2-door in the same color brown with a lighter brown vinyl interior and the 429 engine. Great looking car and it ran strong with that engine. I wish I still had it. Thanks for the memory. I look forward to seeing you bring it back to like new.
The wagons paint is looking great, nice work. IMHO, if you are going to keep the cragars on it, go with white letter tires. If you plan is to put the wheel covers from the wagon, go with whitewalls. The coupe is truly a find with all those options and I look forward to watching your transformation on both cars.
Honestly i don't think there is another person who is a passionate about their Lincoln/Mercury/Fords as Tony. I love watching his content because it's that passion that always comes through on these cars and having one in my family decades ago has really make me want to learn more about them. He had me rolling though when he said the car reminded him of "PigPen" from the Peanuts Gang! 🤣🤣🤣
I like the '74 LTD. I'm sure it will look a lot better once you clean it up. I don't like the landau bar either. I would put whitewall tires on steel wheels with the deluxe wheel covers. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.
Hey Tony! Very nice LTD! I commented before on the "short" video that I liked the Landau bars and now that I've seen them up close, I have to agree. They have to go. The Cragar wheels can definitely stay and with a set of white letter BFGs, they'd set that car off nicely! Yep, fix the exhaust. Tuck those pipes underneath. She's a beaut!
Tony, Another great find. I remember those bumper bars ( reinforcements inside the bumper) ,HEAVY. I was on the bumper bar line at Woodhaven Stamping Plant Fo Mo Co at the time. If you would like a tan vinyl top and get rid of the landau bars at the same time, why don't you see if you can find the correct color and grain and have a new tp put on, providing you know a good installer. On the wheels, the wheel covers from the wagon would look good or another set of wire wheel covers would also look great. If you like the Cragars keep them. I probably made too many suggestions, but it is your car why not make it the way you like it ! Also the wagon is looking GREAT. Thanks for the great videos Jim
Thank you, Sir! I love hearing the stories of people working on these cars when they were being built. To be honest, I don't like those deluxe wheel covers at all. I had wire spoke "wheels" on one of my 74s that I need to show in the next video. I'll probably have someone repair and dye the top first, and then if it doesn't work out, replace it. I've been cleaning on it today, and that top looks a lot better.
Superb Video Mr. Tony - one of the best yet with all the detail on the 1974 LTD. That really looks like a diamond found in the rough and once cleaned up it will be beautiful and turn heads. Except for a few minor items the main pieces of the car, paint, interior and engine are in great shape. No pits on the Chrome and no visible rust on panels. Just think if what it would cost to build that car today and my guess is that car would last at least 150,000 miles. We really liked the detail review on the build sheet along with all the detail photo review of the car. I think we will go watch it again now. Roseann and Dan
Thanks, D & R! I've really been cleaning on the outside, and it looks like a different car! I still haven't started on the outside. I got the dealer emblem in the mail today and got it installed.
I am not thrilled with the landau irons either, BUT, they are factory installed and rather rare. Those are aftermarket front floor mats, but I like them too. The outer edges can be trimmed for a better fit. I do not see much that can not be fixed with an industrial strength shop vac and a five pound tub of white lith! Ixnay on the mags and black walls, de luxe covers and white walls. Seems to be a good car, hopefully, and a good buy.
Tony, I think you found the perfect car. 1. If that car had been in the city with no dust, road chemicals would have eaten the quarter panels out. 2. Dust washes off, rust does not. 3. The price was right. You know if you found it clean and rust free it would've been 3x the price. 4. It's loaded for a 74 and what it doesn't have, you can add on, with your expertise. 5. The vinyl top is pronounced " Oh den sa" not o-dense. It's the heavy grain texture, instead of slick vinyl. My Dad bought a 73 LTD with an "Oh den sa" vinyl top and after a "what the hell does that mean", my Mom called the Ford dealer, for an explanation. 6. Don't play around taking that Landau bar off, then trying to patch in the vinyl. Replace the whole vinyl top with a new one and throw that ugly hearse symbol away. The 74 will be your best yet !!
All very good comments, Sir! I definitely want a tan top! Thanks for clarifying the way it's pronounced. I've always loved the 74 LTD in this color. I never dreamed I'd find one this loaded.
Hi Tony. I stopped to meet you and see the wagon, only to find out what trouble had developed on the way up. I felt so bad for you after all the work you put into getting the car ready. Beautiful car! The interior looks just fantastic. Met your Mom and Dad, such nice parents. Dad filled me in on some of your upgrades you had made to some of his cars growing up. I was really impressed with the number of really nice cars there. Just maybe next year I may bring one of mine down to the show. Hope you have safe travels home. Great video!
Thank you very much. They told me that I missed so many nice people yesterday. Saturday was definitely ruined for me. I think the truck will be ok, fingers crossed! I don't really believe bringing a car 500 miles is worth all all of the extra stress and trouble. Thank you for the compliments!
I once put a set of Cragars with Goodyear lettered tires on a 78 Riviera LXXV I had (about thirty years ago now -sheesh🙂) and they looked awesome. On that car. So I can see these period correct ones you have growing on you -but yes, I would definitely go with lettered tires, I think the white walls would just look tacky, unlike the wagon with the correct wire caps once you put them on -those will be cool. Like the way the paint has shined up on the wagon too BTW. Your right -the landau Thunderbird wannabe bars definitely gotta go, those new stock emblems and hood ornament will look just right. The dually exhaust tips actually look fine I think -those are always subjective but, if nothing else - having them extended out behind the bumper does help with preventing condensation rust you always see developing along the bottom on those period Ford chrome bumpers. Awesome barn find though!!!
Thank you very much! Inwas cleaning on the outside of the car today, and it's already starting to look like a different car. Everything should turn out just fine.
The Landau pkg is like a pre-Brougham group, mainly the trunk Linners and the cloth pattern in the seats are Brougham sourced but in LTD trim. Very well optioned with power windows. There was also a one year only Luxury group option for the Brougham with Its own interior design, thick cut pile carpet and velour seats, I'm in LA and only seen 3 ever. Barnaby Jones season 3 74 LTD was a fully loaded Brougham with a black top and a sunroof, probably 4J68A in the VIN.
There was one of those one year Landau cars here in town years ago. It was the only one I've ever seen in person or, well, anywhere other than the one in the brochure. It was all white outside and blue inside. They were only offered with three interior colors. That car was for sale, and I wish so bad that I could have bought it and saved it. I don't know that I'd call it pre-Brougham since they were offering a Brougham LTD since at least 1968.
Hey Tony… you could always swap out the tires of the wagon to the 2-dr…then get the wide band wsw for the wagon… just a thought to accelerate that look with the new wire wheel covers 😎😁
Barnaby Jones’ ride LOL. Even before you showed that the car came with the deluxe wheel covers from the factory and said you could take them off your wagon that is what I was thinking you should do. Then you have factory correct wheels and you aren’t out any money assuming you have steel wheels to mount them to. When I first saw those landau bars I hated them too and thought they were such a tacky add-on. When you explained they were actually a factory installed option they kind of grew on me. I will admit they are quite ugly, but as a rare factory option and a glimpse into the fads of the early 70’s kitsch they are kind of cool. I would leave them rather than damage the vinyl by removing them, unless you are going to re-do the top I think the damage left behind would detract just as much or more from the car than the bars do. I say leave it original but if you just can’t stand them it’s your car. Do you know if that was the same part used on the Thunderbird sedan?
Thank you! Those bars are definitely a 1974 full-size Ford part number, and there are two different numbers for the 4 doors and two doors. I'm really not a fan of the deluxe wheel covers. Thank you very much for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
You’ve got your work cut out on cleaning it up, but what an amazing car! I love the brown with brown top, I don’t disagree with you on the landau ornamentation on the roof. lol looks like a hearse, but it’s so unique and part of the original story, I’d probably keep it. Really cool to have power windows and seat! At least it fires right up and runs good!! The wheels though! lol no, but at the time was cool!
‘74 is my favorite between the ‘73 and ‘74. I like the grill much more. I agree, not a fan of the landau bar whatsoever. Kind of hideous. I’m also not a fan of the cragers and definitely not a fan of the black walls. I’d go back to original whitewalls and maybe put the deluxe wheel covers from the wagon to the ‘74…..I know, you probably don’t like,e that idea but it needs to go back to original. Being a car collector and restoration guy for the past 50+ years, I can tell the paint will come out fine with the proper levels of correction and the interior will probably clean up just fine. Too bad it doesn’t have the big twin comfort lounge seats and brougham interior. I think those twin comfort lounge seats were available in ‘74 if I recall correctly. Nice find! Looking forward to watching the transformation of the wagon and LTD.
Thanks, man! I've always thought the 74 grill treatment was much better than the 74, too. I am really not a fan of those deluxe wheel covers. As I said. The wheels and tires are the least of my concern at the moment. I did some polishing on the car today, and it looks so much better. I do wish it had the twin comfort lounge seats, but they weren't available in the base model, I don't believe, and definitely not with this special material.
You have all the right to repeat yourself a bit, after all it's your car now and the previous onwners were quite lousy just for a few bucks. Salute from Brazil and keep the good work!
Look under the bottom back seat cushion and see if the build sheet for the car is still there. If it's not on the bottom cushion, check the top back cushion.
All the car companies ripped people off back in those days they nickled & dimed you to death on individual options that should have been standard affair on this class of automobile
I think leaving the tires and caps on the wagon is the best way to go. As for the 2 door white letter tires is what would look best. Don't trash the landau bars if I ever get a LTD 4 door I'll buy them. 😂
Wait until you see under the hood of the '77 wagon I bought out of a junkyard. You may reconsider your filthy statement. BTW.... the landau bars work well with the cragars and brown color. I agree, they aren't my thing, but they work on this car.
Congradulations on your cars I feel the same way you do about those hideous creepy Landau bars when you get this coupe done you can zip around & pretend to be Barnaby Jones the private investigator
Hello Tony! Just love the 74 LTD! I have a 1973 LTD, my favorite years are the 73 & 74. Please share pictures or a video when you have it all cleaned up. You mentioned that you have some NOS parts for the 74, I m always looking for parts for my 73 so if you're in the market to sell or trade I would be mor than open to that. All the best
Thank you! There will definitely be more videos, and I will likely be looking for something. I pretty much have the outside polished up but haven't started on the inside yet. What are your thoughts on removing the Landau bars and dying the top tan? I think I really wanna do that.
My grandparents bought a 74 Mercury Monterey brand new and it lived on the gravels roads and my dad said it was the absolute worst car for dust. He said they could hardly keep the dust out of it even when it was brand new. It didn’t stop them from driving it though. I was always told it had some sort of flow through ventilation but I’m no expert on these cars, so take that with a grain of salt. I’m from that area and we’ve been pretty dry in the past years and those are newer NE plates and Nebraska has started using crushed concrete for a gravel substitute. It just destroys the paint.
Wow! I was just cleaning on it today. I simply scrubbed the crap out of that top over and over with a brush and I told a couple of my friends that it looks like the white rock dust has turned to concrete in the grain on the top!
@@tonyscarcare5657 Those plates ran from 2017 to 2023 and they really started to put that crushed concrete down in that time period. 5 county is pretty flat and low lying and when the floods came through in 2019, they put that crushed concrete down on every gravel road it seemed. Rebar chunks and anything else was all over the roads. We actually popped a tire from a 1 ft section of a metal fence post that was in that rock. It stuck in the tire and poked a hole in the wheel well. If it’s got white dust, I bet it’s crushed concrete dust. Thankfully they’ve pulled way back on using it.
I’ve seen cragar s/s with narrow stripe whitewalls before. This car screams at me late 90s early 2000s neighborhood fodder. Back when everyone thought anything V8 rwd was a dollar general muscle car. Times have changed. That’s an interesting find. I don’t mind that bar, it’s unique to the brand and era I can definitely say GM did NOT use them, not positive about Chrysler. Ford bolted on their trim you may be into a new vinyl top at which you might as well go with your selected color. Nice find. That’s dusty like a road work construction vehicle. I remember my first company truck was so dusty it took me an entire season to get it clean as a used car.
Thanks, man! I really spent a lot of time cleaning on the outside today, and it looks a lot better. I don't know, but that bar could grow on me. I did have a shop tell me today that they can definitely fill the holes and dye the top tan for me. I normally start cleaning on the inside of a vehicle first, but wow! Plus, I wanted to see if those scratches would buff out, and most of them are.
I hate those landau bars too....I always thought they were some kind of aftermarket add on that the dealers slapped on ...never dreamed they were a part of a factory option group.
I thought the same thing and only learned this a few months ago. I never dreamed if I actually found a car I wanted it would have those awful things. The rest of the package was great, cornering lamps and all.
Hi great LTD and Country Squire is beautiful. You have the wire covers for the wagon so why not put the tires from the Lincoln and the covers from the CountreSquire on ? I'm also a purist with my cars pinto Mustang Thunderbirds and Lincoln MKIVS I really enjoy the way you present your videos keep them coming, THANK YOU. LOYAL OVAL LOVER
Thank you very much! I honestly do not like those deluxe wheel covers at all. I do not hate the Cragars but would like something different. At least white walls or letters, but the wheels are really the least of my concerns right now. There's so much more to fix and clean for the time being.
So you love the landau bars. Lol. I agree that they are horrid. I've had so many Thunderbirds with those damn things. What you have there is a baby Thunderbird because you have so many options. As far as the dust goes, I lived in rural Missouri for nearly 25 years where gravel roads are the norm. One advantage is you can't spread salt on gravel so that helped keep it preserved from rust. Look forward to seeing the progress. The mice damage isn't bad.
Yeah, the fact that it doesn't have any rust was why I felt that I had to jump on it. Most of these were ate up before 1980 around here. I think it's such a cool car. It's the third one I've had in this color.
So, you don’t like the landau bars? I don’t recall ever seeing an LTD with those. I noticed the window sticker spelled “Westminster” as “Westminister”. Nice car!
OK, learning so much about Fords. Did ford still make the lower galaxy 500 models in 74? If so, did they make them in this two door style? No one would argue that those Landau bars are hideous. This beautiful car is the perfect project for you, I know how satisfying pulling it all apart and cleaning that dust out will be. I guess my only concern is how much of that horrible dust made it inside the engine /tranny.
Yes, 74 was the last year for the Galaxie and were available in 2 and 4 door. A lot of people like those Landau bars! I don't get it. There's no dirt in the engine or transmission. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@tonyscarcare5657 OK, so were the grilles different on the galaxy vs LTD? I used to judge the years of these cars by the grilles, but I can see I was wrong... So glad the engine/tranny were not hurt by all that damn dust...What a shame that would have been. But, on a car this nice, it would have been worth having the engine/tranny rebuilt if in fact they were damaged..
I disagree with you. I love the Landau Bars. It sets the car apart from the run of the mill Ford. I owned a '63 Thunderbird Landau, it was my all time favorite car. The Landau T-Birds were significantly upgraded from the standard models.
Hi Tony, my name is Claes and I have been writing to you four some time so it is ok to let you know that. And as usual I like your videos. But now over to us in Europe. You would bee surprised to hear what foolish things that the European Commission wish to do to us car owners that hav a car which is less than 30 years old, they want us to skrap our cars, it do not mater if they are ok or not. But a car that is mor than 30 years we can keep them. This is what they want to do but it is not a law yet. My BMW is from the year 2000 so I am a little worried now, I am not collector so I only have one car, and I am not going to get an electric car because I am a petrol head. So we sure do hope they do not get away with that. You sure are lucky to be living in the US where they do not do this stupid things.👍
I'm sorry to hear that. I know you always comment on my videos, and I appreciate it very much. Yes, I feel very fortunate to live in America, especially after listening to all of my friends in other countries.
I think it would definitely look a lot better with white wall tires? I always hate that nowadays it's so hard to find a white wall tire I know the only ones that still make them as hankook Toyo used to but I don't know if they're even making tires anymore? I had a hard time finding new tires for my Lincoln Town car I had a 93 town car and I wanted White Walls and the only ones that sold them were hankook and Toyo and I ended up buying some toyos back then several years ago? They just don't make white walls hardly anymore and which is bad but that car definitely needs White Walls of 74 black walls on these big cars look terrible I hate it and don't put lettering I hate that style too on a luxury car it's not a sports car!!!!
Very good question! I was shocked to see that it had electronic ignition because I thought it came out in 75. I need to mention that in the next video. Thank you!
Barnaby Jones...a Quinn-Martin production!
I hear that a lot. 🤣

I really like your new brown Ford. I bet it will be beautiful when you are finished with it. Those were the days!
Thank you very much! I was really cleaning on it today. It looks so much better!
BTW we love the Chrome dress up on the accelerator and brake pedals. Just a beautiful car and very classy design. We can not wait to see when it is all detailed out. Roseann & Dan
I like those, too. I know Ford had that pedal design at least 68-74.
Beautiful cars and great projects! I always liked these models.
Thank you! The 74 has always been one of my favorites. Especially in this color.
That was a nice buy Tony! You did a awesome job of rubbing out the wagon!! 🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Thank you very much! I've already been rubbing on the LTD now.
Awesome buy. Love that color
Thank you! That has always been my favorite color on a 74 LTD.
Thank you so much! You are the first one to agree with what I'm thinking!
Thank you! I have a lot of decisions to make here.
I would love to own a '74 Ltd. What a great car. Cant wait to see it all cleaned up
Thank you! It's coming along.
The wagon is looking great Tony! I'd ditch the Cragars and put 1970's Appliance mesh mags with white walls on it, nice find.
Thank you very much! The wheels and tires may very well be the last thing I address.
The wagons paint is looking great, nice work. IMHO, if you are going to keep the cragars on it, go with white letter tires. If you plan is to put the wheel covers from the wagon, go with whitewalls. The coupe is truly a find with all those options and I look forward to watching your transformation on both cars.
Thanks, buddy! I think it really needs shocks and coils before I make any wheel and tire decisions.
Thank you! 😂
I like the '74 LTD. I'm sure it will look a lot better once you clean it up. I don't like the landau bar either. I would put whitewall tires on steel wheels with the deluxe wheel covers. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.
Thank you! I was cleaning on it today, and it looks a lot better. I have to be honest, though, I am not a fan of those deluxe wheel covers.
Thank you! Finally, someone who feels the same way I do.
Thanks for the great videos
Jim
I was cleaning on it today, and it's definitely looking better. However, I just do not like those deluxe wheel covers.
Yeah, they really don't look all that deluxe. Maybe some dealer installed upgraded ones. @@tonyscarcare5657
Well done Tony. Two new toys to play with! 😀
Thanks, Mark! They are two of my favorites. I have to find more room.
@@tonyscarcare5657 Yes. I know the problem storage wise. I still need to look at that checker board box for you too. 👍
Please do!
I love the Cragar's 👍
🤣 I know you do!
Congratulations upon the LTD 2 door ! I want a 1973-74 too. I have a 1971 LTD 2 door.
Thank you!
Barnaby Jones season 3 74 LTD was a fully
loaded Brougham with a black top and a sunroof, probably 4J68A in the VIN.
Decisions, Decisions! Lol.
That car is filthy!
I told you!
Great score with that non-rusty, filthy LTD! She should clean up very well.
The outside is looking great. I haven't had time to get started on the inside yet. Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated!
Yeah, I have so many decisions to make. The outside is cleaning up really well.
I do wish it had the twin comfort lounge seats, but they weren't available in the base model, I don't believe, and definitely not with this special material.
looking good
Thanks, Jeff!
New subscriber. Adam sent me. Looking forward to the channel!
Thank you very much for coming over! I'm hoping to have some how-to videos coming up.
You have all the right to repeat yourself a bit, after all it's your car now and the previous onwners were quite lousy just for a few bucks. Salute from Brazil and keep the good work!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate you!
Look under the bottom back seat cushion and see if the build sheet for the car is still there. If it's not on the bottom cushion, check the top back cushion.
I will. Both sections of the rear seat have to come out to repair the quarter windows.
White letter tires would look good on those rims
That is the way I'm leaning, too.
All the car companies ripped people off back in those days they nickled & dimed you to death on individual options that should have been standard affair on this class of automobile
Yep! I sure wish they'd put rear window defrost on it. Not that stupid dealer add on defogger.
I think the craigers would look just fine with a narrow whitewall
I think so, too! Or white letters.
I think leaving the tires and caps on the wagon is the best way to go. As for the 2 door white letter tires is what would look best. Don't trash the landau bars if I ever get a LTD 4 door I'll buy them. 😂
I have NOS wire wheel covers for the wagon. I definitely won't throw the bars away. I know someone who has NOS one in Norway if you want some.
If the landau bars are stock, keep them -- especially if the top is good. I'd prefer stock wheels and WWs, but if you keep the Cragars, get WLs.
Decisions, Decisions!
@@tonyscarcare5657 Love the car though!
Thank you! I'm digging it.
Wait until you see under the hood of the '77 wagon I bought out of a junkyard. You may reconsider your filthy statement. BTW.... the landau bars work well with the cragars and brown color. I agree, they aren't my thing, but they work on this car.
They aren't as bad as they were when I first saw them. I still don't know if I wanna keep them, though.
Congradulations on your cars I feel the same way you do about those hideous creepy Landau bars when you get this coupe done you can zip around & pretend to be Barnaby Jones the private investigator
Lol. I've seen a lot of Barnaby Jones references here. 🤣
Clean it up and leave it alone. Really nice car
😳
People here in Illinois complain about taxes. I tell them, "At least our county roads aren't rock."
I'm also a purist with my cars pinto Mustang Thunderbirds and Lincoln MKIVS
I really enjoy the way you present your videos keep them coming, THANK YOU.
LOYAL OVAL LOVER
Thank you very much! I honestly do not like those deluxe wheel covers at all. I do not hate the Cragars but would like something different. At least white walls or letters, but the wheels are really the least of my concerns right now. There's so much more to fix and clean for the time being.
Hi Tony, I recall seeing the odd one of these back in the day. Didn't like the landau bars then either. Belonged on the '72 'Birds!
Forgot to add: that's going to be a beauty when it's done/
Thank you!
These are actually even 1974 LTD part numbers. One for 2 doors and one for 4 doors.
My Dad's 1974 LTD Brougham had power windows it was a 4 door
I've seen several Broughams with power windows, but I've sure seen a lot of stripped-down ones.
Tony I just can't envision a scenario were those landau bars come off and you're happy with the resulting telltales..
Hope I'm wrong.
Stay tuned! 🤣
York air conditioning compressors are aluminum; Tecumseh compressors are cast iron.
👍
But how do you REALLY feel about those Landau Bars? ;) I had them on my 68 T-Bird back in the day, and wasn't a fan either...
🤣😂🤣😂 yeah, that was not a good idea at all! The car was too good to pass up, though. We'll see how it all turns out.
So, you don’t like the landau bars?
I don’t recall ever seeing an LTD with those.
I noticed the window sticker spelled “Westminster” as “Westminister”.
Nice car!
No, Sir! I think they look terrible.
Why do I have a sudden urge to watch Uncle Buck?
This should make you wanna watch Barnaby Jones. Uncle Buck had a Mercury.
@@tonyscarcare5657I think the whole Barnaby Jones series has been posted on CZcams.
I sure looks like it.
Get rid of the Cragars. Put the nice discs on the wagon on the 74.
I'm sorry. I think it makes it look like a hearse. I prefer the regular LTD emblem.
I don't see how you could say that car looks like a hearse. @@tonyscarcare5657
I'll probably try the tires off of the Lincoln in the video.
