It’s not deep carry enough because they refuse to stop using their proprietary charger. Use USB-C in the rear like the wedge and a similar pocket clip. That would be a excellent light
magnetic charging is better than any plugged in type. their batteries can infact be swapped out for other batteries.
I agree I'm not a fan of proprietary crap, stick with the industry standard!
just stumbled on you channel tonight, really liked this video. i've been thinking of getting the arkfeld but after seeing this review i will probably wait. after watching your 30 some penlight video i liked that streamlight wedge, simple on/off, no beam adjustments, nice work flashlight (i'm a forklift mechanic) i think i will order that streamlight. i have been here 45 years and have hundreds of flashlights over those years but i dont think i have ever had that many at once as was in that cabinet. that is quite a collection, i'm pretty impressed. maybe a quick video on each one, there were quite a few in that case i have been looking at myself but just havent pulled the trigger on yet. looking forward to more videos

If that selector ring would just turn further to the right in a few increments it would solve your problem. Then all you would have to do is press the power button. That might just be my love for rotary lights talking though. Are you ever going to give us a full tour of you flashlight cabinet?
It sucks when they miss one thing. I still carry the warrior mini. They screwed up the mini 2 because the magnet won't hold the 2 sideways because of the proximity sensor in the head. I've been casually looking for my mini's replacement, and I guess it will have to be a d4. I have a d4s and love it. I had looked at the arkfield and the wedge because a lot of people love the wedge. you have a nice collection. It's nice to hear from someone with time using it to get the quirks that you don't know are gonna be a problem.
Yeah. The arkfeld would be a perfect light of not for that one thing. And no one else has mentioned it in any review! I feel likes it's such a big deal too.

I would think the magnetic base would be enough of a plus to outweigh the memory. Especially working on cars. Also it has strobe mode with 3 quick presses. It only took me a 3 days to be 100% proficient with the switch.

I don’t normally comment, but I really appreciate your honest and thorough review. You just saved me from wasting my money on one of these. No other reviewers mentioned the no memory issue.

Yeah you're welcome! I'm not sure. But I will buy one soon to check it out. Yeah the memory works for only 2 minutes or so. And then it reverts back to low mode. It ruins the light.
So the perfect technician flashlight imo is the streamlight wedge and the wedge XT. And the coast slayer. These 3 lights are all perfect for an efficient technician. Nothing else is even close.

Olight is releasing the Arkfeld with a UV light and no laser. You can pick that one up…unless UV lights are also illegal in Australia.

It really is the perfect EDC. But I'm just always on the hunt for something that's better. I don't want to retire it. I want to find something as good or better

the arkfeld is better since its got a magnetic tail, cant do that with the wedge.
