      Quick question. I was looking to purchase a automatic watch for the first time and I was curious If the rotor winds the watch too much, lets say for instance if I wear it out for a run, could it damage the watch? Would it then be recommended to leave it off the wrist if we are very active?

    • @vintageradar

  • @carywatmore

    Both automatic and manually-wound watches are mechanical. All the rotor does is wind a mechanical watch without the wearer having to wind it - if it’s used almost daily - depending on the power reserve.

    if you move your wrist, the rotor will move in random direction right ? to wind it, should it be moved in specific direction ?

    • @vintageradar
      @vintageradar  Před rokem +11

      When you move your wirst the rotor will move freely and wind the watch. When you wind it manually, the rotor does not have to move. On some movements the rotor also rotates when you wind the watch.
