    Inhale right exhale left, this the correct way. Doing it from the right nostril only will make the pingla naadi dominant which also might have some improvement in digestive fire as it is associated with Sun but for the best result inhale right exhale left. Also sitting cross legged is just fine but it's better to sit in vajra asana during the pranayama. Sitting anytime in Vajra Asana for atleast 10 mins-atleast!- whether before or after meal, morning or evening or night, full stomach or empty stomach will definitely increase your hunger in 2-3 minutes after standing from the asana.

      @@saurabhkesharwani6143 why would you want strong digestion in the morning/before sleeping? exhaling through the left balances the nadis to get a slightly dominant right side when digesting. it might naturally be so already so check your nostrils. to me this is a technique not necessary for every time I eat because I'm eating fruit

      ​@@annapurnashenoy3782 am a naturopath. Procedure is wrong. What she said is surya anuloma viloma pranayama - inhalation and exhalation through the same nostril.
      Surya bhedhana is inhale through right and exhale through left...

    I really like all these concepts of yoga and ayurveda. so i would like you people to conduct large randomised controlled trials of large sample groups against a placebo and publish those results which will attract more people towards this

    I think it's the technique of surya anulom vilom pranayama.. Because bhedana means to Pierce that means you need to inhale through right nostril and exhale through the left..
    If somebody takes the challenge please follow the correct procedure.

    It should've been mentioned that it should not be practiced if someone had high bp, as this practice increases blood pressure.

    Surya bedhana is inhale right n exhale left .. surya naadi anulom n vilom only through right nostril ..
    please note more of right nostril breath In n Out NOT good for HIgh BP… Please watch your BP .. we should always mention limitations …

    I can't focus on Sury-whatever-yam because my anxiety is triggered by the closeness of her hair to the plate. I am so obsessed to not accidentally get food in my hair and dirty it, that I enter in the same "anxiety mode" when I see someone someone like that.
    Apart of that, her hair is beautiful.

      It is done before meals you can do 10 -15 times and then start your meal

    Past 7 years suffering from GERD ...tierd of taking medicines...tried evrythng homeo,allop,ayur...again and again.
    I will try this too...if got some relief from bloating ...it means a lotttt😔

      That's true... breathing exercises do increase BP nd this leads to hypertension in my mother.... Since then she never let me do any breathing exercise neither she does herself.

    Now for people who are mostly confused or want to know why right side... if i am not wrong it is related to pingala nadi which is also known as surya nadi. Activating pingala nadi or surya nadi helps with digestion. Am i right?
