Over the years many of you suggested to us to film with the one and only Moustache Jim!! Well, you know we finally made it to Minnesota and were so happy for the opportunity to meet Jim! 🙌🏼
Earlier this year, Moustache Jim Studios partnered with Top Chop Barber to open a barbershop. It was an honor for me to be Jim’s first hot towel shave customer during the soft opening 💈❤️
Set in a building from 1913 and located close to downtown Minneapolis. The high ceilings, old wood floors, and Jim’s style reminded us of the 1920s. Since he recently opened, Jim is letting the space grow organically over time.
Adorning the wall, you’ll also see some of Jim’s work. Jim is an incredible photographer! He does old school plate photography. You can see more of his work here👇🏼

I love the attention to detail. Touches of Eucalyptus, lavender, Bay rum, fresh Aloe Vera. Everything is so organized and has its place. His hand movements are almost surgical he is so precise. Its like watching a painter create a work of art!

The simplicity of his studio is very relaxing and elegant. Often times, less is more.
The pre and post shaves are one of my favorites parts because it’s where the barber can really have his own style. And WOW this guy’s was maybe one of the most unique you’ve had on your channel. I could not believe it when he started cutting up the aloe. He was very confident and had a calming presence. Truly one of the best you’ve visited.

I saw "Moustache Jim" on the title, did a double-take, picked my jaw off the floor, and immediately hit the like button. I never do that before a video, but this is the team-up I've been waiting to see for years. Jim's "fluttering shears" video is among my favorites.
Moustache Jim was the first shave artist that I ever saw on youtube. I've been watching them ever since.

That's insane! I remember a video many years ago of Jim doing a haircut. His technique was called 'fluttering shears'. I loved it. Please tell me that he is going to cut your hair!
It wasn't really a technique it was fluttering shears sound

One of my major "go to" spots for relaxation are Jim's shave videos from a few years ago. Very fine job, sir.
I notice that this guy is using a crock pot as a towel warmer. I would have never thought of that. I guess I don't need to buy a towel warmer then. :)
True! I do have to put it on a timer outlet, because it gets really hot. I’ve had to adjust the timer a couple times and I put a UV sterilizing bulb in the cabinet that shines through the glass top. It’s connected on the same timer switch, so I know when the crock pot is on. I’m sure there are more elegant/efficient methods, but I’ll try this for a bit and I’ll also try to get a pair of tongs that I can set in a jar of Barbicide (blue liquid in in jars ).which I always use to jokingly refer to as a pesticide specifically to be rid of pesky barbers.

That's the way barbers dressed when I was a kid back in the 1960's. Although, some barbers kept their dusting brush--handle first-- in their back pants pocket. Love it.

I've always loved the first video you did with Jim. It's a great surprise to see him back again and I loved the video!
I stopped the video at six minutes and came back to see the simplicity and professionalism of Jack The Clipper. Using three towels for ten seconds, just for the CZcams video.
I really just watch these videos to see all the different ways people fold hand towels.
I saw his CZcams videos a few years ago and really liked them. Very thorough and just a great personality. Glad to see that he’s still plying his craft.
The Eastlake dresser, the chinoiserie touches, his personal grooming, feels like we just went to the 1890s. Very deft hands and some unique touches.
