In 2022, Moustache Jim Studios partnered with Top Chop Barber to open a barbershop.
Set in a building from 1913 and located close to downtown Minneapolis. The high ceilings, old wood floors, and Jim’s style reminded us of the 1920s. Since he opened the shop last year, Jim has been letting the space grow organically over time.
Adorning the walls, you’ll also see some of Jim’s work. Jim is an amazing photographer! He does old school plate photography. You can see more of his work here👇🏼

Absolutely love moustache Jim. He’s so chaotic but relaxing at the same time. He seems like he’s right out of a Tim Burton movie. He’s got pulley systems all around his space, lightbulbs flying down from the ceiling to get a better look, and countless drawers that you’ll never know what will be found within.

Cordless clippers would change his life. I wonder if he is aware they exist or whether he just likes the aggravation of old school clippers? The lighting is another topic, where do you start? Love the guy anyway and have done for years.
@@Simon-fr4ts I think he knows about it. But judging from the general vibe of his shop (or should I say, studio), he prefers to keep it like that, just like how the barber used to be back in the days.
This could be a book. I would read a story if it had that description on the cover!

Typically you don't want talking in these types of videos but with Jim I always want more. I love his comments and personality. He's got a great voice. I wouldn't mind a video where he just describes what he's doing the entire time.

He reminds me of the barber I went to from my first haircut through to adulthood (Adam's Barber Shop in Riverside, California). My dad and grandfather also went to him. He gave a full scissor cut - never used clippers. I remember the scissors fluttering in my ear as he'd taper my hair.
This is a talented and rare barber.
I went on a binge and watched a lot of these videos and this barber was the best I saw out of all of those vids

Man, I remember when I first saw Moustache Jim and his flying shears on CZcams many, many years ago and the ASMR came on stroooong. Good to see he’s still at it, still as charming as ever!
This guy's an artisan. I mean, that haircut is clean and slick.
I could see Jim set in the old west giving haircuts and shaves. He has that old timey western vibe.
You can tell by his hand movements this guy is a pro. He is observant of every stroke and very precise. A true artist!
When I was a kid growing up my grandfather took me to a barber like this. It was always a great experience. This brings back great memories.
WELL DAMN! This guy has some crazy skills. Measured but delicate and not a lot of electric gear. I think, personally, one of your best hair cuts. Loved the old time European vibe to the shop. And that raising and lowering the light bulb.. well that was magic. Didn't see this one coming. Good show.
I enjoy watching Mustache Jim do his thing either using shears and a comb or giving a straight razor shave. And then of course you Harry are an excellent person and patron. I love his scissor action, reminds me a little of Edward Scissorhands with his eccentric arm flailing and hummngbird-like scissor clipping that never seems to be still. I love this guy!
