- The E39 M5 holds a special place in our heart here at Evolve, being a car we owned and developed many parts for. The pinnacle of our offerings was the supercharger kit that we developed.
In this video we run through installing the Evolve Supercharger Kit to a customers E39 M5. As we mention in the video we now own the development car used for this kit and in future we will take a deeper look into that car and the products we developed for the legendary E39 M5.

Sure 800 HP hyper cars are fun out of the box, but there is nothing more satisfying than tuning a beautiful car like this M5 and then testing it out on the roads!

Removing the belly pan on these cars is surprisingly violent, so it's probably fine 😅
The amount of hours alone spent researching , Building ,tweaking parts to get a finished product like this must have been soul destroying but worth it
A huge amount of R&D goes in to making something like this.
I love the fact you guys keep working on older cars, especially for customers who have been with you for a long time! So cool to see the e39 getting the attention to detail the f90 is subjected to! 👌👌
an E39 540i was the first bmw i ever drove and the first v8, Great cars!
Is it reliable ??
@@Yasser-iq7tz I got rid of it when I cracked the differential case going 80mph over a speed bump, but it seemed pretty reliable until then

The e39 540i has terrible reliability. The motor is a nightmare.
The engineering & build quality of that kit looks top notch, love the thinking behind that bracket assembly 👌

Looks soo leggit what they are doing. Just found them here. I am In Switzerland. If it rains some serious money, i will get me some superchange job by them. Had this M5 back in '03 till '08. Is one of the best lomo V8 stroaker beasts ever build.

It's pretty clear from even the comments that the older M cars are more appreciated by people than the newer ones, and they seem to attract a different kind of audience too! My E46 M3 is still running the Eventuro and your remap and still doing really well. Hopefully in the near future I'll do some more N/A enhancements to it so expect a visit from me once more!

Quality kit as usual guys. Hopefully by the time I get through all the prep work on my own car the E46 version will be ready for release! Will definitely be keeping an eye out for updates. Ever thought about incorporating an Eventuri intake with an SC kit? That would really top things off, it's one thing I know I would miss when eventually going FI.
Great upgrade mod.. I almost bought one last year but really couldn’t bring myself to use it as a daily, would have been a crime with UK winters.. so bought an E63 instead. Great editing too..

If it's getting charged I'm interested. Cant beat that charger whine. I've only got an old r53 cooper s and its sounds megs when you boot it. All you can hear is the charger . Just love it

Very well thought out kit. Was a positive displacement kit considered? If a manifold is being engineered and made, I wonder if a positive displacement supercharger would make more sense.

@evolve - have you thought about looking into designing intake kits for the E39 530i M54 engines? There are a lot of them out there and a decent air intake kit is always going to be of interest to folk; as long as it's not silly money etc...

Looks great, I've upgraded my 2003 M5 significantly, currently a Dinan S2...this kit looks great to push me over the top. [Or should I say boost me over the top!]
Running this kit at full boost really transforms the E39 M5 in to a monster!
Evolve Automotive I have about 90k miles on the car. All mine and well cared for. Would you suggest a more “reasonable” boost? All my Dinan upgrades have been engine related. Headers, intakes, software. No cam.

Great video, lovely car. Why didn't go with air to water system that's my question, the packaging deficiencies specially for those who don't want to cut their front end would suit a air to water kit better. The side mount FMIC is not big enough i'm afraid for higher boost levels.
You have done a ton R&D I am sure but was just wondering, 4.5psi,,,,,, what would the numbers be without the intercooler? Thanks for a great vid

I like what your company is doing! Where does air enter the cooler? Does it go underneath the engine block or all around? And is that hole next to a fog light big enough to provide enough air flow to cool the intercooler? What are the expected temperatures on the inlet and outlet of the intercooler? Just a mech engineer thats curious XDD...Thanks in advance.

Do you have to do any changes on the rear end with all the added horsepower?
Is there a way to open up the fog port and the side of the lower "mouth" grille to allow greater airflow to that intercooler? I love the idea of placing it there, but I'm curious what the delta is between pre and post intercooler temps and whether or not the unit achieving its full potential. Also, does the addition of wheel arch vents cause nose lift at highway (or higher than highway) speeds? Granted the car is pretty well planted, but I got nose lift at 160mph which had me stabbing the brake pedal pretty quickly!
You could open it up more yes, but the idea behind the kit is that there’s no cutting (other than an arch liner) and that it’s almost invisible from the outside.
Through extensive high speed testing we didn’t notice any change in handling characteristics

You couldn't run A2W intercooler bricks in the new aluminum intake manifold? There are several manifolds that do that in the LS world.
