Kylie I had originally picked on Instagram the blue tile however.... after seeing the soft pink/crimson against the terracotta and the stone in the bathroom i think it looks so much softer and warmer against the other tones in the bathroom. Also thank you so much for taking the time to edit the subtitles, I'm learning Italian and really love listening to you talk while reading the subtitles to help me as I learn.

@@KylieFlavell Hi Kylie, be careful watering your garden at night because you can end up with a fungus on your plants. Best to water in the AM (say 8-9 am) because the plants will get the water then the sun will dry off the leaves & top soil so no fungus grows. But, if you do decide to continue to water at night and do end up with a fungus (hopefullly not) there are natural remedies to stop the fungus that you can most likely find on you tube.
Hopefully the heat wave will break soon for you & all of Europe!
(ps I love blue but, love the red tile with your stone floor choice. Both are beautiful and both will look amazing in your new bathroom which ever you choose) 🍒🍎❤

Although I do love it.

I think I prefer the faded crimson because you've done white and blue before, something different and very complimentary with the floor tile. I would keep a simpler shape for the floor tiles since the walls will already have a strong pattern. Best of luck with your renovation and happy that your having a healthy pregnancy!

@@KylieFlavell the sink is gorgeous, we’ve just renovated our kitchen, dining & lounge. I went farmhouse style fine fireclay sink and Tuscan profile door fronts, Lee wasn’t convinced at first as he’s very minimalistic and monochromatic (flat surfaces in grey tones) but now that it’s all together he loves it, even my sink with brushed brass tap. I did keep the grey tones which is classic and kept him happy but I’m hoping he can see my vision and let me have my filigree tiles for the bathroom floors. 🤞🏻

Sophia Loren said, “ Cultivating beauty is a form of respect for those we love”. You do that daily……Seeing those soft red tiles confirms my earlier choice. For me my distant friend (in spirit) I welcome even the most basic instructions. I never learned to cook. Was never taught. Now at 48 years of age I am learning and thoroughly enjoying it. It’s so interesting that when you were showing the floor tiles, there was a blue rug and in another sample a chair with a blue seat cushion, both of which look lovely as the blue compliments the tile and vice versa. My pick is still blue, complimentary colours with the terracotta, it’s cool and serene. However, if you choose the warmer tone on tone look of the red tile, some blue glass bottles, blue throw rug, towels etc might be gorgeous too 😉. It was posted just on time for me to enjoy it while having lunch; pasta with homemade Pesto and Proscuitto! It reminded me of my last trip to Italy. I went to Rome 10 days ago and indeed the heat wave was real ! You look stunning, I am glad you and the baby are feeling good and that you are both active now ;) Calcio storico what a fun pick into this florentin tradition! I remember reading about it last year while preparing my trip to Florence. Have a good week-end and see you next week with hopefully some more good news about the bathroom =) Quick note about the tiles, I was one of the few who selected the red tiles because it feels very rich and different from what you did in your other bathrooms renovations. I guess that the richness of the ground with the Terracotta floor will complement well the tiles and you will have a very warm and comforting color scheme which will be terracotta, red/pink/crimson, creme (stone from the double sink and probably the seals between the stones on the wall) and finally the brass from all the bathroom fixtures. Hope it can help you make the decision ;)

It is crisp and clean and you will find tons of wonderful blues in fabric and such. The crimson with the terracotta will just blend in together while the blue provides a fresh contrast. Your pesto recipe is so tempting. I admire the care that you take when you are preparing a meal just for you and Guido. I am so enjoying the process through which you home is finding its rustic roots.

Oh Kylie !!!! I’m making that pesto today ! I hope you select the blue tile. You are the highlight of my weekend. When I see your video come up- I plan a special time to watch on my large TV screen so I can really enjoy the beauty of your filmmaking. It’s just as hot here in the southern USA. And there is wind too. Feels like we are roasting in a convection oven.
You’re looking very healthy & beautiful. And Guido too !!! So glad your en suite project is proceeding!!!

Cara Kylie, today's episode was well worth the extra wait. What a delight for all the senses! As for me, I always would go for the blue tile. I just love a splash of blue and white. I'm still in love with your kitchen makeover in Firenze. How did Guido participate in the calcio storico? As a player? I hope he didn't get hurt. Wow, you can't get any more italian/Renaissance than today's episode. From the pesto, to the stunning view, to the terra-cotta tiles, to the costumes, to nessun dorma! Sono completamente innamorata! ❤️ A presto, ciao

I loooove the sink, I think the hexagonal terracota floor tiles would look really beautiful in the bathroom and since its already in another place in the house it can perfectly tie back to that, also my favorite between the blue and the crimson its, without a doubt, the blue, feels so fresh with the stone and the terracota floors, so airy and beatifull and relaxing, love what you are doing! Can´t wait to see more episodes! lots of love!

I’m reading other comments and finding many of us feel the same 😂 I also voted for the blue initially, but now that I’ve seen the samples next to the other stonework, I think the crimson looks better too. I love the hexagonal terracotta floor with the stone walls, but I do think any of the shapes/layouts of the floor tiles will be lovely. Beautiful video and so happy for you that you have a floor now and there seem to be some possibilities with getting the plumbing done - fingers crossed!! 🤞

I feel like a little child again sitting in the kitchen watching my grandmother ( from Bari) cooking. It’s not easy having heat waves while pregnant take good care. While I am drawn to blue most every time when I saw the crimson tile placed against the walls and the natural light I think I prefer the crimson. The sink is so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the progress! I can’t decide on the floor tile shapes …. Maybe the hexagon? Thank you again for a beautiful trip to the lovely Tuscan countryside.

Red isn’t great for a bathroom, it’s a place to relax and recharge, I believe it’s considered bad feng shui if you care about that sort of thing. Do they not have an emerald or rich verdi green? The basin is gorgeous, what a find. Loved the pair of three pronged leafy gilded wall sconces. What ever you do Kylie, the bathroom will be brilliant, like all of your creative expressions it will be infused with your elegant aesthetic.

Guido and I can’t work out if I’m exactly at 6 months - who knew working out one’s pregnancy could be so complicated but we seem to get different timing from different sources online. But you’re right - it’s such a gift. Even the fatigue and first trimester of constant nausea. 😘😘😘😘

    • @YourFriendAyana
      @YourFriendAyana Před 2 lety

@@KylieFlavell Yes! First trimester was intense for me as well, and I think it was so hopeful to remember that I’m not alone and that so many others have made it through these exact things. Women are so incredibly strong.
I think that they way they estimated our due date was by fundal height (pubic bone to top of uterus) and first day of my last period. I’ve been using a few pregnancy apps, and the weekly updates seem to be on point with where I am at (22 weeks).
Although, each body, baby, and pregnancy are so different. Just want you to know that both of you are in my thoughts, and you have a fellow mama to chat with any time you’d like a friend.

Kylie, you created such a gorgeous film... as always! I enjoyed watching with a smoothie this morning before going out to water my vegetables. Thank you for the great ideas for a pesto. I have shared your film with my friends because I know they will like the recipe. I have almonds, and fresh basil in the garden so will try making this for dinner. I always seem to forget to buy pine nuts! I love both of the tile colours. They are beautiful. I know that as you and Guido tune in to what you want to feel as you are in the space, you will choose the perfect one. I am seeing your renovations continue with ease and flow, no matter what issues there were... and that the delay has become a divine gift. You made me smile at the perfect moment too, to also see what you are wearing. I don't make a lot for me, yet I loved it so much on you that I made the same one for myself as a treat and am wearing it now. xoxo P.S.
