I absolutely agree. Whilst I love decor you can swap and move as you like, on the walls I'd never "decorate" with "art", but only with actual art and artful objects I've aquired over the years that I cannot live without and that very much speak to me. I see alot of people renovating only to start decorating their walls with poster prints and little framed cutie things just to add interest and really it does just the opposite.
One small unique work you want to gaze at four hours is better than five decorative pictures every time.

Kylie, you showed the area with the two brown chairs that you want to cover. You mentioned a book shelf. Having a mini library in the entire corner with the two chairs would give another sitting spot plus antique wood shelves with books warms up the atmosphere and also helps with the hollow sound of a big room. The curtain for the door is perfect! Thanks again. So enjoyed this episode as always. Love from Canada.

HI Kylie, a small suggestion about a pantry. Where you have the kitchen now, could be your pantry, leaving you lots of counter space outside to work on. Like you, I never have enough counter space, or oven room. I'm a greek and I love cooking, I understand your frustration trying to work around limited spaces. Not sure with the actual lay out, but as your are walking around, I think the pantry tucked away there with a window with no view anyways but enough natural light can be a contender. Love watching your videos with interesting contents always, in such a gorgeous setting.

There is something beautiful about appreciating things that are obsolete in this day and age. The olive press is a very large conversation piece:) It would be fun to build a movable table top around it and have people seated all around the press, or use it as a buffet station during entertaining.

Now I understand why you didn’t show the living room at Christmas. Didn’t realize you weren’t far along. Looks great. LOVE the rug, but you should get a rug pad for it. The pad will feel good/better to be on and it will protect the rug from ground in dirt by heavy feet/shoes that can cut fibers. That’s a rug to treasure. A rug pad is a win win.
I would not put the frig too far from the work triangle. And you need a surface close to sit things on from the frig. That kitchen space is certainly challenging. It would not be a waste of time or money to talk to a kitchen planner and at least hear what they say. Maybe one of your fans here could help. For someone who really does like to cook and will use every inch of her kitchen, I think it’s vitally important to get it right. You can disguise many appliances with cabinet fronts too. Or maybe even old door fronts. I can not express enough how important work space layout is a must. It just makes being in the kitchen and cooking even more pleasurable. Can’t wait to see it in progress. ❤️❤️

The antique sofa is stunning but I don't love it there. So much good in your vlog this week Kylie ( as always). The entertainment - kitchen- dining space is gorgeous! Your new sofas might be the most beautiful sofas I have ever seen. They were worth the wait and the money! Love the historical significance of the room and the pieces in the room. I too like to decorate with family heirlooms and pieces that have meaning. It’s like being surrounded by warmth and love of those that used the pieces before you. Really like the copper spotlight on the stone columns. I love indirect lighting as it sets the mood of the room. Really think the idea of hanging your copper pots on the wall is superb! It’s so beautiful Kylie. That living room is so gorgeous with the fabulous ceiling, I would keep it simple in there and let the ceiling be the focus. Flowers are all you need. The lamp over the dining table, hmmm, not so sure. I would try to find something less bulky and airy or less obstructive. Love the carpet and drapes for the doorway. Yes to a bookcase, somewhere. Your new kitchen and seating area are so exciting! May I make one suggestion? One of the elements of design is variety. I feel, four couches, look repetitive and boxy. I suggest using the two charges under the window where your historical couch is. The colors of the chairs would be fine with neutral couches. If you move your beautiful pink couch to an empty wall, it provides another conversation area; which is wonderful for guests who want to talk privately. I would suggest the wall at the end of your dining room where there is a box like cabinet under your pictures. This would also highlight your beautiful couch; which really has seniority, after all. Oh, and BTW Kylie, may I make a coffee table suggestion? the cream sofas seem to be deep and comfy, and it might be a bit hard to put something on the rectangular coffee table if you are lounging. Perhaps in the future, you´d consider a more square coffee table if that´s gonna be the living room layout? something that is closer to each sofa (unless you are planning side tables). I always leave a distance of 50 cm between the table and the sofas so you can walk around and still don't crunch much if you´re sitting and trying to leave a drink on the table (especially if older people will visit often).
I love your home, you are making an excellent job!!!!

If I may suggest moving the larger timber chest that is against the brick column in the middle of the room, to the other wall near the dining table where the small drawer chest is (that has the lamp on it) and swap the two pieces of furniture. The smaller chest will fit better next to the column than the larger piece that is too big next to the column

I love, love, love how that room has taken shape since you were on hands and knees scrubbing and oiling that tile! The sofas are lovely and elegant, yet comfy and inviting ( don't serve ur guests red wine ha ha) .I wld just like to suggest that the glass topped coffee table you have placed there is proportionately too small for that space IMO.I think something larger and more substantial in old, distressed wood would be warmer and a better fit with the asthetic.Pethaps there are some old wood doors or windows, gates (you could get glass bevel cut to slide on top) lying around that could be used as a central coffee table and an end table with metal or stone legs (sounds like a project for ur father!) with magazines and Italian design or art/architecture books stacked on it.The light over the dining room table is also,IMO, too small for the space.I wld suggest a larger piece,or 3 of the size you purchased over each end and center of the table.Maybe center light can be different from the 2 hanging at either end?.The space and the table is large so could still be low key.The brown spotlights would be warm and highlight the lovely columns and ceiling. The olive press is fantastic! The fabric for hanging at the door is luxurious ,thick, and such a beautiful color.Yes,art over the sofas for sure! I felt in this video, that I had dropped by to see how your projects were coming along and we were chatting!! In Italy do you have a type of Aga cooker? I had one when I lived in England and LOVED it.It has the added benefit of providing heat year round. You can get one from England and prob in Italy but they are super expensive.Still, they are farmhouse stoves, come in lovely colors.Perhaps you can find an Italian farm house stove that needs refurbishment. You use so many fresh ingredients in made from scratch meals that I don"t think you need a HUGE fridge that takes up a big space. Here in US,everyone eats a lot of prepared and frozen food and buy in bulk so bigger fridges are in demand.Sorry this is so long but I was so inspired.

I rather love the great lamp sitting on the floor, but yes, a table is much better! It’s been a treat watching your beautiful scheme for each room take shape. You wonder about art on the walls in the sitting room. I think some small stone or ceramic pieces, a lovely plate or two, a cherub, low relief grapes, olives, or antique kitchen items. It needn’t be artwork per say. The doorway curtain is perfect and the pan wall is a great idea! Now your parents need to return to enjoy the space once the kitchen is done!

I sew, knit, decorate, (once made over a friend's kitchen in Tuscan style with faux stucco walls in a warm terracotta colour, she was over the moon!) furniture painting, cooking, adore fabrics, and love herbs and veggies, flowers and fruit trees (my favourite is fig!) One of my favourite things is to turn things that people throw away into one of a kind beautiful items that is unique to me! But if I may give you a suggestion, you could repurpose the olive pressing machine if the inside wheels could be removed so that you could perhaps add a marble top and use the basin as an isle in your kitchen. As for repurposing the wheels perhaps you could pile them up in your living room to serve as a side table under the glass lamp. I don't really know if these are ideas are feasible, but I wanted to share them! Best of luck!

I would take the pictures down in the dining room and do a painting of a street in a Italian village. A whole wall mural. The street could go up the wall (like going up a hill). Maybe distant small homes at the top of the wall......small outdoor cafe tables along the street in the painting. Maybe match the actual furniture in the room with the painting. It would give the impression of sitting in a terrace along the street.

Love your home but have a few ideas.
    1. The pink sofa can be incorporated into the living room with the 3 linen sofas by adding a fabric with pink and coral in it as throw pillows to the linen sofas and adding a few throw blanks that have the pink and terracotta and coral of the drape.
    2. The farm house lamp is a bit small for the dinning table but perfect in the kitchen. Keep looking for a bigger lighting.
    3. Maybe, rather than putting the fridge on the wall near the press, a long pantry wall with open shelves and closed cabinets could go there made of old barn wood. Then it goes well with the other shelf you planned for the pots on the nearby wall.
Maybe a fridge and a freezer or two fridges can be were the old kitchen is now.
    4. The chairs are lovely. Would be great in a reading nook or remove one new sofa and put in the two chairs and take the sofa to another location in the home. That way the pink sofa is not odd man out in the room
    5. Love the idea of book cases as you suggested! Also art on the walks. Like the floor lamps.

Have you thought of …. Possibly keeping “just the base” of the olive press in your kitchen - removing the stones to the gardens- then, you could create a large rustic round table top for the base. I think it could be modified into a beautiful table with great historical roots. Certainly would be useful: a charming gathering place for people with seating (stool height?) & exceptional for serving/displays of food & filming. What a dream project! Smiles, K

Regarding a pantry, possibly put the sideboard cabinet near the olive press as well as shelves and make room for the refrigerator in your new kitchen area. Maybe also use the original small kitchen area as additional pantry storage.

Hello Kylie. I am new to your channel and I am enjoying viewing your lifestyle. I am jealous of all the beauty that surrounds you.
Your husband's family farmhouse is such a gem (and your husband is pretty cute too!) Just a few thoughts about your living area. Your sofa arrangement is very nice and I can image large family gatherings filled with love and laughter. I suggest you look for a larger coffee table because the one you have looks too small for the space. Always consider proportions and balance. Art work you love added behind the sofa would add some of your personalty. Think about adding some pillows with texture and look for some beautiful knit throws to add to the sofas in the winter months. Or if you like you can store the throws in a big antique basket. A couple green plants on the window sills would add life to the space. Definitely recover the two chairs with a beautiful woven fabric similar to the drapery. See if you can add casters to the legs so they can me moved around the space when you need additional seating. Turn the space where they currently are situated into your reading area with bookshelves. Get a large upholstered ottoman (also with casters) to place by the chairs so one can put one's feet up while reading. I like your idea for lighting that amazing brick column, but perhaps look for some uprights that are less noticeable. Maybe something round and flat. It may be worth a visit to a lighting store. The light you selected for above the table might be too small. I know you stated that you didn't want a big "statement". but with that size table you don't want it to look too tiny. Maybe save the light you have for over your kitchen table. For your kitchen, can you turn the space by the wall where you of thinking of hanging your pots into a pantry. I'm thinking big cupboards with shelves up to the ceiling, pull-out drawers ,etc. Instead of the table, how about a big island made from reclaimed wood with storage below for all your equipment and a durable, practical surface that's ideal for cooking and cleaning? Maybe add counter stools so your guests can sit and visit while you cook or it can me used as casual dining space when you're not entertaining. My children always liked sitting at the island doing homework or having a snack while I was busy in the kitchen.

I'm loving how it is all coming together. I think the two chairs would look great reupholstered in the same linen as the sofas and put where the pink sofa is now. It's a pretty sofa but I don't think it goes with the vibe of the other ones. Maybe it could be used somewhere else.

Yes, this is what I was thinking... the four sofas are too much in a square, but the chairs would make it more dynamic...

I would put one of the linen sofas in the place of the blush sofa. You can always add pillows & throws to pick up some color & make the area welcoming. IF You put the chairs, upholstered in a pattern, where the linen sofa is, closest to the dining area, you then have access to the sofa area after dinner. Affects the flow of the room.

Well , wasn't this some kind of wonderful !!! I love everything you have done , love all your ideas and so much agree with your feelings on selected pieces and overall look of a room ...it should be a warm embrace from the whole space not a few pieces jumping up saying hello . Adored that fabric , in my mind I was draping it over those amazing curvy chairs lol ... And the highlight lights , for the pillar ... YES ! Brilliant idea (soft warm lighting) ! Thank you for the video 💙

I actually love those little rounded chairs just as they are. The rust color go perfectly. The little area is a great little reading nook. Cozy it up with a little round table or book shelf on the wall and place chairs on either side. Find some pillows and throws to finish... sideboard table on the door wall. So beautiful.
