Remember that the awesome thing about the female protagonists in Terminator 2 and Aliens 2 was that they were both mothers and the writers managed to greatly incorporate their maternal instincts into the story, thus keeping the characters both female and badass at the same time.

At least DC have done 3 decent movies lately where they gave creative control to the directors. David F Samberg : Shazam. Todd Phillips : Joker. James Gunn : The Suicide Squad. I would say on recent evidence there is more hope of entertaing DC movies on the horizon than in the direction that Marvel movies are headed.
I'm ok with this! If they were to be a little less woke and start getting the characters out there, they could bump Marvel down a peg. DC has the perfect chance to win over fans with genuine comic characters while Marvel is swamped with race swapping, gender flipping, present day politics, and box checking.

@@timothymills4223 I'm only going by the movies I have seen up to this point. The new Barman has potential to be a lot of things. I'll reserve judgement until I see it. I did really enjoy the Christopher Nolan films and the new one will do a good job if it compares favourably with those. Time will tell, we just have to wait and see.

Gary, John Byrne has been publishing his own X-Men comic on his web site that picks up from the last issue he worked on with Chris Claremont. He's not doing with Marvel or for profit just because the X-Men post his leaving always annoyed him.

To be fair on the Agent Carter thing, in the Captain America movie they didn't put Steve in the front lines either. They had him doing publicity stunts for the military, so the higher ranks not understanding the value of a supersoldier is consistent. Being able to grab the Tesseract with your bare hands is also consistent with the movies.

Captain Edward Jellico was awesome. Most Star Trek is obsessed with "Authority Figure = Bad", but he came in and kicked ass. A terrific example of how a leader can be hard but fair. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather serve with Picard, but I'd rather have Jellico running the navy that protects my family.
I think it was Spacedock that did a good video on that episode, pointing out how petty Riker was and basically having to be begged to do his job lol. Only problem with Jellico was making Trio cover up more.

I think some CZcamsrs now see themselves as having developed a very professional and polished show (that generates tens of thousands of dollars) which is bound to grow even more in the coming years and maybe even start gaining them access to Hollywood guests. It's inevitable that they'll now want to distance themselves from their former peers. This stream really would have been a royal flush if Doomcock were on it. Perhaps he'll appear at some point during Drinker's one million subscriber special?

I'd reread the entire series from start to finish every time a new book would come out. I read that series for 14 years. I fear I'll never read it again, however, as the last book came out the same time my career ended from injuries I got on the job. It felt like two chapters of my life closing together.
The show is going to be thoroughly ignored though, because we all onow how that's going to turn out.

I'm pretty sure that the eternally drowning fate was stolen from Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. She has a character whom we've been hearing about in the books for over a decade now. All we know is that a crazy vampire chained her up and dumped her in the ocean somewhere. Now she's lost down there; drowning and resurrecting for centuries.

Just throwing this out there - there was 1 white guy in the cast of Shang Chi and he was a villain and has his arse handed to him by shang chi. Naturally... have to keep pc police happy. Of course it's an MCU "diversity" piece so it will be a "great movie". Next year "wakanda forever" comes out so no doubt that one will automatically be another "masterpiece"
